Rob never saw your videos before but at age 35 I'm planting my first tree ever and usually kill everything. It's a bummer. Great advice. Wish you could tell me what to do after backfilling then planting the trunk ends up being like 3" below soil surface level. I'm assuming you dig it up and add more soil. Great videos tho thanks! Ps ignore these idiots who have such sad lives they could spend time to say something mean about your video. I feel Sp sad for them.

Keep planting!, by the way (disgress) peolpe has to know that cannabis have many uses, more than 50 000 different products can obtain from cannabis, also one hectare of marihuana is more useless, like obtain more paper than a tree hectare and remains illegal. Take care of our planet is our home, peace
Hi, we planted a few maples, even cut the roots as they were in the original plastic container for too long. we were told to score threw for an inch from the bottom. All was fin but the leaves are very droopy and was watered well. The woman who owns the tree has been soaking the base 2 times a day. how much water she be applied daily? thanks
I have really compacted clay soil that is as hard as rock. More than a year ago, I planted a lemon tree and it wilted and died eventually, even with regular watering. Those trees still in the pots are surviving.
What is your recommendation on amending the soil? Can I just replace it completely instead of amending?
you have good tips, but make a larger more gradually sloping hole, don't bother scoring. before you plant, also consider species, sunlight, moisture, disease and insect potential. gator bags are stupid, they don't water the new fine roots that are trying to extend away from the tree and they provide protection for bugs and critters to attack your new tree, use a proper oscilating sprinkler. and the bigger mulch ring you can start with, the better. consult a certified arborist for more help.
Thank you for sharing the way of planting a tree. It was heaven sent for me, because in some hours I plan to plant 2 trees and I didn't know how to solve certain points, such as the width/height of the hole. I know... maybe it is not the best time of the year, but they are a present given to me last week.
I know this sounds really stupid, but how do regular trees manage to survive without humans watering them once a week? *puts on "city person" hat and sits in a corner."

well you know most of it , but the dirt you dug out should not be put back only good topsoil, also you should line the bottom of the hole with topsoil, and where is the resevour you can take that old dirt to make it the rest spread out never put back old dirt unless it is black and good..and should have transplanter fert mixed in the hole with dirt.and water more lol

Josh your approach could use some work but you're right. Going electric would be a big step in the right(correct) direction. While is't true that most electricity is produced by burning coal it's a lot easier to regulate those factories than a bunch of individual cars. Besides, we'll be burnig that coal anyways and eventually we'll run out of that too. By that time alternatives will have been developed. Electric cars are one piece of the puzzle but it's going to take more than just that.
