This song is like punk rock, you can hear it in the original version and the the live performances from 81-82. This sounds like a cover band in Vegas playing it.

You're right, the people who diss Keith are the same folks he was probably thinking about when he wrote "Dead Flowers". He'll be putting dead flower on ur grave. I saw the Stones twice in Germany in the early 80's & Keith did 'Little T&A' damned good. The venues they were forced to play in sucked so the acoustics sucked but, their voices & the "shows" were spot on. Then saw them twice in the states after that . Plus saw Keith do work with New Barbarians in 79. He was wasted & did great work.

I Miss the 70's & 80's Stones that used to get up and just purely jam! None of this horn crap in the background and all this overdoing it while singing. Compared to other concert versions of this song, this version is really, realy bad. I'm the biggest fan you'll ever meet, but this makes me cringe. Drop the horns and fancy backup singers and just jam like you used to boys! And yes, without Bill Wyman they just do not sound the same. They lost the stones sound right around Steel Wheels tour.
Why don't he just put the guitar down and concentrate on reading the lyrics on the prompter? This is really bad. I don't know if he's drunk, burnt out, or just hamming it up. The words he's singing don't even make sense, and I think through the whole song he's played about 30 seconds of it on the guitar. This is a far cry from the 81' version.
I completely agree with you. I went to see *Shine A Light*, and Mick called Keith over to sing with him on "Faraway Eyes." Keith had no idea what the lyrics were, so he just belted these godawful sounds into the mic. I ended up yelling "Learn the f**cking lyrics!" at the screen like some kind of crazy person.
You know nothing about the Stones. They have had horns on every tour since 1970, Thanks to the great Bobby Keys. He also played on every album from 1969 to 1974. Horns have always been a big part of their sound. I can't believe you can even consider yourself a fan.
I know a lot about the Stones. Yes, they've had Bobby Keys and they've had Ernie Watts, but it wasn't until 1989 Steel Wheels until they brought out a bigger brass sound. Listen to all of the other concerts and compare them to Steel Wheels and every other concert they've done since. You tell me what sets these concerts apart from say the Still Life album or even Love You Live, which is not a good live album. What sets them apart is more horns. They are using more and more horns. Omg, this gig is fucking amazing! I own this on the Bigger Bang Tour DVD, don't know what some people here are talking about! To be honest, I won't be expecting much from 4 60 something years old guy, but hey, they did absolutely fantastic. Their vocal performance are even better than the 80s! I can say that hardly any band nowadays can do a performance like this!

@karl198 Um, he barely plays at all. Keith playing that main riff is what makes this song special. In this version it's replaced with horns. This song is like punk rock, you can hear it in the original version and the the live performances from 81-82. This sounds like a cover band in Vegas playing it.

Great Great song and version... I really do like how they do T&A now with the horns... And keith is amazing when he uses his black gibson ES335... He messes the lyrics some, but it's his song so nobody can really bash that... Great guitar playing

You're right, the people who diss Keith are the same folks he was probably thinking about when he wrote "Dead Flowers". He'll be putting dead flower on ur grave. I saw the Stones twice in Germany in the early 80's & Keith did 'Little T&A' damned good. The venues they were forced to play in sucked so the acoustics sucked but, their voices & the "shows" were spot on. Then saw them twice in the states after that . Plus saw Keith do work with New Barbarians in 79. He was wasted & did great work.

Yeah, compared to that, this sucks. I'm the biggest Stones' fan you'll find but this is awful. This song should not have a 10 piece brass section..Especially the cringe part at 1:36 when they take the song into the bridge....uggggg This is way too slow, check out Live In Seattle 1981 everbody. Then you'll really love the song.

I Miss the 70's & 80's Stones that used to get up and just purely jam! None of this horn crap in the background and all this overdoing it while singing. Compared to other concert versions of this song, this version is really, realy bad. I'm the biggest fan you'll ever meet, but this makes me cringe. Drop the horns and fancy backup singers and just jam like you used to boys! And yes, without Bill Wyman they just do not sound the same. They lost the stones sound right around Steel Wheels tour.

Why don't he just put the guitar down and concentrate on reading the lyrics on the prompter? This is really bad. I don't know if he's drunk, burnt out, or just hamming it up. The words he's singing don't even make sense, and I think through the whole song he's played about 30 seconds of it on the guitar. This is a far cry from the 81' version.

I completely agree with you. I went to see *Shine A Light*, and Mick called Keith over to sing with him on "Faraway Eyes." Keith had no idea what the lyrics were, so he just belted these godawful sounds into the mic. I ended up yelling "Learn the f**cking lyrics!" at the screen like some kind of crazy person.

You know nothing about the Stones. They have had horns on every tour since 1970, Thanks to the great Bobby Keys. He also played on every album from 1969 to 1974. Horns have always been a big part of their sound. I can't believe you can even consider yourself a fan.

I know a lot about the Stones. Yes, they've had Bobby Keys and they've had Ernie Watts, but it wasn't until 1989 Steel Wheels until they brought out a bigger brass sound. Listen to all of the other concerts and compare them to Steel Wheels and every other concert they've done since. You tell me what sets these concerts apart from say the Still Life album or even Love You Live, which is not a good live album. What sets them apart is more horns. They are using more and more horns. Cool down buddy.

Omg, this gig is fucking amazing! I own this on the Bigger Bang Tour DVD, don't know what some people here are talking about! To be honest, I won't be expecting much from 4 60 something years old guy, but hey, they did absolutely fantastic. Their vocal performance are even better than the 80s! I can say that hardly any band nowadays can do a performance like this!

Don't get me wrong, I love this band and this is one of my fav. songs by them, but they are butchering this.....time to move on unfortunately we all get old but don't become a parady of yourself 25 years ago. give it up, this is like a bad cover band. Its depressing really. Just age gracefully and do some new material even if its not popular look at Dylan making music most people don't like but at least he's not trying to be a young version of himself in his prime.
