  • Just a quick thought on storage... I've been a barista for 15 years and teach courses myself.... They have actually changed the best way to store coffee which is now by keeping it in an airtight container in the fridge... Great video though

  • Not as great as a good cup of espresso, but ANYTHING is better than freeze dried drip coffee (Folgers, Maxwell House, ect.). I personally like an iced double latte, lightly sweetened and with nonfat milk.

  • This is the exact same way I make my coffee! Except rather than 15 seconds I pulse the grinder three times, maybe 3-4 seconds each time. And we call the coffee plunger a French press. I actually don't know how to use a coffee machine >_> It's just so easy! And raw sugar is so great--I think it's better for you too. Great video!!

  • is raw sugar brown sugar cuz i live in america and i cant find a package that says raw sugar and any sugar in pennsylvania is called plain confectioners and brown and can i use french vanilla coffee or do i have to use plain

  • @yooyw Brown sugar is sugar with molasses added, or never removed in the first place, it's not the same thing as raw sugar. Raw sugar should be around, keep an eye out for Sugar in the Raw or even Turbinado.

  • Hey Nicko. This is the way I've been making coffe for years. So I was glad to see that I'm doing it right.. You know I love to cook for people, but especially for the women in my life. But I tell you, coffee made as good as this served alongside some good quality croissants for breakfast. I can do no wrong. lol. Thanks for all your hard work. I think yout brilliant!!   • dude totally agree about instant Im always amazed at how it just disappears but you can get good mech online I got mine reconditioned from factory for 400 which is well worth it for how much i drink and you dont have to nuke your milk which is just WRONG, YUK!!

  • try frying ur coffee beans on a wok on high heat. it really brings out the flavour but that requires patients and time though. but the tste of that coffee after frying them till u spell all the flavour coming off the coffee. its the time to stop frying them. no oil needed just a wok,spatula and coffee beans are needed. =)

  • Because coffee also has a good amount of antioxidants? Black coffee in small to moderate amounts is actually very good for health. Adding cream or sugar of course is not as good as black coffee because cream adds fats and sugar - well self explanatory.

  • In America we just have a coffee maker that you load the grinds into and bam, or you can make it with a french press I guess, but you'll want a bur grinder to get a more accurate grind for that since the size matters and the grinder you have there can't really do an even consistent grind.

  • Two things id probably add.

    1. Swirl the Coffee Press with hot water before putting coffee in. (So you dont lose so much heat from a cold Press)

    2. Do not use reboiled water. Make sure the water in the Kettle is fresh and hasnt been heated before.

  • That's not coffee with milk and sugar in my book lol. I like it black and with ground beans (never instant) of course in my coffee maker. Strange always heard to put it in the fridge or even freezer. Intresting.

  • Love French Press coffee, but outside of a thrift shop, I'm not sure where in the US you could get a pot for $5.00. Mine is on the low end and it cost over $20.00. It does make an awesome cup of coffee. Love the addition of Raw sugar. Great taste, and I've seen different steep times for the coffee. I usually let mine steep for 4 minutes. Now I've got to go and get my coffee out of the fridge. Bye.

  • looks good but isnt your "plunger" called a french press? and isnt there a diff in the grind for a press and a perkalater

  • yes it is a French press :) there is a diff grind time for the machine. About 1 minute.

  • we just ate snow ice cream its delicious... you need about 2 cereal bowls of clean snow.....1/4 cup of half and half...1/4 cup sugar..1tbs vaniall...2 tbs of flavored creamer(I like chocalate carmel, myself).. mix all but the snow for 1 min. til sugar dissolves... put snow into large mixing bowl.. pour ingrediaent over snow, (it looks like it isn't enough liqued, nut it is... mix for 5 minutes and serve... for milkshakes add additional 1 cup milk stir and drink. its soooooooooo good

  • Thanks, Rob, coffee is one of my passions (and my only addiction). Fresh ground coffee beats pre-ground and they both open a can of whoop-arse on the instant crap. At home, I have a press I picked up while in Japan, but at the firehouse, we have an automatic coffee maker. When I make coffee there, I add a couple shakes of sea salt to the top of the grinds, it makes for a smooth cup especially in places that have hard water. 5 *'s. Now off to make some (too much blood in my caffeine stream).
