I believe kyokushin skill should be better than taekwondo goju ryu and shotokan. Why? Mas oyama studied all 3 of those styles. To create your own style of karate you have to improve what you have been taught.
@pastropmal Really youtube mas oyama taekwondo are is that a bullshit video maybe i am mistaken i am pretty sure he studied goju ryu and shotokan maybe he didn't study taekwondo however i do think kyokushin is way more effective than taekwondo. After all taekwondo guys spar with there hands down. Kyokushin guys punch and kick that has something to say about training.
@pastropmal Really my English your that insecure about yourself that you would bring up my English. What's poor and stupid about that is you haven't heard me talking have you? No and what i said was it should be better. Anyone who trains in martial arts should know that if you train in more than one art each art you train in should be better than the last because with previous training you can add on techniques and adapt previous principles making your art more complete.
@lococavasa I simply wanted to explain, why I was confused about what you wrote, as to tell that I am not sure if I can answer to it right, if I understood wrong.
Well, if talking about simply one's own training in martial arts, there is no saying weather two styles would make them better than just one style. There is so many things where it depends on. And about crating a new style... Well, ther's no proof of that whn you take a lot from different styles and make that
@lococavasa a new style, it would be any better. I mean it's always been done. The creator of taekwondo took from others, combined and he had a new style which should bee better than the others made before.... And the same thing with goju-ryu and shotokan. And Kyokushin.
@pastropmal And not just about grappling, boxing, wrestling, kicking. Every ma specializes in an area of combat i.e. for example shotokan teaches timing and distance it is a one strike art. Grappling teaches you to get in close and close the gap each art can teaches you to combat weakness of other arts. It may not be your goal to improve your training but it is mine and for the note on my English fuck off and go suck a dick ass hole.
@TheLoxUK well, a pure thai does'nt go over 80-85kg in average if trianed, k1 being mainly heavyweights, it was not that difficult. Even many karate fighters had great results in k&, it's not like thai and kickboxers had no chance aainst them (leBanner,Hunt,Overeem,CroCop,Sefo are all on thai and kick sied where Aerts,Hug,Texeira,Schilt,Musashi are on karate side)
They all trianed hard to get to the top and frankly, they only trained kick for k1 and rarely karate to no get bad habits in fights.
I don't think people quite understand this concept: Kyokushin has punches to the face; they just don't allow it in competition. There is a distinct difference between a martial art and competition rules. The martial art of Kyokushin teaches punches, back fists, knife hand strikes, elbows, etc. to the face as well as kicks to the groin, side kicks to the knee joint, etc. The competition rules do not allow for many of these techniques because it's too dangerous.
@timmythealien that depends on the dojo, some schools of kyokushin do their own style of training to incorporate face punches, they just put in the mouth-guard and wrap the fists or throw on some head-gear. I get boxing practice off my sensei to make up for the lack of people who can reach me with a head kick, my guard was becoming downright awful, like something you'd see in wwe, now it's nice again.
@jackcustow correct !!! but don't be fazed just yet, although kyokushin does not spar using face or head punches (kicks are allowed), the heirachy in the art form have realized how important learning to defend one's self against a face/head punch is, sooo they have incorporated certain drills to accomadate this, if you are lucky to get a good kyokushin teacher, he will drill you in this until it becomes second nature
To punch someone in the face in the street in this style you have to practice not only competition tecniques or else I imagine you only fight like in competition.
kyokushin karate is awesome i practice tkd and would rather go into a kyokushin tournament rather than a tkd tournament. anyone know of any in sydney Australia
I practise Kyokushinkai, those mentioning head punches need to understand that training and sparring regularly with no head gear would result in mangled faces! You CANNOT fight bare-knuckled to the face regualrly, the injuries would be horrendous. Idiots.
likewise, got my first class on Nov 2nd, so excited im even lookin forward to gettin my arse kicked in sparring/kumite. good luck, hope it goes well for you. OSU!
what did he do to you ??? don't you ahve any repect for a dead man, that dedicated his life to a martial art, fought all around the world (punches allowed to the head ) and won every single fight in his life. what did you do ?? besides judging ??
