  • Wtf? Dat pink bitch is just a reskin of Sheenah -:C

    Lolcritizingthingsidontknowabout

  • Geez, even though this song plays so often, what with it being the main theme for all the fights with the gods, it's absolutely amazing. I can never get enough. XP

  • 今のテイルズシリーズは面白くない、TOP,TOD,TOEが最高。

  • @nomaneko12 completely agree \(^o^)/

  • Tales > Final Fanasty, Yes I went there.

  • ToPX > ToV, yes I went there

  • @KONPALegendz I love them both I'll play anything they throw out in english because I can't read Japanese

  • I think this BGM should be applied in every Tales game @_@ It's just so epic.

  • @XLycorisXkillsX its in tales of symphonia and one of the gaiden titles. its too epic not to be

  • MOST EPIC BATTLE BGM.

  • I never played this Tales Of, but when is this song played ? Don't spoil me if you have to XD

  • @Ch0s3tt3 This song plays when Chuck Norris brushes his teeth XD

  • @Ch0s3tt3 it plays when you fight summon creatures.

I must admit,it plays soo not enough during actual game. And God bless whoever was smart enough to put music player into SNES version =)

  • @Ch0s3tt3

It plays when ever you have a training montage.

  • Ohhhh tambien suena en Phantasia, sugeeeeee *¬*

  • Final FAntasy: Me attack..wait enemy attack...me attack-...wait enemy attack..screw this..

pick ups Tales of: Yeaww, now this is a true battle!

  • @goldensun003 Both were good games.

  • Which version?

  • Every RPG should be remade adopting the Tales standard.

  • @Pantagruelico that is INCREDIBLY stupid, as good as it is, it would kill variety. think about it, elder scrolls? fable? final fantasy? lunar? think of all the great RPG's that wouldnt exist if something as dumb as what you just said were allowed to occur. THINK man. its like saying all the FPS games should emulate halo...

oh wait they DO and thats why the genre is sucking right now.

  • @solar464 Uhh. Ok, I'll bite.

First, yeah, I guess variety's good when you can choose between the good, the bad and the crapiest.

Second, remakes don't destroy the original version, so yeah, no variety killer here sir.

    Third, you dumb fuck.

  • @Pantagruelico this was not about good and bad games, this was about different tastes, what your in the mood for, why the hell should we be stuck with only ONE flavor of gaming?

    you utter dumbass...

  • @solar464 Also, as I guess it wasn't clear from my first comment, I was talking about removing or replacing another paradigm in RPGs that, ta da!, is or was also a variety killer, which is turn based battles. And frankly, if I were to choose the 'RPG standard' between turn battles and the Tales system, there's no fucking doubt I'd go for the second, as probably would everyone else.

  • @Pantagruelico actually id rather keep my turn based battles, as it stands too many good things are dying off in gaming.

  • @Pantagruelico If I had to choose, I'd go for the tales system too, but thats the thing. We DON'T have to choose. The developers do.

  • @TheTolnoc more like we CAN'T choose...

  • honestly "tales of "is the best rpg series out there

  • A 15 year old Main character has to fight God like spirits

    Two words

    Lets go!!!

  • @neoneo23 The dude's 17 lol :D

  • Comment removed

  • @adikkuchan fail ?

  • @neoneo23 That's three words, if you conjugate them properly...

  • And this is one of the reasons why the Tales of... series got so popular. :)

  • What a fucking epic theme *^* i love this game!!!

  • @SnesRulez I haven't played, but I remember this song from Symphonia. Epicness.

  • @Evilweirdo0 yeah this song is even in symphonia :) i recommend you to play even at this game it's easy to find cause they are made it for Super Nintendo, Playstation, GameBoy Advance and PSP

  • Hey, check it out! Claude Kenni from Star Ocean 2 is the star of a Tales game.

That guy knows how to pick 'em.

  • Gah! Volt's freaking charge attack!

  • wtf is tales of symphonia similar to Tales of Phantasia?

