  • JT is playing a Gibson J160E. John and George often used this guitar. This model was also common among English acts such as Peter and Gordon. Could this be the Lennon or Harrison J160E? Any chance the guitar was in the studio and he used it for the video?

  • i think he wears that same shirt when he performs now

  • this song calms me down :)

  • His creative spark under cultivation is palpable. What beautiful raw footage.

  • so young and sweet..and such a beautiful voice

  • Saw JT on the last leg of his UK tour the day before yesterday - he and his band were AMAZING - bit gutted that he didn't play 'Something...' But his band and stage presence more than made up - what a lovely, warm, self-effacing, funny, hugely talented person!

  • i love this slightly faster and younger version

  • a million times like

  • @vinswyth - totally agree with your perceptive comments - OMG though - he was a gorgeous, talented (still is), angry/depressed and passionate young man - I 've only recently discovered JT (and I'm an OLD person in my forties) - I hope to see him on his UK 2011 tour...

I'd love to see some more early JT footage here :0D

  • I thought, I knew how to play guitar, I was wrong.......Thanks for posting this, earliest I've seen......Rb

  • How young he was. A little cocky and self-conscious except when he loses himself in the music. He knows he's good, very good and that could be unattractive except for the fact that he is as good as he knows he is. And the fact that he is unself-consciously enjoying his own ability. A fascinating artifact and beautiful music. I love his Apple record better than any other of his albums and I'm so glad that I have it.

  • ive been looking all over for this video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Briliant, Brilliant, Brilliant. When all the songs about hubcaps, jewellry, "humps" and "hoes" have faded away.....we'll still have James Taylor - his beautiful guitar playing, gorgeous melodies and story-telling lyrics. Thank God, he survived killer Heroin.

  • I could watch this all day! Thanks for posting!

  • Thank you for posting this!

Do you have any additional information about where or when it was shot?

  • Most of the early Apple videos were either shot at Apple Saville Row, or at Trident studio in 1969. Apple have a large archive, which I hope they will release.
