I just wanted you to know that I said a prayer for you and her a few minutes ago and hope that all is well with you and yours.

    A Sister in Christ

  • I'm sorry, I don't know that song. It must be from one of their last hymn albums. If I have it, I will post it for you.

And ys, they bless the Lord and they blessed and still bless millions!

  • @tangfastico This was from an album called NIGHTLIGHT! One of the best works! I miss them as a group!

The harmony is close and absolutely beautiful!!

  • @rebarkable Hello, I have this song on cd , but I am tonight for the first time registered on youtube and don't know how to post a song anyhow to you or in the internet. Someone must explain this to me otherwise I can't help (best in German language if possible). This band is my favorite christian group because of their good voices and arrangements for more than thirty years.

  • @rebarkable it is on the Hymns . Fairest Lord jesus that is. You can find almost all their work on amazon. Just do search for 2nd chapter..they have their own page there too.

  • lovemy wife37,

I will try and put Holy, holy, holy on here for you!

I'm sorry I haven't responded, but my wife has been in hospital for the last four months. ... And my computer has massive problems!

I'm sure that it is already on youtube. I would need to check! Please bear with me, my friend. When I can, I will look into it. I promise!

And God bless you too! Thank you for your lovely comment!

  • Thank you, folks!

They were absolutely outstanding and they have and still do affect and change lives! They are godly people. They weren't interested in making a name or fortune for themselves ... they only wanted to give all the glory to the Lord ... and that's exactly what they did do!

outnlv ... You are dead right! The angels in heaven when we go there will be even better! But The 2nd Chapter of Acts have brought us a glimpse of what heaven will be like!

    I love them!

  • I wish someone would post "Heartstirngs" on youtube...please. Thanks. Love SCOA, and Matthew's voice...what a gift.

  • I had this album on audio cassette. Thanks for posting. I had forgot how beautifull their ministry was.

  • You too??? Me too.. I used to see them in concert each year back in the 80s and what a lifting experience.. I knew then and still today know what the angels in heaven will sound like..

  • tried to search the lyrics to this song....could anyone provide this? this is just such a gorgeous song. <3

  • Jimyinlb,

I'm so sorry! I am in a very dark place just now!

The 2nd Chapter of Acts are disbanded because they felt that their ministry was elsewhere.

Matthew, Nellie and Annie are all married and have children.

Matthew had cancer, but is OK now.

You can read Mathew ward's book which you will find on Amazon.

Or you can go onto the 2nd Chapter of Act's website.

I am gutted that they are not together any more. But I trust that they knew what they were doing and why!

  • jmyinlb

I don't even know what you are talking about!

But thank you so much for loving this wonderful song!

    Bless you

  • Tangfastico, Could you please put Holy, Holy, Holy, by 2nd Chapter of Acts on U Tube? Their rendition of that song is the best ever! Thank you for your efforts! God bless you!

  • Best Christian band ever. So melodic. Lyrics straight from heaven. Holy Spirit...you are GOOD!

  • Oh, how thrilling to find these songs on YouTube! I started walking with God in 1974 and 2nd Chapter of Acts was the first contemporary Christian group I fell in love with. Nobody else even comes close - such heavenly harmonies!! Lord bless you all!

  • God is with this group throughout theages.

Praise be to god for their ministry

  • Hi, FHfan 731!

Yes, when singing solo, Annie was the main singer and she also did some solo albums. Annie was the main songwriter for the band too. Nellie did sing solo lead on some of the songs. They aren't easy to tell apart unless you hear their solo singing one song after the other or you know their voices very well. But all three had brilliant voices!

They were incredibly blessed and gifted by the Lord and they'll certainly never stop blessing me!

  • I think Nellie has a slightly deeper, richer voice. You can hear the difference in the song "Takin' The Easy Way" from the album before this. Annie opens, then Nellie sings verse 3 in the middle.

  • Minimuta,

Couldn't have put it better myself. Like you, I love all kinds of Christian Bands and singers, but the Second Chapter of Acts were truly in a class of their own and still are! And I doubt that any band will ever match what God did and continues to do through them!

  • Question: When the ladies sang solo, was it Annie who sang most of them, or did Nellie sing some of them? Is there any way to tell their voices apart?

  • 1982, The Saturday night before Easter Sunday, Trenton War Memorial in Trenton New Jersey. By far the best concert I have ever seen in my life. These sisters and this brother are the best Christian artists that I have ever heard.. I have great respect for Chris Tomlin.. the Newsboys - you name it - but 2nd Chapter is in a class all by themselves.

  • lizzielinzo ,

It came to Buck Herring that they should read the Second Chapter of the book of Acts in the New Testament. It is in this second chapter that the Holy Spirit fell upon the first believers and Peter went out into the streets to preach and thousands were added to their number!

The guys thought that that chapter summed up the whole message of the gospel and so they chose it as the name of their band!

    I hope that helps!

    Thanks for your comment!

    God bless.

  • what's the significance of the second chapter of acts as it pertains to their name?

  • Love these guys since I was saved in 1975. I got to see them twice. One was the Night light concert

  • I haven't heard these people for over 25 years. They have only gotten better.

  • I would like to know if this band still exist... I'm from France... thanks for answering me.. Kisses

  • I think they broke up about ten or twelve years ago---they sure were good!

  • They started in the 70's and are brother and sisters. That is part of how their harmony is amazing. When they decided it was time for them to stop touring and recording as a group, their fans were devastated. There music lifted us all up to the heavens. They sounded this incredible live. I have never heard a group sound so good live in my life.

  • You are absolutely right, Lisa. I have most of their albums on vinyl and am so pleased that I am of an age to have seen them live twice in Britain - once with my now wife - who I introduced to them.

I know it's a matter of oppinion, but IMO ... they are the greatest Christian Band there has ever been of any style and that there is ever likely to be.

On vinyl or live - they were phenomenal ... and thank goodness, because of technology, they are just as phenomenal today. God bless them!

  • Annie Herring (oldest and 'leader' of the group) still records and Nellie and Matthew often back her up so it's her projects have a very similar sound to this. I think Matthew (Ward) is still recording, too. He has an amazing voice.

  • Saw this tour loved it then love it more now!

  • ...Never, never leave my side... It's so beautiful in so many ways.

  • Hadn't heard this one before! Love it, as usual.

    Thank you for uploading :)

  • I feel the same way!!

  • Love this song! LOVE this group!

  • Thanks, calisurfnturtle!

I love them too! In my opinion, the best Christian band - if not the best band - EVER!