  • i like ToS's fighting of the spirit better

  • Maybe so :P But the original Japanese Version of ToP for the SNES pronounces it Cress...or really Kuresu...or really クレス :O

  • Cless Alvein, Cress Albein, Cless Albein, Cress Alvein. Which is true? ;)

  • @777NihonSloan Cless because its in the originall ToP for the SNES

  • @777NihonSloan They're all correct. It's just that "L" and "R" are the same in "Japanese" and Japan is sort of lazy to use the "V" sound so they use "B" instead.

  • Tales of -series theme song ^^

  • @Artemiscat55 The original version is for SNES, but it has been so successful back then so an official PS1 Version has been made. Folowed by many for GBA and even the Nintendo DS, last I'm not too sure about

  • @Justforvisit I think it's also been ported to the PSP

  • @FREEofVEGETABLES Yup, had time to check it:

    15. Decembre 1995 SNES

    23. Decembre 1998 Playstation

    01. August 2001 GBA

    06. Septembre 2006 PSP

All release dates are the Japanese release dates

  • @Justforvisit sadly only version that has a worldwide release is the GBA, and the speech in that is horrible...

  • @DarkvindFromIllier Never the less a good story and epic game :)

  • @Artemiscat55 download SNES emulator and a english version of the rom, takes a whopping 3 minutes tho o.o

  • who cares which came first? tales of phantasia is BETTER

  • @BeastlyVoldemort NO

The TALES SERIES IN WHOLE IS BETTER!

  • so i was playing tales of symphonia and i was fighting a few people named Garr, something with melody in it -.- and some other chick that used her fists. are any of them from the previous tales games? i never played ToP nor have i played ToD

  • @McScreamo No, Tales of Symphonia is a couple hundred years before Tales of Phantasia, and all the other Tales games are in their own worlds with no connection to each other (except for Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World)

  • @McScreamo Garr is from Tales of Destiny (PS1), and then Melody and Farah are both from Tales of Eternia (Released in US as Tales of Destiny II for PS1). Don't confuse Tales of Eternia with Japan's Tales of Destiny II, which is a true sequel to Tales of Destiny.

  • @Blaze1616 Garr? Wrong, Woodrow, noob. u_u

  • @RalfJoness Same guy. Don't flame. It's dumb.

  • @McScreamo In my previous post I said her name was Melody. I apologize, it's Meredy. You saying Melody got me to write it. My apologies.

  • @Blaze1616 oh sorry, i could have sworn when fighting her it said "melody" but i was probably too much focused when trying to fight them. they were hard as f***!

  • I gotta take a shit.

  • Its really cool how Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Phantasia are related. =D The Future and the Past! ;D Plus Tales of Phantasia was the FIRST Tales Game in the Series. ^__^ Now all we need is a Tales of Symphonia 3!!! Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World was Great but I think they should make a 3rd one. ToT

  • @OYuanO

one with mithos as the protagonist and kratos, Yuan and martel being his companions :D

  • @Raulkklobos Oh yeah! :D I would love to see a Game about their past! XD Their might be some Secrets left unsaid about the past. =]

  • I also believe Tales of Vesperia takes play after this... though im not sure

  • @DeathBytheDagger Uhhhh, no

  • @Nheat9 Some tales games besides TOS TOP are connected

  • lol arche... i will never forget the time when i went to the colliseum and she "come on cless go get em' you sex machine!" i thought i was gonna die XD

  • @holykirby95

Which version was that? the official one or the infamous first translation by DeJap?

  • @ES21007 dejap

  • @holykirby95

    Oh yeah, I forgot...

EVERY EPIC LINE COMES FROM DEJAP.

Speaking of which, where are they now?

  • @ES21007 no the first translaton was more famous, people think the official GBA is inferior to the others

  • @PokeTwin2

Infamous does not mean not famous, it means... well... notorious, I guess. Tons of people loved it. And WHAT was I thinking? Of course that's from DeJap

  • @ES21007 I know Infamous means famous in a bad way, I was saying that the DeJap version was not infamous it was actually Famous compared to the GBA

  • @PokeTwin2

It was definitely both. It's... mature translation and ACTUALLY MAKING IT APPRECIABLE and even awesome makes it definitely both.

  • @PokeTwin2 Well...it is pretty bad

  • @holykirby95 I REMEMBER THAT! xD

  • @holykirby95 when did she say that?

