  • A brilliant psychedelic classic, thank the Lord for musos & drugs!!

  • Reminds me of the 60's and my pot smokin days

  • I didn't see any credit for the wonder Chris Wood, who added marvelous wind instruments....made this quartet truly great .....^/^

  • I love 60s psychedelic pop! This is a classic!

  • I feel like getting stonned !

  • Music today will never be as good as it was in the 'old' days. This is the best...

  • This is pure neil from the young ones.

  • Sitars,Mellotrons and,heavenly voices.It doesn't get any better.

  • . . . i climbed on the back of a giant albatrose which flew through a crack in the cloud to a place where happiness reigned all year 'round and music played ever so loudly. . .

  • @PunkysDilema1970: Thanks for translating. I never understood it before... :-)

  • Hello, shoes.... I'm sorry but I have to stand on you again.

  • I am having an acid flashback the patterns in the wallpaper and on the oriental rug are spinning around and melting.

  • @ouzo6000: I hope you're feeling good now?

  • good old Dave...this is truly exhillorating..(sp?)...one of my favorites..pre Alone Together

  • Little girl was the stepdaughter of Chris Blackwell the boss of the Island record company. Love the lisp. Record must be heard in the context of the times ~ Itchycoo Park, See Emily Play, Lucy In The Sky, Strawberry Fields etc etc etc. Suddenly music was different and going forward. Now it appears to be stuck ~ just my opinion fwiiw.

  • @MrMeddled

It was just coffee! :-) Nothing else.

  • @soultraveler777

That phase has left for me too, Thank Jesus :-)

But the longing and searching for love and peace is still here. Well I now seek it at other places - in the presence of my Lord and in beeing with my family and friends...

  • Sounds like one track is playing, offhand.

  • @mjazzguitar Is that the sound of one hand clapping?

  • @mjazzguitar Is that the sound of one hand clapping?

  • AND EVERYONE WAS HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME......

    EXCEPT ME

    XD

  • With lyrics like that you can only see as as a psychedelic satire, not to be taken seriously. Love the song, though!

  • Way far-out man! I never knew about this song until i heard Neil's version (the young ones), then i clicked on this to see what the original was like. I didn't know they had windows movie maker-like efects back when this was done, i wonder how they did it? Ilike neils version near the middle better because its funnier, he says "the dew on the grass had soaked to my asre"

  • Another Stevie Winwood and Traffic classic - although the vocalist on this was the writer Dave Mason

  • Propertyofyourmother...the reason there are 70 yr old Hippies that didn't move on is because there was nothing to move on to...:)

  • awesome song! but who are those people in the video?

  • Happy Birthday Steve!!! 5-12-2010

  • hmm......i shouldnt say but i will...i rember this lol

  • My Favorite era of chart's,you may of got 1 or 2 shit but this is awesome, thank's for

    posting

  • A Masterpiece.

  • I loved the 60's :))

    And The Hippie Fashion :))

But When you wander round San Fransisco nowadays and see like 70 year old hippies who just didn't move on from the 60's, it does seem ridiculous.

  • @PropertyOfYourMother They didn't do it just to be trendy, for God's sake! They picked a philosophy/lifestyle and committed to it. What are they supposed to do, wear hoodies and say "yo yo"?

  • wow look at these rasta wannabee hippies.. i bet if u sat down next to them, the whole general area would smell like corn chips, garbage juice & body odor.. lol. hippies were cool in the 60s.. that's it.. & what's with 1960's british invasion music always at some point featured the word "albatross"?

  • Always featured the word albatross? So grace us with your wisdom Mighty TilderyKoadil and tell us how many other "British Invasion " records feature the word albatross.........please

  • I liked that song when I was 6 in '67 - though I didn't understand what it was about then!! Love it every time I hear it.

  • Remember to check out the Young Ones version of this with Neil on vocals 8-)

  • I view the video for this song just being an attempt to show us how trippy life can be, with just ordinary things, if you have the right way of looking for the signs! Acid can open doors but after taking it a few times you really don't need it anymore to re-open thos doors when you want!

  • I agree zigzag..!

