I can't stand it when people throw back bullshit about diggers having ""fought under that flag".
They actually fought under the British flag, and first and foremost they fought to stay alive. They fought to get back home to their families...and to bring their mates back with them.
People who want to keep the imperial flag, I find, are either grossly misinformed about many facts or xenophobic.

On which "caskets of kings and queens " was the Australian Flag draped?
The Union Jack may have been draped on Victoria's and on George 5th and George 6th's caskets but I doubt the Australian flag would have been.