  • @BeastlyVoldemort its in the snes version of the game you just have to enter the colliseum she says it every time you enter fun fact the actual reason she was nervous to see the unicorn is because you had to be pure and she lost her virginity before hand

  • Btw does Suzu actually join your team? i've only seen the anime and that was the first time I've ever seen her mentioned...so...

  • @sonic26000 from the PS1 version and onward, suzu is a recruitable party member. i never really used her, aside from getting as far as i could with her personal subquest. but her ninpo artes are pretty spiffy.

  • ARCHE?! Innocent face?! IMPOSSIBLE!

  • 精霊戦

  • Without it being Fan-Made this has got to be the best Fighting of the Spirit I've heard so far.

    <3

  • Arche: (wounder how Chester is like)

    Klarth: (I gonna look cool)

    Mint: First Aid-o

    Cless: (Im the fucking HERO)

Chester: Im fucking gonna kick youre ass Dhaos!!!

    Suzu: (Im a NINJA)

    They where never seen again

  • if this game takes place 4000 years after ToS then the people in this game are retarded

  • why does chester look like he is constipated

  • i dont like it as much as the ToS ver .w. sorry but yeah~.... but this was is REALY good :>

  • @wizersage

I seriously hate this remix. They removed the guitar and lack a slap bass to make to an epic song. It suck in comparison to but Tos and the original TOP.

  • @SgtThom

This is different than the in-game psx version. To me the Tales of Symphonia version sucks, it just has TOO much going on in it.

  • Cless/Cress looks like such a badass in that picture. o.o Mint looks young, Suzu looks... pissed. Chester... really pissed. Klarth looks younger, and Arche looks... o.x different...

  • guys all of the tales series are in the same world but different time periods like vesperia is a prequel to this top and tos

  • the girl with pink hair is suzu right? she hot!

  • @slitheryjuggler94 no, thats Arche. And for some reason, this pic does a terrible job at describing her personality

  • So damn epic. It would make a great addition to the Mario and Sonic soundtrack..... But thats just one doods oppinion

  • so why is garr meredy, and farah on the same team in the coliseum on tos. it was cool but never understood.

  • @tmacrules99 just a cameo, it wasnt supposed to make sense

  • cless: distortion blade

    mint: revitalize

    arche: meteor storm

    chester: wild rain!

that is the source to victory ....

  • DAMNED MAXWELL! STOP BOUNCING AROUND EVERYWHERE!

  • This theme is so cool! ^_^

  • I wish I had bought the GBA remake of this game. :/

  • @legomovieman94 Well... if you'd played ANY of the other versions of the game, you might be dissapointed with the name translations plus the voice acting is the worst I'd ever heard... If you want to play it though, might want to turn the voices off.

  • I love the original but Sixto's remix of this just takes it to an entirely different level.

  • EPIC! Makes me dance! BAILA BAILA!

  • For some reason this reminds me of megaman xD

  • I prefer the symphonia version ;)

  • Actually, the official history of the two games mention no where they they are connected. They're two separate games.

  • No, they're sequels. Phantasia takes place in Aselia, and Symphonia, in the beginning, takes place in Iselia. They are connected in other ways, too, like this very song, and the summon spirits, and the surname Fujibayashi, and.... well, a ton of stuff.

  • Does that mean that Sword of Mana and other Final Fantasy games are also related to Tales because they all have Mana Trees and similarly named Summon Spirits? If there's an official source that claims this, please direct me to it.

  • zzzz play both games then come back here, they're fucking related, symphonia was created with the intent to supplement the story created in phantasia

  • I have played both games and nothing is said about either games in symphonia or phantasia. Give me a quote from the game or something to prove it, not just your word.

  • @whitestrike01 no because the names used for the summon spirits and summons in final fantasy were taken from different mythologies and cultures(including the mana tree)For example Afreet(also spelled Ifit, Efreet, Ifreet, or Afrit) come from Islamic culture and Sylph(or Sylphid) is a mythological creature is Western tradition.

  • @WhiteStrike01 When did Final Fantasy ever use the term Mana or have Mana trees or anything like that?

Besides that, Symphonia is the prequel to Phantasia because there are several towns which have the same name. You find out what happened to Darris Kharlan. Plus there's the Mana tree, Yggdrasil. Both games has Martel being a part of the tree and if you're wondering why the tree has the name Yggdrasil, then beat Tales of Symphonia, it'll tell you. I'd tell you but it's got spoilers.

