  • great§!

  • That TV seems like it's in a really bad spot. I would be nervous tumbling around that! lol

  • I love how he couldn't do anything in this video when the 2 attackers came up fast... :D... He just kept repeating and doing stupid moves which were barely Aikido XD

  • MMA fighters train for the fight that they know they will have, Real martial artists train in the hopes theyll never have to fight

  • @kapoof2

    well said!

  • This last section is called "More Bullshit" now I am going to show how to defeat multiple blind attackers running around the room with their arms straight out...Watch as I flow like water...

  • I liked his reference to THE LAST SAMURAI and his real-world explanation that you have to practice and feel this technique you won't be able to learn it by watching.

  • I REALLY INTERESTED TO LEARN AIKIDO THAT'S WHY I MEMORIZED EVERY STEP OR MOVE IN THIS VIDEO.

  • @robert1970able I really hope you're joking

  • very advanced principles. i fell sorry for the people who passed aikido for something else.

  • i am i martial arts practitioner. i have studied Tang Soo Do, and a little Kenpo and TKD . i have the most respect for this instructor but i still think its funny how he references to the movie "the last samurai"...A teacher is supposed to make references like this but it just made me laugh.

  • Is that mat in his living room?

  • This is my favorite video among what I've seen from him so far. Again, he speaks with much clarity.

  • thanks alot very thanks

  • thanks

  • we did this in my class, with the difference that uke was coming at me and the only thing it did was to hold his palm touching mine as i move, eventually when i wanted i moved my hand to turn him to the ground, later on the sensei did the same to me, but i had to defend using the techniques i've learned so far....its amazing :)

  • this stuff will come in very handy in my mix martial arts programme. Thank You

  • @HomasterX Anyone who does MMA should train in at least one grappling technique lest he become fodder. In early MMA grappling arts dominated. Later, strikers made a comeback as they adapted their techniques and some of the more deadly grappling moves were banned. Now, it is imperative that one have a good grasp of both styles (even if you use only one) if one wants to compete seriously. I wish you all the best in your MMA career.

  • do you have a dvd from beginners to advanced?

  • Chris ur a very smart fellow!

  • Well done! Good explanation on the Aikido. G.

  • @ XxfuckthapolicexX.....If you did some research, then you would know that was born in 1882 not 1883 because Dr.sogaku Takeda ( a master of the art of aiki-jitsu) took on a young man of age 28 in 1910. The young man was Morihei Uyeshiba. He studied aiki-jitsu and soon developed his own ideas of aiki-jitsu into an art called Aikido. I might not of been 100% correct in my other statment.

  • Both of your statements are correct to an extent. Yes Aikido was influenced heavily from Diato Ryu Aikijutsu but Aikido is an emalgamation of actually 5 different forms of Jujutsu was well as Kenjutsu(sword ) and Sojutsu(spear). Ushebia studied many different forms of jujutsu and had recieved instructor or master ranking certification in them before eventually finding Sokuku Takeda many years later.

  • this is real shit

  • ok well main problem is nobody is talking about Aikido, everybody has some kind of MMA fever!! MMA makes ppl look tough (99.9% ego) This is Aikido its a martial ART treat it as such... Its fun its healthy people who want to learn to defend can without hurting someone....

  • If you didn't know, back before 1882 Aikido , Judo and Jujitsu were one and the same. It wasn't until then were they split up by Morihei Ueshiba, developing Aikido, and Jigoro Kano developed Judo from jujitsu.

  • Ueshiba was born in 1883... And Im pretty sure that he didn't develop Aikido the second his mom squeezed him out. Think It was a few years later! There is only one common denominator, Jujitsu is like the trunk of the family tree. Aikido is significantly different that's why its called Aikido. If they were one and the same it would still be called jujitsu. I Think Aikijutsu came between jujitsu and Aikido and Ueshiba is its father, a student of Aikijitsu.

  • Do attackers really attack like that?

  • @ASSBANG6969 no

  • Alrite, aikido will NEVER be in MMA. It has been BANNED because the techniques can break the bones of the opponent extremely easily. So stop trying to compare this to the MMA, just becuase the techniques are much too dangerous at those speeds

  • I would like to see Akido in MMA because the usual in MMA is BJJ,kick boxing, wrestling, brawling, greco, judo all of those are all of strength and aggression but akido is totally different to the fighting style everyone has!

  • just right

  • Yeah, hairy sweaty men in underwear 'wrassling' is definitely what they should aspire to be >_>

  • I agree, this method of in a harmony state of mine can be used in anything.

  • Has anyone seen Grand Master Lou Ferrer?

  • you gived up???? you should take a grammar class to asshole

  • too*

  • darn.. I gived up smoking for Aikido.

I tried to do it numerous times, somehwo my friend suggested me to try aikido, becouse i wanted to do some sports.. Then i realised that i need to givve up smoking, if I want to reach something. It was so easy.. ... I just gived it up.. with out any difficult. The passion for this art overtrew addictive habit which I thinked it was inpossible for me to give up.

  • lol

  • It all comes down to your overall willpower which Akido can help to Improve.

  • And that's very good commitment :)

  • That's cool, your grammar needs work but giving up something addictive to dedicate yourself to something is awesome.

  • @paskazy267 I once give up for judo in just one day

  • I love aikido . . forever I will follow aikido's principles. . It has changed my life very much . . Now I have become invincible but still humble . . I pity the people who doesn't understand aikido's ways

  • humble enough to call yourself invincible eh? thanks for your pity oh dear kind great sir

  • I wonder why you got 2 thumbs down, your comment seems totally reasonable

  • guys, any body knows the name of this instructore? ive been doing aikido for 3 years and hes by far the best ive seen, i like his explainations, how can i search for his videos?!

  • His name is Gary Boaz from Kansas City. "Gary Boaz has been training aikido for 17 years and is a 4th degree black belt under Fred Mastision Sensei of Aikido of Phoenix. He teach aikido, kyusho-jitsu, brazilian jiu-jitsu and defensive tactics"

  • many tnx man :)

  • cool, what belt are you?

  • My Man.. MMA is a sporting art.. it is not for combat, not for street situations.. if you train MMA for self-defense, it does NOTHING for you if you are simply over powered by your opponent.. obviously you don't read martial arts literature, because 99% of people say the same thing I am telling you.. the owner of my school where I take aikdio.. Darin Reissler.. he is in the martial arts hall of fame.. he'll tell you the exact same thing.. MMA = a sport.

  • MMA is a sport, Aikido is a martial art. MMA is about winning and being the best at the sport, Aikido is about avoiding conflict and when nessesary self defense. Both are forms of self improvement and are alot of fun. But the difference is MMA is a Sport not a Martial Art. MMA is for making a mutual fighter surrender in a ring with rules, Aikido is for self defense not just against fists but knives, swords (could be a machete now), staffs (pole perhaps), and firearms. Both rock only 1 is a MA.TY

  • however, as an irony to what both of you are saying, MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts. lol.

  • I totally agree, MMA is strong but it just isn't made to defend yourself from someone attacking you outside of a ring.

  • An mma person would be able to defend themselves. They're still training in forms of martial arts, just with a focus to compete. But that doesn't mean that suddenly because they're not in a ring and someone throws a punch that they wouldn't have a natural reaction.

  • I agree, but I think it's more in the same way a boxer would be able to defend himself. He doesn't specialize in actual fighting, he just has some idea about it.
