HDTVs are like new medicine. You have to find someone who owned one that worked great for a long time with no side effects then go and buy that old model brand new.
Even tho ppl tend to buy new tvs while their old one still works the new HDTVs goes out early forcing you to buy a new TV I know now to never buy a sharp TV period
@ottawa20101 dude tnx for all your comments. you seem to care about it and I appreciate this. I have some electronic background. I might open its case one day to take a look... will let you know ;)
it looks a lot like the Capacitor or Capacitor,s both might need to be replaced you can do it your self if you write down the voltage and info for the Capacitors in your tv and then go to your local tv parts store and tell them the name and model of your tv, but if you do this your self you will need a soldering gun and a bit of skill...so if your worried about busting your tv your self have a repairman do it.

it looks like you need to replace one of the following 3 the upper or lower y buffer boards or the Capacitor check with a repair man about this.

Doesn't it have warranty? It's only 6 months away...

@jorden2003 no, it's a refurbished product so it's out of warranty.

Called Sharp and finally it seems the main board needs to be replaced ($350). I bought the TV for $700 about 6 months ago. Here are the options:
1. Do the replacement
2. Live with the problem until the TV dies
3. Open it myself or seek unauthorized service centers
