  • I'm 15 year old and have loved Victoria Wood for a few years, people say she's old fashioned but in my eyes she's absolutely hilarious! Best woman comedian of all time! Sarah Millican reminds me of her! Best comedian ever!

  • @Jadiee121 I'm 14 and i love her too! If you like her, you'll love Morecambe and Wise! Have you heard of them? They inspired her, don't know if you'll love them as much as i do but you should have a look and see what you think! It's always good to see another young fan of old fashioned comedy! :D

  • Many people don't realise how talented Victoria Wood is - a brilliant comedian and writer, and a virtuoso pianist. Makes you sick.

  • @Matty09Magic hahaha, i'd never noticed thatbefore you mentioned it, so true

  • just fantastic!

  • she was great in the borrowers over Christmas! Her and Stephen Fry... oh and Christopher Eccleston, i was fab... miss her on the telly...

Rather watch the spinners... I love them too!

  • @fenric71 I only watched the borrowers, because she was in it, i really enjoyed it though.

Thanks for uploading this, I'm a real fan of Victoria

  • bend me over backwards over my hostest trolly.... love it! so funny. Need her back on the telly

  • @hellokitty101079 Totally Agree, we all need a laugh these days, and Victoria is the perfect one to give us a good old laugh

  • thanks love this so british!

  • Beat me on the bottom with the Women's Weekly! Love it.

  • 58 people haven't done it.

  • just watched Victoria Wood: Seen on TV and this was on there, couldnt have a programme with her and not this song !!

    Amazing !

  • magic

  • I sang this song to my mate as she washed my hair over the bath, I think I scared her a bit >.>

  • 58 people cant do it =)

  • Simply fantastic! What a girl! Victoria W also proves, amongst her many and varied talents, that clever is funny; not downright crass and rude - clever. They say that it's not what you do, it's the way that you do it. Baby, you've got it all, including my loose-fitting Y-fronts. About that northern thing, though - any chance of a chip butty? Or leave it to Peter Kay?

  • My hero

  • amazing i love her (: <3

  • Brilliant, simply brilliant.

  • loooooooooooooooooooove this song sooooooo much xx

  • Love this so much :D hilarious :) so much wittier than many comedians today!

  • @Evie49x we need her back on tv

  • Please can someone upload some Wood and Walters songs, I would be most greatful if you could, i don't know what the songs are called but one of them goes like

    "I'm awful in the mornings

    And I'm rotten at nights

    I never shut the windows

    Never turn out the lights

    I know I annoy you

And I make us have fights

    But I love you

Thanks :) and please can you tell me if any songs get uploaded thanks again. Oh by the way the song lyrics that I posted is from Wood and Walter DVD ep 3 thnks

  • 'Wear your baggy Y-Fronts with the loose elastic' and 'put an avocado on my lower portions' were the best lines XD

  • I'm not upper- or middle-class but I still like this.

  • funny wen she hurts her finer i was lmfao for an hour even after watching it 100 times

  • Comment removed

  • I would love to see some kind of collaboration, a duet or to-and-forth between Victoria Wood and Tim Minchin. They're both great at writing and performing hilarious musical numbers.

  • lol so this is the inspiration for the Doctor Who "Ballad of Russell and Julie" :)

  • @roosterheadedchicken Well, they got John Barrowman in, what else could you expect? XD

  • @roosterheadedchicken yes she is amazing isn't she, I couldn't stop laughing when i saw this first time round as a teenager! brilliant wish she would get back on the tv with a new series of something, dinnerladies was great....

  • "Beat me on the bottom with the woman's weekly!" :') gets me every time :L

  • @Jeffo193: you know I remember this song from when I was a kid, and the only line I remembered was that one "Beat me on the bottom with the woman's weekly!" - helped me find this video quicker!

  • I brought the DVD of this :) it's so funny you just have to bye it I also brought the DVD of her live stan up 1997 i think it's one of her best aswel as the albert hall it's the DVDs are brill ( buy it Now !!!!!)

  • wheres the rest?

  • I doubt anybody will ever top the genius that is Victoria Wood

  • @DEVOS1778 Nobody will top Victoria Wood

  • Lol I've watched this about 20 times and I still laugh!

  • Please up load her stand up from this show ( please don't send me a comment saying it's on amazon cause I know, but I would be greatful and it would save me alot of hassle)

  • Now that is brilliance

  • The 55 people who dislike this video are all called Barry. :o)

  • She is so clever and her material is still funny today. I love a wide range of comedy but she is an absolute legend, and manages to make all of her material funny without resorting to insults and swearing.

