I was looking to buy a Pontiac G8 which is based on one of the Holden Commodore models. It looks pretty much the same except for the grille/fascia, and the badging. Of, course the steering wheel is on the left. I ended up buying a Pontiac G6, which is a midsize car with front wheel drive. The G8 would have been more fun to drive, but front wheel drive and traction control are a necessity in Northeast Ohio winters. Cool cars down under!

Take the stock 07' Maxima for a test drive after driving a VE Commodore - te difference will be PAINFULLY obvious.

Commodores VB-VZ are based off Opels, however aren't a rebadge like people think.

They still have their own unqiue characteristics that make them different from their German counterparts.

Actually who cares? Just drive your Falcon or Commodore. Both are pretty good cars anyway.

The VE was designed 100% over here, but still uses foreign parts.

The Falcon is arguably more Aussie, but not by much. Holden and Ford wouldn;t survive if they relied souly on local resourses, this is proven by the fact that in 2010 the Ford 6 in getting replaced by a American V6.

The Force 8 is an OK car, for its time - but it's time has passed. They need a whole new framework - For Me, Handling is MUCH more important than a gearbox. The FPV review isn't our best - granted - but it certainly is nothing on the VE range. Bring on the Orion Series Falcon, THEN we will have some competition in the market. Mind you, Falcon came CLOSE to Commodore in the December Sales figures...

L98 and LS2 are different states of tune, your getting the L98 with 367hp, in Australia there getting the LS2 with 414hp. The Aussies are in the process of getting the LS7 for there Commodore producing over 500hp. When the LS9 comes on song, they will get between 600-700hp.
