they get paid when their music is sampled. there are ppl who make a living id'ing samples for artists. there are companies who all they do is clear samples for artists. what ur missing is the fact that real producers pay A LOT of money to clear out record stores looking for samples. its an appreciation for the vast amount of real music that once existed. hip hop started with samples bcuz thats basically what a dj was doing mixing a song back & forth at the beat break in a song. thats hip hop man
This is 1970:s soul at its best! The first 20 seconds are pure magic! wonderful background vocals and arrangements and a great drum groove throughout the whole song. Love it! Thanks for uploading this.

I would not ever scall it stealing I'm sure he was paid 9if he wprote the song and handled his business correctly) Through sampling we bring a new audience to Tom Brock.
Man, HE SURE DID. As much as a fan of Hip Hop I am being 37, DAMN we are the biggest thiefs of the original works of these great artists of the past. All that hard work they put in to arrange, compose, and produce these original masterpieces .......Guys in hip-hop are making money UNSEEN off of the blood, sweat, and tears of artists like Tom BROCK. Jay-Z sampled another song of his for that cut Girls, girls, girls back in the day.
Nah man. Not really. Considering Im 22 and without sampling Id never heard this song. Songs that get sampled collect an upfront fee plus sometimes a percentage of total sales. So they get paid, Not to mentioned More listeners -> More Popularity -> More Sales. It aint "thievery", Its more like payin homage.
