@MrPeterharold exactly, i remember reading that the army hated the ss, thought they were low class thugs. in fact, if i remember correctly, the ss guys were often killed by army members. it was men fighting for their country, no more no less. on both sides. take care.

The man in a Sherman lost his foot and died from blood loss. The S Pershing hit the Panther. Seems the crew remained inside. And there is no evidence here that the tank was Nazi. Just German army defending its turf.

Remarkable, how they cut out the footage of the knocking out of the sherman tank in this particular video here.

There are several better and more complete versions of this video on YouTube available, where everything is shown.

The entering of the town by US troops, shooting of civilians in a car, knocking out of the Sherman by the Panther and a more detailed view to the knocking out of the Panther with it´s several fleeing (and war surviving) crew members.

There were no US soldiers in the Panther tank.

It was a German tank full of German soldiers who were defending their city.

There are there three hits - one on side rear of the tank (1st hit), one under the gun mantle (2nd hit) and one just below the sponson (3rd hit) .

At 2:19 u can actually see where the Pershing shell penetrated the Panther

The tank commander had his legs cut off and burned on top of the tank and most of the rest of the crew runing away were killed according to one of the US soldiers there.
