    I wish you good luck!!

  • lovely tune and suits your voice as well. i'm 43 and just bought the deluxe american strat, never played before, willing to work hard at it. wife says its a midlife crisis but she'll not complain when i'm singing this to her. thanks for the inspiration my freind.

  • Stories like yours are exactly why I started this site and the videos. You made my day. Keep at it! :)

  • wow you are very talented mate ;)

  • How come the intro has a different rhythm than when u start the words? in the beginning u go through the strumming cycle and then u change chords but when u sing u change chords at specific words...is this right?

  • wow thats very simple...thnkx

  • Wow! that guitar is as sweet as honey! I mean the sound btw, nice vid, couldn't find one tht didnt use the dreaded F chord!

  • This chord progression can be turned into an easy version of another song with a minor tweak....

Play the 4 chords with capo as shown then play the first 2 chords again. Replace the last two chords by playing the C and G (shape) chords again.

Voila! Let it be (well, kinda!)

Sounds better if you play down the A string on frets 3,2 and 0 between the last 2 chords.

  • love this video

  • omg..just realised i missed the first minute..hence the reason for the capo...my bad.

  • Another cracker of a lesson. Thankyou. My fingers are killing. Any advice.

  • Sure, play some more! And find some witch hazel :)

  • This was totally awesome dude,, you are a excellent instructor,, i picked up on this very quick,, i have only been playing for about 8 months, I know chords G, C, D EM very well thanks .... i learned a new song......

  • This is great man!! Nice voice too!!

  • Excellent job. Is the amp just set to clear no effects?

  • wow I love this song.. I'll learn for play to my girlfriend.. like a Serenata.. I think than the chords is easy.. but how I can play without a capo? ...However, You play like a master and you voice is great.. Thanks..

boo for mispireta.. I step people like that all the time.. Oh and I'm sorry for the English, doesn't my language... Sorry :P

  • what fuckin fret i dont know no e miner or wharever u said and no i dont want to go to ur stupid wedsite

  • I would have helped, but your attitude is such that I frankly don't feel like it.

  • whaha tell him xD

  • dude, you're a fuckin jack-ass!!!! He's here to help people learn to play guitar, and then he gets dumbfucks like you who don't appreciate his efforts. If you can't figure out how to play a damn Em then you should find a different instrument to play, or just play with yourself!!!!! Fuckin idiot........

  • @loveremovalmachine Lol you funny guy! And very right too! This guy is great :)

  • You're such a twat. Em is probably the easiest chord there is. You can't even spell. Before you pick up a guitar you should probably do something about you're chronic retardation.

  • There's no need to be such a prick, dude. And if you don't know an Em then this is too difficult for you in the first place. Go and learn some basics. Like spelling.

  • stop trolling you fucking bastard!

  • omg, i love this

can you pls do "Where the streets have no name" or "I still havent found what im looking for" from U2

  • omg, i love this ^^

can you pls do "Where the streets have no name" or "I still havent found what im looking for" from U2

  • You ROCK!

Oh, and you have a nice hat. :)

  • i found out he uses D D U U D U but i still don't know how long i have to play the chords. like how many ups and downs in each chord?

  • Play each chord for a full measure. Thus, each time you loop the pattern, you switch chords.

  • ok i found out he's doin D D U U D U but i still don't get how long i have to play the chords *confused*

  • What is the strumming pattern to this song anyone.

  • would like to know it, too

  • i can play the bass to this song, we could make a pretty good team :D

  • the bass is easy as shit. anybody could play that

  • great lesson

was just wondering what e minor that chord was?

  • EM hehe

  • Very straight forward chords'n'strumming, should go down a treat with my alcoholic friends:-)

  • thx guys !!

    realy good and simple ;)

  • nice hat

  • this is actually the best covver of this song on youtube!!!!!!!

  • On the JT record, the chords are D, A, Bm & G and it's in the key of D.

  • it doesnt really sound like you have a sore throat

  • Thanks. Changing the key worked, then :)

  • Thank you so much for the great lessons! Nice Tele, too! ;-)

when they recorded it where did the put a capo if they did at all?

