At the end, when he's out of sight, he yells, "EDNA!" at which point "edna" yells, "Turn left at the light!", and all you see is the rubber ducky inner tube that he was riding on, floating on-screen.
I never saw Ernest's commercials for Purity (I've never even heard of it). But I remember he used to do ads for Natural Gas in Alabama back in the mid-1980s. Does anyone have one of those?
