Can there not be evidence of a Creator in the Creation?
Is there a real difference between the corruption that can occur in man's religion and man's science. The very problem I see in evolution science is the arrogance of being able to spin billions of years from a few very small snapshots. I also find this same arrogance in the physics sciences.

If you see a wall made of natural rock well masoned together, standing for 1000 years, and you just happen to come upon it. Are you going to think it's a naturally occurring wall? Not in the face of natural, logical & reasonable explanations that don't require some sort of creator.
The "painting requires a painter" or the "watchmaker" arguments are logically flawed simply because there is no evidence for a creator in the first place. No evidence of a creator = no evidence of a creation.
Evidence of a creator must necessary be exactly that. You can't declare a rock a creation and then argue that your declaration is the equivalent of evidence for anything.

yeah pretty sure we are talking about far more complex things than rocks. but let's keep it basic for you. If you see a wall made of natural rock well masoned together, standing for 1000 years, and you just happen to come upon it. Are you going to think it's a naturally occurring wall? It's very feasible that it could happen, in fact more so than spontaneous life statistically speaking. However, I'm fairly certain anyone would reason that the wall was built do to it's complexity.

How many ways can you repackage the watchmaker argument?
There are MANY examples of naturally occurring rock formations that appear as though they were "intelligently" designed but turn out to be entirely natural formations.
If I saw an obviously artificial construction, then I'd ask "who did this?"
However the existence of the rocks themselves isn't proof of a supernatural creator. They are naturally occurring objects, just like stars, planets, solar systems, galaxies, super clusters, etc.