  • 100% brilliant - propper entertainment!! :-D

  • Pure Genius!!!! Victoria Wood show's again she's the first lady of comedy.

  • Fantastic video - thanks for posting it. Victoria Wood is a great entertainer :))

  • Did I claim you found those people funny? I used them as an example, but that was obviously way above your head.

No comedian is irrelevant if they still have a following (regardless of how crap they may be). And what exactly is today's 'comedy scene'? Not a great deal of funny comedians around these days.

Perhaps you should get yourself a Jim Davidson dvd, or Bernard Manning. Judging by your 'get the dinner ready' comment it's plain to see that crap sexist humour circa 1979 is your style.

  • do what ?

  • Still makes me laugh every time - I love this. Victoria Wood is wonderful :-)

  • 53 people have other little jobs on hand

  • Quite possibly the greatest comedy song ever!

  • This is absolute genius working class comedy

  • Time to go out and by a copy of "Woman's Weekly"!

  • People really need to start learning that if they don't like someone/something, don't bother searching specifically for them/it on YouTube, and then spending more time complaining to people who actually like the video

  • Genius :) I love this song :)

Someone commented that a 10 year old could have written this (that's a stupid comment, for a start) and that this comedy was for simple minds but it isn't and people who don't like it need to get a life and a sense of humor!! And if anybody dosen't like it look at how many people have liked it, and look at the audience they all laugh and at the end they all give a big round of appluse!!! I love this song and Victoria wood :) thanks got uploading

  • She's a fantastic person

  • C'mon, guys. I'm not a great lover of everything she's ever done, but this song is just plain terrific. I've listened to it any number of times over the years and I'm downright in awe of it as a piece of writing.

  • People who doesnt find this video even a little bit funny have not sense of humour at all and need to get a life.

  • so is she going to hand over her Murdoch money to the injured familes... or hang onto it like a tuppenny whore because she " believes in better"...?????

  • She is probably the most intelligent, witty comedian (man or woman) ever. A truly brilliant mind who produces fantastic work.

  • @Minus15LUFC another guy springs to mind here "tim minchin"

  • @rubbishrider861 haha, great joke there

  • @Minus15LUFC no no, im dead serious

  • @rubbishrider861 I understand why people like him and his music, but i just don't get him, i don't find his stuff funny.

  • @Minus15LUFC how many and which songs have you listened to? (some aren't as good as others, just curious, and also, what are your fave victoria wood songs? this being th top youtube result for victoria wood (i think tim's top youtube result is overrated), I am just interested to see that if maybe if i listen to her best song in someones opinion, and see if i'm missing anything here (but so far, in my opinion, from what I have seen tim is far better), maybe you can change my mind?)

  • @rubbishrider861 there are loads of Victoria Wood's songs and to be honest i don't see the funny side of tim at all

  • @rubbishrider861 tim minchin is no way as funny as Victoria Wood and never will be

  • Still, after all these years, one of the funniest things I've seen....

  • she's amazin i luv her

  • Brilliant!

  • this version was much better than the version she did on the bbc two years before

  • Pure Genius :)

  • Don't feed the trolls. Just enjoy this. Those who can't... well they can't do it.

  • How on earth can 52 people vote dislike on this video? Thats Madness!

  • I love Victoria Wood. Absolute legend!

  • proper legend ...genius

  • haha my mum went to school with her. she is a complete and utter legend

  • Anyone know the chords or piano music for this?

  • @songsfrommovies It's based on Cole Porter's 'Let's Do It, Let's Fall in Love' for which the sheet music should be readily available. Just speed it up slightly & modulate the key several times toward the end & you should be pretty close!

  • @Yickbob Thanks for that - I might have to try a remake.

  • @TimBrewin No probs - I love both Porter's & Victoria's versions, but there's always room for more!

  • @Yickbob I wouldn't presume to say anything I manage to do would be good enough for upload. Just for my pleasure really.

  • Stillettoes and an OVEN GLOVE! How very flirty.... LOL

  • I haven't seen that for about 20 years! Brilliant!

  • I saw this for the first time aged about 7. I'm 25 and it still makes me giggle every time! Never gets old!

  • Have you ever been in an abusive relationship? We have the answer, call 1-800-Pipe-and-slippers, that's 1-800 543565465225456435

  • It should have been Shirley and Barry .... lol

  • this is tooo funney

  • I just looked up Judith Chalmers.....that barry has BAD taste......no wonder people laughed at that line!

