Here's a handy tip; Give a pick axe to your follower and ask them to mine a vein while you mine another. Twice the ore, half the effort.

hit it slowly with a pick and you can get 3 ores out of a vein

I think if you hit it it gives you one less ore, but I'm not sure...

Heh.. the problem is, the current drops from a vein is Ore, jewel, ore. So when you first got ore from the vein, it got half the take. Then hitting it to show it off got the final score. But if feel hitting the vein with the pickaxe instead of interacting with it is faster... all the power to ya. :D

@Dayanth When I hit the vein with a pickaxe, I got three ore and no jewels. Can you get jewels from mining? I never have.
