I'd have to say, if Cartoon Network ever reconsiders anime for older audiences, Sgt. Frog would probably not even have to be edited; just slap a TV-PG D rating on it and it's good to go.

@SuperMarioFan81 no it wont. just cuz theres an edited tv version doesnt mean the uncut version wont exist. having an edited version on tv would actually HELP the show and raise popularity and sales. just cuz theres a second version of the show you like, it doesnt mean you have to watch the second version. i dont understand why fans cant realize all of this.

@fireredtrainer01 And if people think the censorship will be bad on Nicktoons (not that it would), they should read Manga. I don't know if you have but the Manga has a lot of fanservice (mildly nude girls, panty shots and other things that'll make the boys drool) and the Anime was toned down for kids. Yes, even in Japan, they have censorship (though not so strict like in America). Hell, Koyuki has a crush on Natsumi in the Manga and not so much in the Anime (more like BFFs).

@rentenhen You mean Giroro. Yeah, he's voiced by the same guy as Vegeta: Chris Sabat. Giroro and Vegeta are pretty similar in gruffness. Though Giroro loves Natsumi more than Vegeta loves (sorta, if at all) Bulma.

@Mariocake111 It could. It'd take a few edits every few episodes and some dialogue changes to make it more suitable for kids. Just like what they did with Dragon Ball Z Kai: they edit the content but keep the story and characters straight only the edits for SGT Frog would be more minor. Besides, it'd be a big hit on Nicktoons with this kind of wit and humor.

Besides, it's not really an adult show nor an Anime dubbed for adults so Adult Swim is probably a big stretch.

Also, Giroro's guns wouldn't be really taken out since they fire lasers and lasers are more kid friendly than bullets apparently. So no need to edit that. At best, they might be required to edit a few scenes involving his target at point-blank-range.

Besides, if you read the Manga, you'd know that the Anime is already censored even in Japan.

@GaarasIchibi88 Actually, it's pretty tame compared to Shin Chan or the Manga it's adapted from.

Plus, they can always alter the dialogue somewhat and make few edits and cuts to make it suitable for kids. Like replace the swears and cut out any too risque scenes like Kululu peeping on Aki in the showers. It wouldn't be impossible or too hard. Not to mention that kids shows in America tend to put in innuendos or funny implications like, say, Animaniacs.

@MrSalmon88 Um, what panty shots? In the Manga, there are plenty of upskirt shots but the SGT Frog Anime never showed any under garments of any kind (so far). If there were, Nicktoons could easily edit those scenes (I hope).

Besides, I've seen Anime which would never be shown for kids even in Japan. Higurashi, anyone? So don't claim that you know anything about me.

@MrSalmon88 There's this thing call video editing. Nicktoons would most likely edit the scene or delete it all together. I mean, Dragon Ball Z Kai airs on Nicktoons for kids and the uncut version is anything but tame. Despite edits, the TV version is the same as the uncut in story and characters. They even keep death.

SGT Frog is a very tame show in tone and can be shown for kids even in America. It just requires some visual and dialogue edits here and there for the TV broadcast in the U.S.

@MrSalmon88 You don't have to watch the "edited" version if you can get the uncut DVDs instead. The Nicktoons broadcast would be a way of boosting SGT Frog's popularity in the US as kids would watch it and who's to say that it wouldn't catch on?

And I know that my idea might not happen but if you ask me, it should. I love SGT Frog and I want it to be more popular than it is now. A TV broadcast on a channel like Nicktoons (which more people have access to) would really be great.

@TheUnveil no. no no no. no they don't. i have seasons 1 and 2 of this show and natsumi only says fuck once in the entire show and it's because she gets hit with a swear beam or something and it's bleeped out. thats the only time in the WHOLE show where fuck is said. If they said fuck a lot then why is this PG and why is it most popular with kids 8-16 in Japan? Because they dont say fuck. unless your watching online fansubs that hurt the industry and arent accurate -.-

@TheUnveil They don't really say fuck every episode. Only on rare occasions and it's even bleeped out. Besides, a little redubbing and it'd be good for Nicktoons. Hell, I can imagine them getting away with over 90% of the content with a TV-Y7 rating with little editing.