  • This is great! I'm just starting to learn guitar and am much more of a visual learner. I love this song and am am excited to use this. :)

  • Hello Mojo, Great great lesson from a nice guy and a very good teacher. I took up playing the guitar 4 months ago at 44 years old to find some peace and 'me time' in my life. I look after my four sons and disabled wife full time and needed something to keep me motivated and since picking up a guitar have never been happier and you have played a part in that (along with a couple of others here on youtube) with your great lessons and easy demeanour...anyway sorry to ramble on. THANKYOU

  • Wow, I am so happy that I can of assistance! The guitar is such a great instrument to forget about life and give us some peace of mind. I am glad that you are experiencing it as well. Take good care, Mojo.

  • Bono!!!???

  • Beautiful job! Love your lessons. Thats a very nice song, I never realized how good of a song it was until I saw your lesson. It was in my distant memory but for some reason back in the day (87 I think) it didn't appeal to me as much. Thank You so much for taking the time to make these lessons for us newbies.

    Brad

  • It is indeed a beautiful song. The only thing I don't like about it is that I didn't write it first ;)

I am so glad I could be of help!

  • u are a better singer than u say... nice work!

  • Hi Garry Well done ! You play well !

Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't this a 4-chord song??

  • Hey Mojo..Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your work. Ive been play guitar on and off for 20 yrs just for fun and I continually learn from you and I refer you to my friends who are starting off. Great way to relax. God bless keep it up. Garry From Newfoundland

  • Thanks Garry, you made my day :)

  • Mojo, you are too much. You are my uncle reincarnated. Great job in sharing your music.

  • We're graduating from 3 chords to 4. Awesome. Your voice sounds great. Are you sure you had a sore throat or just shy :-). Great lesson!

  • Love your lessons, keep posting!

  • if you don't recommend the capo on four normally..where does it need to go?

  • Another great lesson. Thank you

  • Great job. Very good voice and

    arrangement.

    5 stars !

  • great job could you show how to play ''better man'' by pearl jam

  • what do you do for a living, great lesson by the way :)

  • you would make a lot of money singing on street corners

  • Alas, we'll never know the veracity of that statement... since I"ll never have the guts to be a busker :)

  • I have tried mojo to follow you can you tell me the strum pattern?

  • do the chords in time with the bass on the record, all down strokes ie 7 down on G, 7 down on C, etc

    just an idea..

  • thanks a lot for this video

this is a video that really helps beginners

i've never had lessons but i understand what you teach and can play it(halfway)

    thanks

  • nicely done...a big help,,,thanks!

  • What is the strumming pattern on this one? Is it DDUUDU switch?

  • thanks mojo, there's many of us who just want to be able to play a handful of tunes in the backyard.

for me your video's serve their purpose.

    thanks and peace from chicago

  • Like the original way to play it (tab) but this is good for rythm xD

  • now these are really helpful, mojo! thanks for this public service. and you sing pretty good in spite of the sore throat!

  • can you also post a video how to play the lead part?

  • hey mojo great video mate, can you give me any suggestions on how to sing while playing the guitar lol..i can never seem do both at the same time. thanks mate

  • Make sure you get all the chord changes down pat. Then start whistling the melody as you play them. Then isolate portions of the song w/ playing and singing. Pinpoint which parts you can't sing and play, and work on those.

  • very boring

  • Instead of bashing, how about telling me how to make it better? God forbid you would bring something positive to the conversation, I know, but still... strikes me as a fine idea none the less.

  • Thanks Mate,

  • I like that the normal way of playing it better (with ebow) but this is good for rythm guitar. Im really not sure what the hell your talking about when you say your sorry for your voice. You have an amazing voice. thats what makes this a nice performance.

  • Thanks for the kind words :)

  • my favorite song =)

thank you so much for teaching how to play it, tabs are still confusing for me and don't show the strum pattern

  • Really nice voice, I can do the song now, thanks!

But I am still practicing singing along with playing, I can't do both yet :P

  • Thanks for the kind words :)
