@lumenaughty I was asking them to refrain from insults for one day. I do not think that was much to ask when I often say nothing to people who have a different view than I do. It is stereotyping to a degree of racism the way that many view our soldiers today. Many of these opinions are based on one of a handful of soldiers or on those giving orders as opposed to those receiving them.

I am a 63 year old veteran that got drafted in 1968. I didn't volunteer I was a slave like my Father and Grandfather. We need a concerted effort to wake up the guys in the military to what is really going down with the Corporate USA of Zionism. I would of thought that Oath Keepers would be that organization but I joined last year and didn't hear anything from them until they wanted more money.

It is stereotyping to a degree of racism the way that many view our soldiers today. Many of these opinions are based on one of a handful of soldiers or on those giving orders as opposed to those receiving them.

Perhaps people should consider judging vets and soldiers based on the individuals rather than collectively judging all soldiers based on the actions of a handful among thousands or on the orders given as opposed to those who are forced to follow them. @twn5858 I am familiar with the gulf of Tonkin. I agree my Dad got screwed, but one cannot categorize all soldiers based on the exception. They are drafted, as my Dad was, and their ass belongs to uncle Sam. Failure to follow orders can have a terrible effect on the lives of a soldier. I apologize to all for losing my temper. Mea Culpa.

There is only one other country that has followed the U.S. into every foreign adventure, and that's Australia. Yesterday, on the 11th of the 11th at 11:00, as we always do we observed a minute of silence to remember our fallen soldiers. As it is impossible for us to forget that we have sacrificed our men and women for the United States, I hope our American brothers and sisters also don't forget those who have sacrificed for the U.S. from lands abroad when you observe your Veterans Day.

Too many American and other nation's soldiers have died in the last 10 years in our so called attempts to spread "democracy" around the world. i hate it when people act like we do not need a strong military to protect the U.S.
the problem is when the elected leaders let everyone down and make horrible decisions about why we go to war...at that point our military is mis used and abused...but on another note just being the military does not make you a hero, heroes are heroes no matter their job, it is about having and doing what heroes do, not just wearing the uniform...last thing i wanted to do when i was in the USAF was kill people

@networkdongle Amen and TY for serving network! My Dad was the same way. He did three tours in Nam, the last one voluntarily to prevent his baby brother from having to go. He served the state we live in for 26 years and helped countless children get out of the system while working with juveniles. He is indeed a true hero and hearing people with 0 sense come in here and bash all vets collectively sent me off in a tirade. I simply can't tolerate stereotyping. It is no different than racism IMHO.

@twn5858 well, you might realize, one day, that people serve to "DEFEND" our nation and our "CONSTITUTION". is there a seperate military group you can join that Only DEFENDS American Soil and Never leaves the borders of our nation? Probably not. Therein lies the problem. Imagine if we had a "Defensive" Service? everyone would join that instead of the Offensive service, hence no foreign wars unless it is obviously needed beyond a shadow of a doubt and approved by "The People".

I'm not going to honor veterans that have been in the war. It is sad that people do not realize not only do vets face horrors of war, they face hate at home.
