  • The first time I heard this sung was back in 1991 in a packed Pakipaki Marae wharekai in 1991. I was a pakeha kaiako with a visiting group of school kids and it was sung as a grace. Talk about "sing for your supper"! That wharekai became Canterbury Cathedral and this manuhiri's spirit soared through the rafters. I just had to learn it. I'm proud to say all my own kids now know and sing it and value it as I do. Kia ora Myssticalnz for posting this! : )
