lol ur an idiot, when the vehicle has no back pressure or not enuff back pressure, u actually lose A LOT more power then u would think u gain by throwin on the fart cannon...unless u change the intake, and advance ur timing on cam shaft, u just look like a fat idiot revving his first car.

i would say the MX-3 is reliable car. I've been driving this car for more than 10 years now and it's been great. The sad part is that it doesn't have a lot of power mods, unless you swap the engine to KLZE. Hard to even put a turbo since it's a tight space. So it's now just my winter beater. I now have the MKV GTI, now that car is fast.

restricting gasses decreases power, removing that increases power, not by much though, probly only 5-10 horsepower if your lucky

@EmX3Ed you probably know by now since u made the comment 1 year ago. If you un-restrict too much for the exhaust u lose power because your engine simply isnt making enough pressure to give you horsepower.

its a straight pipe from the exhaust manifold to back of the car, thats why its so loud. Got 2 loud exhaust tickets in this car.

i like the idea of small capacity v6's, but in practice are they rly that good. a decent 1.8 inline 4 is always gonna be better. it does sound good thou!

I put 30,000 miles on that engine and it still ran great. 210,000 miles and has full power. keep ur opinions to urself buddy. And if u have that attitude on rev limitation, ud be posting comments alll dayyy longgg

I didn't mean to be offending or anything but hitting the limiter gives no comfort to the driver or the car.

it's sturdy because it's a mazda. mazda's small capacity V6 are a piece of automotive and engineering history and should be cherished and abused the right way.

i live in minnesota to, my dad is a car impounder and some guy gave him this car and no one took intrest in it but me, so he said if i can get it running i can have it, when i popped the hood and they saw the engine, they sure regreted ignoring it lol and all it needs is a starter and the battery need charging. i have 2 years to fix it until i get my license, can't wait :D

your throw out bearing is why its crawling forward while revvin and grinding your clutch isnt fully disengaging. and dont rev it to the limiter in neutral you'll float your valves, if i were you since your k8's smoking id spend 400 on a klde (probe gt motor) at a wreckers and swap it in when you do the clutch,etc. it bolts in all the wires hook up to the same sensors bolt -in 164 hp

Sold it cuz it cause the clutch ended up breaking, and the cv joints were goin out. Sold it for $1000 to my dumb neighbor tho, was all rusty too after the first winter i had it. I will for sure own another MX-3 in my life, because i loved this one so much.

I just bought a 86 Olds Cutlass so ill show some vids of that soon! my v8 in my oldsmobile has as much horsepower as this mazda, lol

you act like i dont know this. but when it comes to liter size of the acutal engine, the horse power is optimal, 1.8 liter, 135 horsepower, double that and u got 3.6 liters which is around the standard size for most v6's that have 175-200 horsepower if ur lucky. 1.8 +1.8 = 3.6, 135+135= 270 horse. DO MATH

I think it is the gearbox/diff that holds the MX3 back when you drop in a KLZE ...3500rpm is just when it starts to get interesting!

yes, standard with air intake and full exhaust. highest ive gone is 130 mph. seams like there should be a 6th gear huh? i always have a feeling to shift when im at 3500 rpms in 5th

i didnt take it out, you replace it with a "test pipe" for offroad use only, but whos stoppin me? lol. Go to ebay and look type in Mx3 test pipe, cheap 20-30$'s and will make ur car sound like a beast

When i first bought the car i could shift fine. Then after about 2 weeks i had a hard time shifting gears, clutch doesnt slip at all, just wont go into gear. When im giving it full throttle shifting out of 1st into 2nd, it just grinds. thus the slow shift in the vid, ill post another one showin my problem, hopefully somone can help me. Car shop says my clutch is going out, yet ive driven over 6000 miles on this apparently bad clutch. IF IT AINT BROKE, DONE FIX IT!

If u payed close attention u can tell that my car has a hard time shifting. At the beggining of the vid my car goes foward about a foot, thats with the clutch all the way in and in 1st gear. And at 1:53-1:55 in the video u can hear the grind. hard to shift fast when ur shits broke. so dont assume im a "bad driver"
