@VenomShotgunAz he didnt "scare them off of stalingrad"- they were actually fighting with great courage. but he was a very good sniper, sure. the germans were encircled at stalingrad after many months of heavy fighting and after gaining control over 90% of the city.

and to the story, its not proofed that this battle between könig and vassily really happened. but it could very well be. still, i'm not trying to take anything away from him, okay? :)

@1993heavenshallburn Zaitsevs group did scare the Germans quite a bit,one German veteran said "Just the mere mention of the name sniper Vassili Zaitsev sent a chill down our spines" In Stalingrad the average life expectancy for a Russian soldier was 24 hours,that was greatly reduced thanks to the actions by Zaitsev,Chekhov,and Medvedevs sniper's. Zaitsev did kill Koning,Konings scope can be seen in the Moscow A.F. museum,Konings hideout is still in Volgograd

so yes, they were scared. but they weren't scared off of stalingrad. they were defeated after a very long battle.

i dont wanna say anything bad about the russians, but its easy to put a scope into a cabinet and put a shield in front of it with "könig" written on it. just propaganda...