  • @mikigirl18 Don't get me wrong, I love the Tales of... series, but there is an entire "Mana" series by squaresoft, and a Mana Tree (used as a metaphor for Mother Nature in the game.) in it. Although that series is utter crap now. Although yerE, final fantasy never used Mana.

  • @WhiteStrike01 You're so set on proving this why? You know, you're wrong...

  • @WhiteStrike01 In Symphonia two, the reunited world looks almost EXACTLY like the one in Phantasia. And the World map theme is a remixed version of Phantasia's. This is intentional because they ARE the same world.

  • Comment removed

  • When is phantasia taken place, compared to symphonia?

  • I think... a couple hundred years or a thousand years after.

  • That pic of Arche is so misleading if you never played this game before.

  • Reminds me of Colette Brunel.

  • Comment removed

  • @r3di0n She is day-dreaming with Cless/Cress

  • @r3di0n Also if we never played the game it wouldnt matter... since we don't even know who Arche is lol.

  • Well Ice still existed in Phantasia.

I don't care whether or not I spelled their right. Ratatosk's Core has nothing to do with her healing powers.

They could have changed the name in the 100 year time period between Symphonia and Phantasia.

They lied about one of them being newly invented?

  • One of the best game of the SNES

  • I just dont understand why Maxwell used to be the most powerful summon spirit in TOS but somehow degraded into a mediocre spirit in TOP...

  • Tales of Phantasia is the first in the series so he really upgraded.

  • or storyline wise he downgraded >.> maybe he just got older and "replaced" XD still used him though no matter how bad/good he was even before i played TOS cause he was still cool

  • Great song, great game !!!!!

  • This makes me want to play gunbound fer some reason

  • it makes me want to RAWRRR

    and fight !!

    hypes me up

    battle themes ^_^

    one piece FTW!

  • ToS and ToP, aren't related... except by the fact that they are part of the Tales of series : like the FF series, they aren't related between them (except for ToS2 to ToS and ToD2 to ToD). They have the same meta-universe (specifics words and names, monsters, spirit, etc) like all the FFs or the DQs do.

  • Actually, they ARE related. They are both part of the Aselia timeline, ToP taking place 4000 years in the future. Martel, the Mana Seed, the World Tree, the Eternal Sword, Material Blades, Derris Kharlan, Ymir Forest where the elves live, the Rheairds, and many more concepts coincide with both games.

Yes, many of the Tales of games have many similarities when it comes to items and such, but it is clear with in-game evidence that ToS and ToP are related.

  • Catin is correct, this was most clear in tales of symphonia. When you overlap both worlds, they look remarkably similar to Aselia, the world in Tales of Phantasia. This was confirmed in the sequel Knight of Ratatok.

There are many, MANY things that connect the two games together. Heck, even 2 characters share the same surname.

  • @catindigamajig Also if you click on a bookshelf (cant remember what one) it says stuff about 2 moons and whatnot, as in sylvarant and tahtella (how you spell lol)

  • @catindigamajig But didn't the elves come from Derris-Kharlan in ToP? If that's the case, then it's impossible....

  • @sonic26000 Came from Derris Kharlan, then secluded themselves in the Ymir Forest.

  • @catindigamajig without saying that suzu fujibayashi ans sheen fushibayashi are both related, and chief of a ninja clan ( i suppose mizuho, but i dont know if the ninja clan in top is called mizuho as well, been ong i didnt play it) andm the most obvious of proof ... (spoil)

dhaos Yggdrasil, who wants to bring back derris kharlan to restore mana to the great tree.

  • Tales of Phantasia and Tales of Symphonia share the same world. It's confirmed.

  • I don't think they're in the same world, I mean how/why would Healing change from magic to "Divine Power," the Ice element disappear, Heimdal change its name to Elf Colony, the Rheiards were newly invented in both games, etc. I think it's like in Fire Emblem, weapons and certain magics are the same but they aren't the same world.

  • @WhatIddoforpie

    Naw.

  • Please present a better argument

  • @WhatIddoforpie

    Naw.

