@Birdman1277 When I was a kid the three speed tank shift was rather common. The problem as far as safety was the foot clutch, which caused a lot of riders to tip over when starting from a stop wrong.
The left hand clutch is much better. 1 minute ago
That place is nice, but if you want to see some old bikes go north on Rt.31N. about 2 miles north of Johnsburg Rd. on the west side of the road, can't remember the name but its a new brick building. They have WWII bikes BSA, Triumph, etc.
i like how the style has remained the same after all these years I belive they are manufactured in India Ive allways loved the ural i like how the side car has a drive wheel they have a military style that totally kicks butt
@Zavochkin Put the controls and a cover on the sidecar and it could be a nice winter vehicle. Strange looking going down the road however with no one on the seat. LOL
Nice find Chuck, I have always fancied a Ural sidecar as a companion for my BMW. It would be very practical for winter, unfortunately the 2 wheel drive military spec ones can't be registered for use on the roads here in Scotland. I also like the Bullet in trials/off road trim. Didn't realise they were available in the USA.
@Hank2wheels Wow that is so unfortunate that you can't drive the military ones. Here in the states if it has the street legal lighting and working brakes it pretty much is legal anywhere.
There seem to be more of the classic brands around now giving Harley a good run.
Sent you a vid. Thought of you when i saw the bike near the end of my vid.

The bikes are old design but actually brand new models.
