the main reason being that honda has a very successful solo career while miyazaki wasn't as lucky (has only released one studio album and hasn't been on tour whereas honda has around 10 studio albums a couple of live albums/dvds and tours every year)
Yeah, but look at Issei Noro (Casiopea Guitarist), he released a few Solo albums, while being a member of Casiopea as well. His solo Career wasn't too good either but he performed as a Solo artist AND as a member of Casiopea... And why did Issei even start a Solo Career? He was Casiopea's Lead Performer anyway...
miyazaki still isn't back with t-square, he toured with them for the 30th anniversary tour, but the new album has no mention of him and he isn't touring with them....so its not really all that much...the current t-square is takeshi itoh and masahiro andoh....the "original" drummer and bassist are now part of voice of elements who were featured on a masato honda album (the dvd is on youtube look it up)....in reality, t-square is still around but isn't the same entity as t-square from 1985-2000
Takahiro Miyazaki plays Alto Saxophone on Track 9 (and only Track 9) of the new "Discoveries" album called "Smile Smile Smile". I think "Smile Smile Smile" is arranged just like the "Adventures" song in this Video, featuring Big Band Brass. And Takahiro Miyazaki playing Saxophone, not as Lead, but in the Background.
By any chance, have you ever gone to Gonsiopea(.)com?
Go there, and click on the picture of T-Square's "Discoveries".
In the Credits (of "Discoveries") Takahiro Miyazaki is shown, and apparently, he played Alto Saxophone in the song from "Discoveries" called "Smile Smile Smile". Most likely, Takahiro played the same Saxophone part that he plays on "Adventures", from this Video.
But he showed up in 2 Studio Albums with T-Square (Discoveries and Wonderful Days).
yes because Takahiro doesnt do anything else but teach on the side...he's not pursuing his solo career anymore. Honda is releasing yet another album this Christmas. His work IMO has a pretty large following comparable to T-Square, Dimension and Casiopeia. If he wasn't touring year round and recording new albums, I'm sure he would join T-Square for the reunions.
it might also be that T-Square doesn't want him back...meaning that there is some rift between Honda and Ando...I mean, he has to be INVITED back in the first place. he did do Toshiki Kadomatsu's reunion tour with his own bass player, Aoki...so I'm sure if Honda was invited to come back and play he would.
then maybe Itoh? who knows? I'm sure if they asked him he would do it...he did Toshiki Kadomatsu's 30th anniversary after not being in the group since the late 80s
It's possible that Itoh and Honda have a bit of problems. That explains why Itoh didn't show up for "Farewell and Welcome 1998". But he DID show up for the 20th Anniversary on the same year...
wouldn't make sense for Itoh to show up for the Farewell and Welcome 1998...it was Masato Honda's (and Hirotaka Izumi's) Farewell and the Welcome of Takahiro Miyazaki and the new piano player. Itoh played in the Farewell and Welcome 1991 when Honda showed up on the scene with Izumi and Itoh and the old piano player left...but whatever...I hope Honda plays for the 35th anniversary in a couple of years...the 25th and 30th anniversaries just don't have the same energy the 20th had...
True that. The 30th was cool, it had a 5-Man Drum battle, 25th was great, with a Brass Section in on the Arrangements, but when it comes down to it, the 20th was the Best T-Square Anniversary.
anyway do you know t-squre song "Juichigatsuno ame" or something... (sorry i hear that song in 1999 and never find the cassette again and i forgot that song title exactly)
please share it if somebody have it or know the link for that song, thanks

This is great but where's Masato Honda?

You know what's Really Odd? Takahiro Miyazaki and Takeshi Itoh are BOTH in T-Square since 2008... But Masato Honda never showed up since 1998

I doubt there's problems between Honda and Andoh. T-Square played Megalith even AFTER Honda left. And Honda wrote Megalith, not Andoh.
