Rubbish should Picasso have stayed forever blue? St peters brickworks a night to cherish but the Cruel sea's first albumn before it got infected by Tex Perkins is a gem put it on and hit the open road.
Such a shame that none of the band members made anything even close to this. Usually when bands split and form other bands the sound is similar such as GYBE led to A Sliver Mount Zion and GNR lead to Velvet Revolver and etc.
@poowooh1 ... hmmm, noise?music? this is both!.. noise is music to some ears & vice versa, maybe your just not feeling the burning rage & frustration & menace spewing from this 'noise',the sheer beauty of this song lies in its overwhelming bulldozing full frontal attack on the senses,it's pulsating violence,it's desperation, all flung at you like napalm.. it stick,it burns,it scars... it's perfect. shame you dont feel the heat.
A good program! Achieving this with digital means on a computer program! lol. know the music know the gear. look at what they were using at the time mono synths, looped reel to reel magnetic tape, ring modulators and heavily treated guitars. a little tip try running analogue synths through analogue guitar pedals and piggy back multible amps. even better use guitar amps. filthy sound.
This music makes me want to chainsaw-rape a statue of jesus then play with remote control cars strapped with animal carcasses while I watch Mondo films!

i just wonder why ther wright it in French, SPK was a German group and those guys are Austrian or English, and it has been recorded in London...
I love this so much. Industrial to me will always mean Einsturzende, throbbing gristle and SPK. I was lucky enough to have dipped my toes in noise before industrial, so I was exposed to this stuff first. It generated excitement for me, of this genre called industrial that was everything I dreamed of in music. Sadly, industrial is one of the worst genres around, none of it sounds like this. It's all just really bad goth electronic music. BRING THIS SHIT BACK, we need to bring back real industrial
I like the old industrial alot, but the newer industrial bands considered power electronics doesn't interest me at all. I haven't heard a single good song from them. And they aren't appealing like the old bands with ideas and art.
i am new to this industrial stuff, i like it, i have been listening to nine inch nails for a long time now so i decided to take a look at this. the only thing is i wish it had some heavier drumms, i think that would make it a bit more in your face you know what i mean?
I miss this kind of experimentation. Graeme Revel is a film soundtrack composer now that everyone has heard - his career started with noise and my ears, among others
I wish more artists these days had the balls these guys had to do what they did and take noisy industrial (or any genre for that matter, adding noise to it of course) to the next level. Honestly, this is the shit.
Excellent piece and excellent video. Thanks for posting it!
Let me ask you a question. The video says that Ne/h/il committed suicide in 1979, but on the back cover of the "Leichenschrei" CD it clearly says that he was still a member of the band (and this album was recorded in 1981). Is there something wrong?
@ctspf I've actually researched that and asked many users and had long conversations about the actual date of Nehil's death. Graeme Revell contradicts himself on the date in interviews so it's hard to determine when Nehil really died.

right. i forgot industrial is not about posing. there is not such thing as posing in industrial, because industrial people are above other pathetic genres of music. to sum up, fuck you. as long as people exist, followers exist, everything is posing.
I just found this out but someone came out with a printing on vinyl of all their earlier works I think the label is in europe and called Vinyl On Demand, if you follow the links from wiki to the home page of spk you should be able to find it and maybe order it though it will run you like 100 Euro @.@
Vinyl-on-demand released an 800 copies SPK box set which contains old stuff that had only been released on tape as well as some live stuff and their first 3 7". It's sold out long time ago and now runs 2nd hand for about the double price... Their albums have not been re-released on vinyl
aah at last! the REAL SHIT - and not the awful commercial dance CRAP I had to wade through first. It's amazing how bands can be so awesome or so awful depending on the stage of their career.
Anyone have the full lyrics? Thanks.
