When Iran eventually develops a nuclear weapn, they will waste no time in accomplishing their stated goals of destroying Israel and escalating islamic terroism against western countries. Without nuclear weapons, Iran lacks the firepower and air dominance to effectively wage a war outside of their borders.

Absolutely true. Its actually sad to see Ron Paul believing Iran could take over the Persian gulf, when their leaders are extremely into dialogue among nations (even Latinamericans like mine). It takes to see the media: Western media (+Al Jazeera) only shows terrorism and the impossibility of dialogue, while conservative traditional and official Iranian media shows nothing but the sincere will of brotherhood among nations instead of invasions.

Iran would be acting in self-defense in whatever actions they take against U.S. forces in the region. They have no air force and no navy. Iran in no way poses a threat to the United States. Ron Paul does not see Iran as a threat. When Iran eventually develops a nuclear weapn, they will waste no time in accomplishing their stated goals of destroying Israel and escalating islamic terroism against western countries. Without nuclear weapons, Iran lacks the firepower and air dominance to effectively wage a war outside of their borders.