  • @WhatIddoforpie

    The ice element didn't disappear.

    Example: Ice Tornado, Ice Needles

They call healing Divine Power to support the fact that humans can't use magic.

Hiemdall was always the Elf Colony.

Techbird, not Rheiard, and how do you know the Rheiards were newly invented?

  • @DarknessUnleashed96

Yes, it did disappear, Ice Tornado and Ice Needles are water elemental

In ToS Raine could heal and she was a half-elf, the mayor in Belladem didn't know about Divine Power even though you say the games are connected, so he would have known but he didn't

No, Heimdal was the name of the village in ToS and Origin's altar stone thing in ToP

They were Rheiards in ToS, it's easier to call them both Rheiards, and they said they were newly invented.

  • Ice Tornado and Ice Needles were water?

Raine didn't have to be a half-elf, I meant people like Marta (Human) could use Divine Powers as they're only form of magic.

Heimdal and The Elf Colony are the same thing, Heimdal sometimes goes by the name of the Elf Colony.

The Rhieards or Techbirds are probably upgraded forms of the other. They are both carried in a Wing Pack aren't they?

  • Yes they were

She (Marta) has "Ratatosk's Core" on her forehead (and it's their, not they're)

No, that's wrong, in Elf Colony, Brambert refers to going to Heimdal to get Origin to fix the pact ring

No, Techbirds were newly invented and just because there's the wing pack doesn't mean it's the same, there's a Cid in each FF game and Mana's in more than just Tales, the same name doesn't confirm it.

  • Well, half or Ratatosk's core was on Marta's Forhead, half was in "Emil." That's why Marta could use magic in DoTNW. Otherwise, she couldn't have. That's why Genis and Raine could -- They're half-elves.

  • Easy way to tell, look at the last name of Suzu. Suzu Fujibayashi, sound familiar buddy?

  • Comment removed

  • @ZeldaLink239173

You idiot. Phantasia is the prequel to Symphonia. :I

  • Actually, Phantasia was released before Symphonia, but chronologically, Phantasia takes place 4,000 years AFTER Symphonia. Symphonia is the prequel to Phantasia. Therfore, Sheena Fujibayashi is Suzu Fujibayashi's ancestor.

  • @Epsilonyx

...Which is exactly what I meant. :I

  • @gizmobeam you put that Phantasia is the prequel to Symphonia. If by prequel you meant in order of release, then you are using the word incorrectly, because prequel means the earlier part of a story.

  • @Epsilonyx That would put gaps in the story...hmm I love this game to as much as the ff series 4-10 but if this is true the whole pact ring deal is bull shit. Sigh...lost a lil respect for the game designer but I still love the Tales series so whatever Tales of Eternia ftw Reid owns all.

  • @LoneWolff82

Dawn of the New World was a spin-off.

  • Nope, they are related.

  • Tales of Phantasia was first.....

  • @yamicin Well Tales of Symphonia is a prequel so you'd expect alot of the music to be the same. That said I prefer Symphonia's version.

  • not really the phantasia game came before symphonia and symphonia and phantasia are based on the same world same spirits same planet, but phantasias story is after symphonia.

  • where can i download this song its awsome!

  • It's been 4 weeks hahaah, if u still dont have this music, u can record it, i use Audacity, its for free and recorded sound comes up always in High quality, 100% the same as the one u recorded from.

  • Okay, seriously. The song is good in both games, they both are good games.. and from the sound of some of your comments, you didn't even finish Tales of Symphonia 2 since Emil is pretty awesome by the end of it. So, stop aruging on Youtube [instant fail] and just enjoy the song.

  • Lol I was just joking...

    Yeah flame wars is fail

Anyway I prefer Bad Ending of TOS2...cause it is more tragic and gives idea to AUs..lol

  • No mana for living beings (including nature) but it would still exist for everything else? Sounds nice, and I"ve heard that Phantasia is 3998 years after ToS2, so no one would need Mana anymore to live?

  • They adapted or MArtel sacrificed herself

so that the plante could live without mana

  • I love Tales of Phantasia, was my first game in the Tales Series when it got Dejapped (I didn't own a PS1).. and soon the series dethroned Final Fantasy as my favorite.
