@joe03056 I think you'll find UKIP voted the way they did because they oppose the treaty in principle. The vote on ACTA was resolution, not legislative, so had no force in law.
True, this was only a resolution but one sending a strong signal towards the Commission negotiating the treaty. As it is the sign was very powerful by being adopted nearly unanimous. Why it wasn't? Because of UKIP.
If UKIP wanted to make clear its against ACTA it should have supported this resolution as all the others as well. Now they stick out as the only ones that didn't and have to explain why. Not very clever.
@FuroraCeltica. They voted against transparency, they voted against restricting it to counterfeiting (thereby saving your Ipod), they voted against measures that would restrict access to medicines. The voted in favour of the status quo, with the Commission negotiating a truly terrible treaty. I'm sure the Commission is grateful for the support.
WOW! You have all the charisma of a shoe! And none of the soul! It's already been 5 seconds and youve already bored the audience to death! If you don't care about what your saying how can we possibly care? you look like your giving a funeral service not making a YouTube video. Why so drab? Why are you talking like your mother just got fucking ass raped by a horse? So. Fucking. What. It's past the 4th June, Ive downloaded shit loads of music... nothing happened.
Scary stuff indeed, I wouldn't want to be arrested under the ACTA treaty just because I listen to music on my Ipod which I may or may not be aware is copyright theft. Music is to be enjoyed, not made a criminal offence - the world really is going mad!
@johnjtennant as long as you dont illegaly download music your fine.I dont get why everybody is freaking out over this.buy music from a store or authorized music download software.
And then UKIP voted in favour of ACTA on 10 March, 2010. Oh, dear.
Still, I'm sure they did it out of incompetence and not out of malice.

Well, WHEN ACTA comes into play, I'm gonna continue what I do. If I get arrested for what I do, so be it.
