while many may disagree, i think it would be quite interesting to see a movie or Tv show such as Band of Brothers to capture the war from the Germans point of view. Even though in the war, the Germans were certainly the bad guys, most of the soldiers were just ordinary human beings just doing as their told just like the Americans. It also seems that ever since movies were first invented, the business has been saturated with the main characters winning, it would be a change.

My grandfather must have fought somewhat like this. No special forces though. 65th Infantry Division, 259thbattalion,3rd U.S. Army (U.S.C.G. George Patton Jr.) that fell in line at Saarluarteen in March of 45 for the Spring offensive. Was supposedly some of the fiercest fighting on the Seigfried Line for the break into Germany itself. He never spoke of it but I've read the 65th's history. 60 days on the march, 39 spent in combat. He ended up at a camp outside Linz, Ausria called Mauthausen.
