I'm pretty sure an all wheel drive minivan is a better idea than a small SUV. It's not like the X3 goes off road well, and it would have a higher center of gravity and worse fuel economy/aerodynamics than an awd minivan. They could have just done that whole trip in a 3 series and had a ton of fun driving. I just don't see the point of the X3.

no one intersted in a X3 will find this review usefull, instead you should see how it changes lanes without using your blinkers, and see how it drives in the fast lane while eating, texting and putting on makeup at the same time.

I had the misfortune at a modest 6'2" to have to ride in the back seat of one of these.

After navigating the narrow door It was like being trapped in a small aircraft lavatory with all the obligatory stainless steely bits. I didn't understand any of the appeal from that vantage point.

21.8 MPG on 100% highway driving?! How is that anything but poor nowadays, especially from a nat aspirated V6.

@bg1379 It's only rated for 25mpg highway since it is a pretty large car...getting 3.2mpg below an EPA estimation is easy if you like putting your foot down on the gas.. The Toyota Highlander is also rated for 25mpg highway too, and that's considered fuel efficient for a V6 SUV..even they hybrid version only gets 28mpg.

Great video, except all you could find to do in Texas is go to the Dr. Pepper plant? All the other obscure thing you found in all the other states and you couldn't find anything else in Texas? If you were on Interstate 40 toward New Mexico, west of Amarillo you could have at least seen Cadillac Ranch. (btw I'm from Texas)