  • I love this song!

  • Morrissey loves her

  • what does she say from 2:25?

  • @samwula Don't starve a girl of her palaver dangle from the wardrobe in your balaclava!

  • @D832 :D

  • @samwula brittish shit

  • @Mondaynightmoron you cant do it :D

  • @samwula wtf i love this song im british i watch her ion tv i think you miss understood what i ment

  • @Mondaynightmoron good good :D sorry friend

  • @samwula chilax broesef

  • @samwula i remeber the 1st time i watched this it was new years and we were all drunk and it was so funney

  • @Mondaynightmoron Racist

  • @spark12222 your a soo fucking dumb its not even funney

  • @Mondaynightmoron You can't even spell "funny". It does not have an "e" in it. Get a life.

  • ...sorry, I thought this was Tim Minchin (should I stop being aroused now?)

  • @MrAggtee LOL

  • Mid 80's!! I remember this like it was yesterday..I'm officially a fossil.

  • Not gonna lie, I'm really not a fan od female comedians, I'm not sexist, it's just not my thing. However Victoria Wood is a genius. Absolutely hillarious :D

  • Brilliant!! I love how she writes all her own songs, She was way ahead of her time! Legend! <3 <3

  • @petshopboysfan1 ,

    Yup,me too,lol!

  • i laughed once or twice but not that much. its good though.

  • 49 people clicked the wrong button!

  • This is FANTASTIC fun!!!

  • Her finest moment

  • keep putting back to 1:28

  • i luv victoria wood shes a legend x

  • Along about 1:57 ... isn't that actress Patricia Hodge, most known to me as "Philida Erskine-Brown" of "Rumpole of the Bailey"? Just askin' ... she's certainly enjoying herself! ~_^

  • @SpudCommonTater ,

    Yup,it sure is her!

  • love victoria wood, totally awesome

  • Why does she have to smile whenever she manages to make the audience laugh? Don't get me wrong, but it seems to such a... female thing to do.

  • @RahmSifr I dont get you?

  • Victoria, I have my womens weekly to hand, present your bottom.

  • love this

  • love this woman.xx

  • bloody brilliant

  • In remember this from the first broadcast, absolutely fantastic!!!! Such fun!

  • Totally amazing! I remember when this was first broadcast, and consider it funnier than the 2009 version - but Victoria Wood is amazing! Great fun!!

  • Interesting to see how the audience LOVED this but if you watch a more recent version, she doesn't get as much laughter. Sex used to be funnier!

  • she's one of the best!!!!

  • Fantastic entertainer

  • Victoria Wood before the sex change and learning how to play guitar real good

  • @chicago251 feel free to have a go. remember and post your effort on youtube so we can all watch and give you constructive feedback :)

  • @FrenchRuby well said :)

  • @chicago251 agreed, she is very overrated.

  • @NikonSanz ................when did you have you sense of humour removed? it must have been a great surgeon

  • @NikonSanz if you think Richard is better than Victoria then you have problems.

  • @NikonSanz And Richard Pryor made jokes about addicts and homeless people, imitating voice and movement....real funny. At the end of the day everyone is entitled to their own opinion about comedians and what they find funny and not funny. If you don't find this video funny A) don't watch it and B) don't comment

  • Comment removed

  • @BornToBeABaggie @BornToBeABaggie I'll comment when I bloody well feel like it thanks, I dont mind if you like it, its comedy for simple minds. A 10 year old could have written this song.

  • @NikonSanz Oh, get over yourself, you pretentious twonk. There's room for many kinds of humour, and gentle comedy that spears the English middle classes is just as valid an art form as anything else. Wood's a cracking writer in the style of Alan Bennet who nails a particular flavour of Englishness, and she's performing a comical song to an audience of smart and talented professional actors, writers, journalists & comics, not an audience of village idiots. What the hell have YOU achieved?

  • @nomdesouris I'd rather be pretentious than deluded, and what have I Achieved? Im fucking far funnier than Victoria wood for a fucking start, especially seeing as she couldnt get a chuckle out of a hyena on laughing gas. These days shes been exposed as a dipsy fat bird with Zero relevance in comedy to anything or anybody other than comatosed radio 2 listeners who put their teeth in 1st thing in the morning.

  • @NikonSanz "Im fucking far funnier than Victoria wood for a fucking start". If that comment is anything to go by, no, you 'fucking' aren't.

