  • Congratulations !!! I like your music

  • Thank you for your video. I will learn and practice day by day! I also love to share this video with some my friends!

  • Thanks for sharing!!!

  • how can you play teental like fancier. i would be thankful for ur answers

  • Many do not understand the basic idea behind taal - that it's a rythm after all. Given a fixed number of beats there can be a lot of variations. So 6 beats should be dadra after all. Excellent lesson.

  • very nice

  • you rock!

  • im from malaysia...ur from....n great help dude...although im an mid expert redi

  • omg

  • thanks for your tuition and help.

    peace

  • Thanks Venkat

It was refreshing to see your finger work on video

and hear the sound of notes . This what we needed to teach young kids in west if one interested to learn Indian classical Music.

  • where did he played tetetete?

  • r u serious

  • I am dead serious...

  • Nah man, dont listen to Freedom.

I didnt watch the whole video but he does it at the 3:13 mark for sure.

  • Wow. dude. you're hilarious man.

  • yeah its at 3:13 but he uses alternating fingers to play the three te te te

  • thanks so much venkat, pay not attention to these hypocrites who say you shouldnt be teaaching, they are full of ego.

thanks so much for your efforts, and just for the record I have been studying 5 years with my Guruji in the lucknow gharana, and think what he is doing is fine!

  • Sir Thank you very much for posting these lessons, you are doing a great service to all of us by sharing your knowledge. It is unfortunate that India is rich with so many wonderful instruments, yet there is not that many instruction sources available, that may have discouraged a lot of enthuisats of Indian music, you are great, I love your lessons.

  • this is the best lesson and also free

  • can everyone stop complaining he has put this video to help people lots of people like it so be fair

  • look man u got to show the beats on the page why dont u understand all it says is tabla lesson 9 for begines only

  • Thanx cant you upload more taals? plz

  • u are not a good tabla player ether so shut up

  • you go girl!

  • Another one to add to venkat's dadra's is - Dha Ta The : Dha Dha The. The first dha making a closed "ghe", the first The being executed with "Ke", and the last two dha's with an open "ghe".

  • Thanks for viewing. There are many variations in Dadra. The simple one is

Dha Din Na : Na Tin Na

    Others are

Dha Dhin Dhin : Na Tin Dhin

Dha Dhin Dhin : NaKa Dhin Dhin

Dhin Na Na : Tin Na Na

Dha TiRi Kita : Na TiRi KiTa

DhaDhi Na GiNa : Na DhiNa GiNa

    Regards

    Venkat

  • @vtallapragada

    This video showed --

(1)Dha Din Na : Na Tin Na

(2)Dhin Na Na : Tin Na Na

  • dha dhin na na tin na dhin na na dhin dha na is this correct.. i think i am wrong pls correct.. help

  • Thanks for your suggestions. What ever I learned is by watching people like you play and practicing myself.

    Regards

    Venkat

  • A couple of things:

When you play tin or dhin, it should be a loose note. That means that your finger should "bounce" of the tabla and you should get an open sound. Same with ta and na and dha. Whn you play Ti-ta, they should be closed and your finger should stay on the tabla for the duration of the note.

  • Namaste Venkatji.

Much appreciated. Can you do me a HUGE favor and spell out the bols for this one? I only know a few, and I'm unfamiliar with Te+Ga. I think it would be Dhe, but I have learned to play Dhe as Ti+Ge. If you could spell these out I'd appreciate it very much. Thanks again for all your hard work.

    Namaste,

    josh

    Om Namah Shivaya!!!
