Alison truly is talented.

Her songs usually have a deeper meaning if you dig beneath the superficial. I think this song is about her father. When I looked her up on Wikipedia before, under Early Life, it mentioned "She didn't see her father, John Sudol, often while she was growing up." Her emotions are raw all throughout her lyrics to this song. Her father left when she was young, and when he returned, she felt bitter. The chorus is even blunt: "You can't come in."