  • just another piece of classic sixties music, when talent was abundant.great track great band great decade

  • this aint neil

  • Reminiscent of some of the other psychedelic era. masterpieces by Pink Floyd, the Beatles, and the Rolling Stones Thanks for sharing.

  • Do we really have to looks at these idiots while we listen to this great track.

  • this song is really about fantasy

  • Mr. Dave Mason at vocals, yes! isnt he good?

    Thanks for uploading Señor Donralfo.

  • A nice day :)

  • hole in my pocket

  • musician !!! :-) :-) :-)

  • one of mr fantasy's reverie's

1967 albums turned the world upside down

  • theres a hole in my own shoe too

  • I suppose it's a rather silly song, but my God I thought it was cool when I was 18 and just out of boarding school and free to walk down sunny streets in my corduroy loafers. Ha. 42 years ago and life is still good.

  • and may it continue to be good for you!

  • gran canción, y claro una buena forma de guardar recuerdos; muy bien!!!

  • such a freaky song!

  • good song, infact a claasic, sorry a family video does not go with this!

  • This is such a cute family video. Excellent music selection. :)

  • At first I thought the video was footage from back then. cute baby though!! great tune as well

  • love this song! its weird but, here, for the first time is a song whose cover version (the one with neil from the young ones) appeals MORE to me than the original. Kudos to traffic, though, for producing the original.

  • What a wonderful, peaceful family you have, wish I had neighbours like these, instead of the dogmatic, uptight gossiping suckers we do live next door to. Beautiful Baby! Cool choice of song too, thanks.

  • Thanks. Yes I'm really happy with my family. I'm the proud grandfather of the baby which filmed this little scene. ;-)

  • nice one,fits in...

  • Geeza, if you think that Dave Mason is in a class with Steve Winwood then I've got some Craig David and Victoria Beckham albums you might like to buy

  • I just love this song and the video is a great fit

  • Great smoking tune :)

  • dave mason wrote some fine songs but jdal1950 said it well, if you think dave is in a class with steve i've got some tiny tim and bury manilow albums to sell you

  • CHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!!

    Sooooo needs a 2009 Remix!

  • You all know that if that baby was not there, They would all be token the Ganja

  • Fella if you think that Dave Mason is in a class with Steve Winwood on any level I've got some Aerosmith an Black Sabbath albums you might be interested in

  • All ways loved this song Thanx!

  • Who are people in video here?

  • Just my family ;-) I'm the Dad of two and grandpa of the baby. We had a nice sunday afternoon in our little garden. (without drugs, only coffee)

  • tell me more about it! ;-)

  • Good!! There was a time when Winwood was only 25% of this band!Dave Mason was every bit the song writer that Winwood was!Steve's attitude killed one of the best lineups ever!!!

  • I agree. Great post.

  • Very true, although Mason's solo albums were good too.

  • iv got a hole in one of my sneaks

  • It's nto Winwood's typical voice because it's not Winwood's voice at all. The singer is Dave Mason.

  • thanx, but we already found out! ;-)

  • @ stormas4460 no better a fat joint and the guys on the clip get a haircutt looks like u have shit in the hairs:(

  • Some of the trippiest lyrics in psychedelic music right there. Thanks for posting!

  • sorry --that is not stevie winwood on vocals --it is Dave Mason!

    thanks, enjoy

  • @whgwords: Zhanx! You soveld the Problem! ;-))

    ;-))

  • Yeah, sure it sounds like George H. But his name is Steve Winwood..

  • am i the only person who thinks the singer sounds a hell of a lot like george harrison?

  • Never thought about it, but you're right! it's not Winwoods typical voice.

  • lol drop some cid then listen to this shit...

  • Man I Love Hippies ;] LOL xD

  • the song is NOT on the mr. fantasy-album. it's a single released afterwards

  • Than it maybe a bonus-track on my album Mr.Fantasy. I didn't have the original album.

  • Remember John Barleycorn. He must die. But he'll be back in time!

  • Look at these hippy people, are you guys related to some one in traffic or are you just trippin?

  • Trippin' the night away
