  • Great playing and singing! The lesson would much be appreciated!

  • Hehe....go for it Niven! All good brother.

  • Hey I am a massive r.l.b fan and I wad just wondering what tuning you had your guitar in? As far as u can figure out e,b and top e are in standard.

  • @Tchock16... Yo! Yo! Yo! ..... You got it dude! Spot on... I am in standard playin' out of "E" Minor.

Lotsa folks seem to think "Jumper on the Line" is in some kind of open tuninng but Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! R.L. more often did play out of open "G" but not this number... Well spotted!

  • @dhaeze... No, there is no lesson yet but I have promised that if enough people take an interest in wanting to learn my interpretation of "Hill Country Style Blues" I will put some lessons together aimed at beginners.

If you look at my "Poor Black Mattie" uploads you will see "Support Counters". When one of these counters reaches 250 I will post some lessons. Every time someone makes a supportive comment or adds a thumbs up to "If you wanna vote in favour" then a supporters point is added.

  • Please put out a lesson with tabs on how to play this. Such a great groove. Thanks a lot.

  • where's the lesson?

  • Great playing. I'm a huge Hill Country music fan and your playing is right on the money. Can never hear enough of this stuff.

  • I saw RL Burnside perform I guess a little over 10 years ago at a blues festival in Red Bank NJ. He played solo I think on a strat, he totally blew the place away. Knocked the shit out of me, I had never heard anything like it before. When he was done I felt like I got run over by a truck. It was F*cking riveting, he brought you in and he kept you there. You my friend Spottytoad made me cry because you reminded me of that night.

  • @mongoose707tt... Praise doesn't get any better than that..... Thank you.

  • how did you learn this? I mean the right hand technique, ive been trying to figure it out for ages

  • @carthagepropaganda..... I figured it out by ear, it's much harder than it looks and there is an awful lot more for me to learn. I think I might be on the right tracks although I'm foced to re-think my approach every time I listen to R.L.... His playing continues to astound me.

  • So you said say smething in your comment box. I think its not a matter of how many people want to learn its the fact that they need to learn and this stuff needs to be out on youtube. Your amazing, id like to add you to my list of teachers.

  • It's really good. Are you in open tuning? What key?

  • @sfzendog... Standard tuning - "E" minor.

  • right on right on

  • If you wanna vote in favour of me putting a "Hill Country Style" guitar lesson together then just click on the thumbs up button next to this comment.....

Thanks for your encouragement and all your wonderful comments!

  • Beautiful, right on brother.

  • Fantastic!!

I think you have the feel and groove down as well as anyone I've heard to date. I'd be really grateful for a video lesson on how to play this and other Hill Country classics.

  • classic stuff

  • Keep up the good work Sir, you're on the the right line !!

Rough & straight, that's how those blues should sounds...

& I would particularly appreciate your arrangement of this song for it's a tricky one.

    Take care.

  • Great playing!! how can I learn to play like that?

  • @amacgregorstudio..... Vote in the comments box of my "Poor Black Mattie" uploads and when I am sure that I have enough supporters who want to learn my take on "Mississippi Hill Country style" guitar I will post a series of lessons aimed at beginners.

  • Great to hear and see you again, looking forward to more!
