Filipinos have been playing the sport since the 1900's. in terms of population, the Philippines is one of the largest in the world. THEN you have to account for the filipino diaspora. So naturally the Phillippines has a large pool to draw talent from. Yet there has never been a Filipino NBA player, and for the past 40 years the Philippines has not won any major tournaments.
