@MsArnybarny Not 'politically incorrect'; more like 'politically subversive'. They were celebrating gay culture at a time when homosexuality was still illegal. Thank goodness we've moved on since then. (Well, most of us.)
god bless round the horne and kenneth williams he was so talented as an actor and comedian and marty feldmen and barry took must have had so much fun writing these scripts. How did they get away with it all . So Much Fun
Superb! Kenneth Horne is such a brilliant straight man, but when he comes out with a gag he's fantastic. Love this show. Gosh I was only 3 when this finished broadcasting. I forever thank my old friend who got me into it. A glass raised to Barry Took and Marty Feldman for wonderful writing.
"Morroccan-bound Poe" probably a play on the slang for lavatory "po" as was then in common use in Manchester at least (and probably other parts of t'North).
They were brilliantly filthy and good luck to them for getting away with it

Sunday's at two o'clock, if I remember rightly. Wonderful shows.

That's really weird seeing a cyclist stopping at red lights and staying off the pavement, not much rear observation though.
