amazing tutorial! just bough reason record and its the best vocal editing software ive ever had. Oh and the wide vibrato, i got a bit confused. what it does is smooths out the vibrato in your recording??

@MISTERXAVIERMUSIC The wide vibrato doesn't do extra smoothing. It's more of a tolerance thing. It sorta tells Neptune, "Hey this person's voice wiggles a lot with vibrato so don't get freaked out when you see the pitch wobbling around. That's just how they sing." It can help with singer like that when Neptune would otherwise want to correct a pitch that's not really "wrong"

I hav connected my microphone to my pc,I can hear my voice...but wen I open record it jst dn't monitor my microphone even after turning the monitor button on...m using a creative 5.1 sound blaster sound card is because of that... plz help...

i have my usb mixer connected to my laptop and i have my microphone connected to my usb mixer

for w.e reason when i try to record on record 1.5 its not reading ...

i changed the audio prefences to the usb mixer already n when i speak to the mixer the lights go on but its not showing up in record

when i try it to garage band it work just fine so i dont know what im doing wrong with record ?

help!!

I enjoyed the video, but IMO it'd sell Record better if you used examples that weren't so extreme. Something that showed vocal tracks being pulled into line without effecting it too much perhaps. That Cher effect is soooo 1990's. ;) Thanks for vids Propellerheads + JB.

Next week you will see/hear it being used on a vocal where the Cher effect is non-existent and the correction is very natural. I agree with you about that effect being over-used.. but 1990's? I beg to disagree.. it's ALL OVER the top 40 charts right now...especially in Hip Hop.

I really enjoyed the video and I think you described Neptune very nicely. I tried it a lot using the betas, and I really look forward for the real updates now, so I can pick up on the track ideas I made and check how they sound, a couple of months later. The trick, to get the thick vocal performance I strive for, is to layer Neptune'd chords with real sung vocal harmonies on top.

Your voice is fine James and you could have easily hit the notes with a few tries. That said Neptune looks fantastic. I use a few separate tools to get the same job done. It's nice to see it integrated in one nice unit in Reason/Record.

Mabe if you stop bobbling your head and really listen to the track with that foolish plugin you would see that it isnt any better at all. Bobbling = delusional

I played around with this on beta .. Especially after I heard "Purple Ribbons" shits ridiculously unlimited in possibilities. You guys named it correctly. Neptune. Outer planetary. You don't have Reason? ... Then there's a reason. (earthlings)

I ordered the upgrade to the new Reason almost entirely because I think this device is so exciting (although the live sampling looks pretty kick-ass, too).  Anyway... thanks for proving my suspicion that Neptune is going to be a great, deep-featured toybox! After my next project is over, I'm taking a vacation in the Maine hinterlands with all the time in the world to develop a work-flow with the new devices... can't effin' wait!
