the first thing I remember seeing about Ron Paul on tv early in 2008 was a segment called,"Strippers for Ron Paul" and they had a stripper talking about why she was going to support him. To an openminded (no, not immoral) person like myself, I thought this must be some unusual politician, so I immediately went to find out more about him. Now I KNOW that the media was portraying him as a nut by doing this and the way they would talk about him, like you'd have to be crazy to consider him.

He's against the civil rights act 1964; my statement stands. Ron Paul thinks employers have the right to hire and fire people based on their race, and has said as much. Apparently your interpretation of the constitution makes this OK. Thankfully most people disagree :)

Racist articles were published over a period of some 10 years in that journal, which was published in his name. It was not just one isolated passage. I find it difficult to believe Ron Paul did not know a newsletter officially published in his name (called Ron Paul Political Report, in fact) had an openly racist bent for 10 years.
Interestingly, since you bring up MLK, the newsletter describes MLK as a "pro-Communist philanderer."
If you knew a business didn't hire people because of the color of their skin would you shop there? The civil rights act doesn't think you have the brains to make that kind of decision.
I would not if I knew about its practices, but there is no guarantee that I would know. And I have no doubt there are parts of America where people would shop in in those sorts of stores, regardless of their hiring policies.

As much as I would love to write in Ron Paul's name in on the ballot, I won't stand by and watch McCain-Palin get voted into office hoping that my vote for Ron will make a statement and help in the 2012 election. I have heard Obama say that his pastor led him to his Christian faith but I'm not sure what that means after the statements in his book, in his own words. What is his definition of a Christian? After he defines that, then one can decide his religious preference. I look to those who voted inappropriately in Congress. At the next election, those who failed to uphold our Constitution should be voted out. Then, and only then, will there be a credible chance of changing the direction of our country.

I don't live in a high crime area for a reason. The crime where I live is low. I refuse to live in fear and having a gun means I live in fear of MEN. MEN are the rapists, but not all men rape women. Racist articles were published over a period of some 10 years in that journal, which was published in his name. It was not just one isolated passage. I find it difficult to believe Ron Paul did not know a newsletter officially published in his name (called Ron Paul Political Report, in fact) had an openly racist bent for 10 years.
Interestingly, since you bring up MLK, the newsletter describes MLK as a "pro-Communist philanderer."

I would not if I knew about its practices, but there is no guarantee that I would know. And I have no doubt there are parts of America where people would shop in in those sorts of stores, regardless of their hiring policies.

God, I love Ron Paul. He is so honest, not trying to bs us, no one pulling his strings. He calls it how hes sees it, all the third parties do. Its not a popularity contest for these guys, its about making our country a better, more sustainable place. God bless these guys. The same state seems to be rising once again. But now it seems to be rising before the elections. How will the economy survive if this situation of doubt continues. As much as I would love to write in Ron Paul's name in on the ballot, I won't stand by and watch McCain-Palin get voted into office hoping that my vote for Ron will make a statement and help in the 2012 election. I may have taken my chances with a write-in for Ron before but with Palin involved, I cannot afford the risk of women's right being reduced to nothing over the next 4 years.

I agree with Ron Paul in the same way that I agreed with Nader in 2000. But remember that along with the Supreme Court Nader was instrumental in putting Bush into office, and we all know how that turned out. In this case, the evil of Neo-conservatism far outweighs whatever issues I may have with the Democrats. Nader said Bush and Gore were merely corporations in a suit, which is true, but America can not afford another George W. Bush, which is what we would get with Cryptkeeper McCain.

Can someone explain why Chomsky would think that Obama and McCain have similar of not the same foreign policy. They're obviously very different. I have heard Obama say that his pastor led him to his Christian faith but I'm not sure what that means after the statements in his book, in his own words. What is his definition of a Christian? After he defines that, then one can decide his religious preference. I look to those who voted inappropriately in Congress. At the next election, those who failed to uphold our Constitution should be voted out. Then, and only then, will there be a credible chance of changing the direction of our country.

I don't live in a high crime area for a reason. The crime where I live is low. I refuse to live in fear and having a gun means I live in fear of MEN. MEN are the rapists, but not all men rape women. I have two grown sons and when I was in my early 20's I had two abortions before I was ready to have children. I believe in pro-choice because I'm not a hypocrite. I had a friend from high school that had an illegal abortion by a doctor over 30 years ago. Abortion needs to stay legal.

gun control means that u have to rely on the Government to protect u when that rapist wants to have you.. sure they are always there to pull u over and give u a ticket but they wont be there to save ur life.. the govt runs social security and medicare and the dept of education.. all of which are horribly run.. u think ur health plan will some how be any different? u are naive to say the least..
