Then of course after you use Channel Mixer, you grayscale and then use Curves to finish it off.

Please stay away from black and white photography, because that regular Greyscale version looks MUCH better. Your converts version totally washes out the midtones and blows out the highlights and crushes the blacks. YUCK.

Greyscale is not the best way to go about things, but its better than what you did. Channel Mixer - Monochrome is the best way to greyscale an image, giving you tons of control.

On your 'Calculations convert' method, the whites are washed out and the blacks are way underexposed.

I also think that the standard 'Greyscale' is not the best method, but in this example it will be better.
