  • right after watching this i took what we had left of our Crest toothpaste, a dirty pair of socks and a water hose and went to work on the headlights of my 07 Altima...Wont say it made the new again( probably cuz i waited so long to clean them) but it damn sure made a huge differance...THANKS MOE

  • My cars has glass halo projectors. i ended up scratching them with the buffer..... you can just use a soft cloth dude its less of a risk scratching expensive headlights. worked great on the fog lamps though. thanks for the idea.

  • better but not great... i used the 3m; only 16 bucks from Amazon... my headlights look freakin awesome...

  • me too i use this for my 99 dodge neon is work very good

  • Magic!!! Good job, thanks.

  • Good. I just wouldn't rest the buffer on the hood of the car, especially if it did not belong to me. Just sayin. I'll give the toothpaste a try, thanks.

  • get a new car

  • Availible in 1080p?? what kind of camera is that?

  • That is so cool, I'm going outside right now and try it. Thanks for posting this.

  • I cleaned my teeth with window cleaner.

  • My 95 Neon has horrible headlights. I'll try this out. Lucky me, Neon's have small headlights :D

  • The comments on the video were enlightening concerning using any brand of tooth paste containing baking soda.

  • bad job. It does not look like new

  • looks like you just cleaned the dirt off it, instead of restoration..

  • I admire your process but , I used just the toothpaste, a little rubbing with a sock, and rinsed with cool water. My oxidated headlamps shined like brand new. The whole process took less than 10 minutes on both headlamps. I used Colgate and it worked great. Your procedure w. the buffing, windex, toothpaste etc, may be needed for badly oxidated headlamps. I did my neighbors Dodge Neon and her headlamps were far worse than yours and I simply applied the toothpaste, scrubbed and rinsed. Thanks

  • @mycatstoki Yeah im lazy! No scrubbing for me. LOL

  • @mycatstoki i used colgate toothpaste and it made my car feel like a peice of shit!!!

  • Using Toothpaste is not good, I have seen the corrosive impact on the plastic lens it also eats away the Paint you should be using tape to avoid contact with paint I do Professional Headlight Restoration, and I even seal headlights, If you don't know what your doing this is a cheap way to go but over all you can do more damage then good Stick to stuff that really works Headlight Restoration Kits by 3M are 19 bucks on eBay will get the job done right, Hire A pro if you don't know what your doing

  • i need to try this shit lol

  • jus saying it works

  • I used toothpaste on one of my 2002 RSX"s on the headlight and after 2 minutes per light and one application my headlights were noticablyclearer. I'm going to get a power polisher and make them even more clear. My other RSX is a 2002 Turbo Type-S but I put new JDM Type-R looking black background headlights on it

  • @MaddDogg81 Good for you....what does braggin about your cars have to do with cleaning headlights? Hmm....

  • why are u sparying that on there!!!!!

  • I did it just with toothpaste, a wet shirt, and an old toothbrush..! Worked with me in my Honda Civic EX 98

  • @jjm3264 i have the same lol except mines a hatchback and a cx not an ex

  • @CoreyDunn95 cool

  • lol its a neon

  • about how much does a buffer cost?

  • I don't think the window cleaner is necessary. Good idea just incase but...

Toothpaste doesn't even "whiten" teeth. All toothpaste mainly is, is baking soda or a solution of such called Scope. Baking soda doesn't break down as much or as fast as many other compounds. Buying the professional abrasive cleaners is doing just the same job as toothpase, cleaning by abrasion.

Nice vid! Should include a video of cleaning the inside! (:

  • @NelsonBC12 Yes its just about the abrasive quality of the toothpaste. The window cleaners more about cleaning up the toothpaste then anything.

  • @NelsonBC12 Toothpaste contains silica which acts as an abrasive on your teeth. That's why it works for headlights.

  • Easier to cover plates with a piece of paper, rather then removing.. :)

  • @whatsdare are you talking about license plates? We do not have front plates here just back.

  • @whatsdare SOME STATES ONLY REQUIRE REAR TAGS...IM FROM MARYLAND WE NEED BOTH....BUT AN EXAMPLE,,,,PENNSYLVANIA ONLY NEEDS THE REAR

  • @TheGaybtm18md canada ontaraio needs both plates where as canada quebec only needs the rear and same with albera ontario

  • Toothpaste 2 dollars, glass cleaner 5 bucks, Getting rid of that nasty yellow. Priceless!

  • does it rreally have to be crest?

  • @kozy69allthetime no lol

  • thanks for the vid man!

  • what would happen if u tryed this on ur paint job on ur car ?

  • what are you spraying on there?

  • @avenger527 just glass cleaner/windex

  • @moedogger21 there is a simpler way that is just as good i used ultrabrite and paper towels and it worked just as good on lights that were just as yellow as that neon and they looked almost new

  • OOHHH that explains it haha

  • It still looks a little dirty..not to mean though

  • @cm18cam yeah the first set had shit on the inside of them so they wouldnt come any cleaner the second set look brand new.

  • Sweet! I've heard of the toothpaste trick before but I always wondered if it really worked... Cool vid!

  • @Hog40305 thanks

  • We did this a few months ago in order to pass inspection. Didn't have a buffer, just used a damp rag, toothpaste (Colgate! lol) and lots of elbow grease. Have to do it again every couple of months, but it sure beats the cost of new headlight modules.

  • @steeljan yeah its definitely allot faster with a cheap buffer i would hate to do it by hand.

  • Those are plastic lenses I guess eh?

  • @threeque yes they are. just a trick that i learned awhile back and i was helping out my future wifes dad so thought that i would share.

  • @moedogger21 , Thats a great tip. A hell of a lot cheaper than replacing them.
