It really doesn´t matter if he´s good or not. Calm down guys. He´s an awesome musician and yeah, he maybe plays just guitar on the bass. And he once said in his youth he played bass on a guitar, cuz his band had no bass. Stop comparing musicians. I have great respect for that man, if he´s a born bass player or not. Music isn´t about ability, it´s about expression.
@jashinzelt he only played bass on a guitar because he wanted to play bass in his first band and he went to a music store to 'apply' for a job but instead stole the first guitar he could get his hands on and stuff it into a guitar case, he was after a bass but due to the amount of time he had he got the wrong one by mistake, and thats a true story i read in his book this is gonna hurt
Come on, I'm a fuckin big fan of Mötley Crüe and Nikki Sixx, I think that he's a fuckin greeeat song writer, and very creative, but everybody know (even him) that he's not the best bass player ever.. his job as a bassist is awesome, but there are some people who play better.
ummm... real bass players know how to lock down the rhythm and accent the drums and guitar lines.... if all you're doing is playing another guitar part, then you're not really a bass player.
MC is put together in a pretty "traditional" way, in the sense that the bass primarily supports the guitar rather than stand as its own actor in the music. Nikki has done more with the bass in other songs that MC has recorded, however. He's the only one of the members that was never formally trained. What he's accomplished is pretty rare, and whether or not one finds him the greatest bass player, nothing takes away from that. He's got little to be ashamed of in this area of his life.
