Regardless of what I said in the video part 1 of this video, I actually really much enjoy Red Alert 2 & 3. I share the thoughts of the game series splitting paths. However this does not mean they were failed products, but it however does mark the death of "Red Alert" product as it was born.

It's actually every other EA game I dislike with all my heart.

@xlthenoob, That's a Red Alert glitch. If the area where the chopper is trying to drop reinforcements is too crowded, the reinforcement drop will fail. Make sure that little circle of trees southwest of your base where you got all the other reinforcements is clear.

I suppose so. I forget exactly how I scripted it. But whatever you left on the spot wouldn't last long because a group of enemy heavy tanks comes rolling through every 6 minutes and then later on every five minutes. It'd be a tough call trying to hold that spot.

Weird cause I really tried a lot to find cheats for it, but never managed to actually find some that worked (yes I did once cheat in pretty much every SP game (never done it in MP though), though I'm not that interested anymore, I really did hard try and never found any... i know this is noobish but how do you lay mines in the first RA using the allied mine layer?

@MastaShortie You click on Deploy just like you do for the MCV. Each time you get it to deploy it places a single land mine. Once it runs out of mines you can reload it at the service depo. The Soviet's also have one but it's mines are Anti Infantry as opposed to Anti Tank in the case of the allied one :) Anyway hope this helps :D

MajorStack, that was about the best red alert video I had ever seen in my life. Great touch to not post the last bit of the video! The entire thing looked creative and difficult to master, I look forward to playing it if I ever find my red alert disc again.

btw, when i had Red Alert back in 1997 and 1998, it was a mod. the most powerful weapons were the Allied's nuclear missile launcher (a new land unit that shoots a nuke missiles) and Tanya (who shoots 2 nuke missiles at the same time instead of using her pistols), and the Soviets' Hind which shoots a nuclear missile.

and all nuclear missiles were twice more powerful than in the original version.

i think that red alert 3 wanted to put a new enemy in the game and put more units and they had to come up with a good story line but i guess they screwed most of it up.

Red Alert 1 is the best of the 3.. the 2 others are very dissapointing in my opinion. I think they should make it as Red Alert 1 , just with more pixels - the tanks has unique looks etc, just upgrade pixels would be nice. Red Alert 1, will always be the best one!

This mission was modded to disable MiGs for the player. But if you save up $10,000, you can buy a tech center which will give you a really powerful new modded weapon. (Hint: Just think of the fastest land unit in the game modded with the most powerful weapon in the game.)

Okay enough with the hinting and teasing... :o)

The fastest land unit is the Allied radar jammer. And the most powerful weapon (taking everything into account, e.g. shot speed, etc.) is the guns on the Cruiser. So put those two together and you've got one zippy little bunker buster that can run around the map like a rabbit on Jolt Cola. It's also got a fabulous range. Its only drawback is it's quite fragile and vulnerable to air attacks. So once you get it, escort it with 3 or 4 Mammoth tanks.

And once you do get it, you're pretty much invincible. However, be careful... when you destroy a certain building in the enemy base, you'll trigger a 'fire sale' (enemy sells everything and throws the kitchen sink at your base)....

nice new weapon. if you had given it the armor of the Mammoth and its ability to heal itself to 50%, it would be the ultimate weapon.

Yeah you're right but I wanted to leave it fragile to add a bit of an edge when you're using it. It's a total riot using that little dinky radar jammer take down the entire enemy base. Although, like I said, you'll definitely need to protect it from MiG air strikes with a couple or three Mammoth tanks.

i see. i must have Red Alert on my computer to download the mission, right? but i have miniRA (mini version of RA that i downloaded, not full version), no campaigns, i can only play skirmish and online... i wont be able to download the mission and play it.

No. MiniRA won't work. But I found a new link to download the full version of RA1 for free (since EA removed their link). Check my video description. And this is all legal and above board, by the way. RA1 is officially freeware now.

I don't think so. As far as I remember, MiniRA and RA1 can co-exist on the same computer. But once you have Red Alert installed, pfft... who needs MiniRA?

I would actually say you could argue whether it is the most powerful, sure it is the one with the highest DPS IF IT HITS, but it is also has 10 times or more less accuracy than the next worst accuracy weapon, so chance are really that if you move a mammy tank within firerange and that cruise guns both at each of their max dist chance are mammy kill faster.
