I cut my teeth on this stuff. All the punk shows I went to growing up were just like they explained. Just blowing off steam. If a guy fell in the pit, you picked him up. You didn't crush him or intentionally hurt him. It's really not violent if you can wrap your head around the intent behind A true punk show.

Yeah, there was respect there. Even the powerviolence bands of the early 90's used snippets of hip hop songs on their albums.

Hip hop today sucks but the golden age had substance. You shouldn't hate the entire genre.