  • @NikonSanz

I've never listened to radio 2 in my life and I dont have a false tooth in my head.

This woman has managed to survive in mainstream comedy for over 30 years. Come back when the likes of frankie Boyle, Pricky Gervais and Michael McIntyre are still filling the Albert Hall and then tell us that this woman is a 'dipsy fat bird'.

    Prick.

  • @LisaKee73 LOL Who fuck ever said Michael Mcintyre was funny...or Ricky Gervais for that matter? And Wood is finished and irrelvant in todays comedy scene.... you hear that love, so do me a favour...go put your tampon in and get the dinner ready.

  • @NikonSanz

And how sad and lonely are you to view a video of someone you purport to dislike, merely to troll and leave pathetic posts?

    What a knob

  • Comment removed

  • @LisaKee73 @LisaKee73 coming from fat bird with a tin foil hat talking about aliens, i find that statement ironic in the max. Go put your gurdle on and tuck it in love, youve said enough.

Ps. Jim Davidson is shit too, guess again.....moron.

  • @NikonSanz

Fat bird in a tin hat talking about aliens? Oh so you're trying to imply that I'm fat, sorry sweetheart you couldn't be more wrong.

Instead of trawling vids that you claim to hate why don't you get yourself out and talk to people, maybe you could entertain them with your age old sexist humour. Oh how I laughed at your 'girdle' joke. I can't wait for the inevitable 'what are you doing out of the kitchen' comment.

C'mon then Einstein, name some brilliant comedians

  • @NikonSanz they're called opinions, learn to respect other people's

  • @NikonSanz The others are correct. You are a complete twat!

  • "me mother sent a note saying you must excuse me" Genius :D:D

  • No dramas, give me my pyjamas, the only girl I'm mad about is Judith Chalmers !! So funny.

  • "Smear an avocado on me lower portions",bloody hilarious! Still got the video somewhere,I really must get around to getting it on dvd, lol. Saw her twice at the RAH and I honestly thought I was going to need oxygen!,probably coz I was in the cheap seats, way up in the gods were the altitude was thinner, lol.Well worth the shallow breathing though, well, perhaps the 3 'Sloanies' sat next to me didn't appreciate it! Somebody give her a damehood,NOW!

  • 45 people can't do it

  • Wow, I totally pit her up there with Noel Coward & Cole Porter... Leg end.

  • 45 people clearly haven't a clue what they are on about!!!

this woman is a legend!!! <3

  • @laurafinn1992

Legend? Really? I'm guessing you throw the word 'Genius' around too..

  • @RickySteveAndKarlFan Yeah what's wrong with that? I like the woman's sense of humour, IS THAT OK WITH YOU OR MUST WE ALL DIE OF LACK OF HAPPINESS IN OUR LIVES????

  • @RickySteveAndKarlFan Regardless of genius status, legend is certainly apt.

  • She's so hilarious. Bend me over backwards on my hostess trolly :D

  • This video actually has me in stitches. LEGEND!<3

  • BEAT ME ON THE BOTTOM WITH A WOMAN'S WEEKLY

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, victoria wood is a living legennnnnnnnnnnnnnnd ♥

  • Just watched Victoria perform this superb (and slightly updated) song on her Angina Monologues Show, in support of the British Heart Foundation. Still a truly awesome and funny performance from one of Britain's finest comedienne's.

  • Absolutely awesome (freaked out how young everyone - esp. Michael Grade - looks). Woman's Weekly and hostess trollies have never been the same since.

  • I listened to this song on head phones during a flight from London to Bahrain back in 1995, I played it over and over again it was so funny

  • wow bitches trolling on this amazing piece of comedy, just listen and laugh at her genius people ._.

  • This is just hilarious, Victoria Wood is such a legend :')

  • million times better than i remember!

  • cont. to hell!) wtf is the point just get a hold of yourselves and grow up (this is comin frm someone who is most likley younger thn u) its now turning into a competition to see who the best!! u sound like youre talkin politics or somethig with all of thhis messed up shit tht your yelling!! just like the fukin video add a smile and get the fuck on with your life!! (i dont get how this even started!!)

    sincerley

  • @everybody whos got involved with this stupid argument, this is absolute shit so what i someone made a comment someone else isnt happy with all of this is continued bullshit to see who can out do who ( btw i wont be replying so dont bother yelling at me) you are all just jumpin to conclusions about something that might have been misleading towards downs syndorme people or whatever ( im not trying to pick a fight but anyone who picks on people who have mental/physical/emotional problems can go t
