  • your tank to small :S

  • One GSP = 55 gallons. 30 gallons cannot even fit one.

  • @StickArenaCleanUp No, 30 gallons per puffer is okay. He still has it overstocked.

  • after watching this vid..i also tried to put my little angelfish inside the tank along with 2 1.5" GSPs and noticed they didnt seem to bother him so I just left it overnight..the next day i checked my tank..the angelfish's half body disappeared and its dead :((

  • if u disagree try wwwDOTthepufferforumDOTcom for all the care neede for any puffer fish. These are not FW puffer although some do exist like fahakas. Id like to here if the owner still has it and his other fish. I highly doubt it. I keep my GSP in a SW reef tank

  • Green Spotted puffers need Saltwater. NOT AQUARIUM SALT jesus ppl do some effin research b4 just adding fish to a tank. I hope you feed snails to keep their beaks trimmed. The angelfish is prolly dead buy now too! GSP are aggressive fish and do best in a tank alone or with other GSP only. 30 Gallons per puffer bc of the bioload they create. Put them in a Marine water 1.024 and they will glow and love you for 15 years and grow to 6.5 " big THEY absolutly should not live their live in FW or BW

  • @Sammy31Dee ur retarded there freshwater. u do some research.

  • @heheguy5 yep dont listen your the reason ppl keep killing these fish with ur bad info

  • Angelfish need to be at least in a 20gallon tank....they will grow to around the size of a whole hand as in ur fingers and palm...within 3-4months when u bought him/she.

  • ok well 30g my ass, i got 2 gsps in a 2.5 gallon tank together. i kno it sounds cruel, but its only temporary till i get my 55 fixed up. n btw, the gsps have been living there for a month now and they seem healthy, but it isnt brackish and that may cause problems later. i put in aquarium salt(i kno it should b marine) but they are perfectly healthy. i have them hunt goldfish for food and its quite entertaining

  • Aquarium salt is marine. It is evaporated sea water. So basically your using sea salt, that is marine. I'm assuming your using the aquarium pharmecuticals Aquairium salt , though. read the package. It is very literal. There is no need for instant ocean or and crap like that. as a general rule for brackish water fish, because of the controversey, I just use aquarium salt.

  • There is a huge difference between marine salt and aquarium salt. Aquarium salt is simply non-iodized salt. Marine salt contains a ton of trace minerals which are necessary for the sustenance of marine life; this is why you have never heard of anyone using aquarium salt to sustain life for a marine aquarium.

  • @marcin12566 you r soo wrong Aquarium Salt is for ick Marine salt is to raise the SG do not listen to youtubers with bad info. Please pm me i want to help u understand it all. Aquarium salt and marine are ABSOLUTLY 2 different things

  • @marcin12566 Ur dumb aquarium salt will not raise the SG. Only marine salt will. For AS to raise anything you'd need a shit ton of it. Marine salt is the right way and cheaper and healthier.

  • Yes, this is animal cruelty. I have no idea how your two GSPs are surviving in a 2.5 gallon, but you should have your water tested; I bet you will see huge spikes in ammonia, nitrites or nitrates. By feeding your puffers goldfish, you have also likely infected them with internal parasites. Just because something looks healthy doesn't mean it is.

  • @Arigaable thank you. I agree 100%

  • @Koreanlion7 Fish are bad for there digestive tract. I feed snails the size of there eyeballs to keep beak trimmed along with shrimp, krill, clams, mussels, oysters, brine shrimp, bloodworms, mysis shrimp and more. These fish are more for a experience fish keeper. No for cheap ppl who just want fish tank for looks( not you) Godd luck with the 55g and add the marine salt it helps alot. PM if u have any ?S i ve been keeping puffers forever

  • my green gsp is a fresh water puffer luckuly so i dont have to wory about that! hahaha

  • no green spotted puffer is a fresh water puffer. they are commonly sold as freshwater fish, but they're not at all. you start them in slightly brackish water as juveniles then raise the salinity gradually as they grow, and eventually they should be kept in marine conditions.

  • dude, gsp's are brackish water fish... they wont live long under freshwater

  • GSPs are born in freshwater, then move into estuaries where the water becomes brackish (1/2 marine / 1/2 fresh). As adults, many of them migrate into full marine salinity by traversing into the ocean. While a GSP can live in freshwater, it will not live for long.

  • @Arigaable Actually they are born in full marine thats the only way there sperm is effective. They migrate to BW where less predetors are and grow then back out to marine waters to mate.

  • @Sammy31Dee It's super effective!

  • @minivz9 no GSP is FW

  • @minivz9 Yep I bet he's dead now too. Cuz you didn't give em proper care. Jesus ppl do research on new pets or get a pet rock. If your to LAZY to do it right.

  • Putting the angelfish aside I wonder how come everyone else gets two puffers in the same tank. I started out with two puffers but one chewed all the fins off the other. Nice fish you got there

  • I currently have two GSPs in a 60 gallon tank. They have minimal amounts of aggression aside from when it's feeding time.

  • i have all of those fish but my spotted baby puffer fish isn't eating like he use to is that bad???

  • @chinnakone need SW and lots of different foods

  • whats the best size tank to keep my puffer in i wanna give him the best chance in his fishy life so i wanna upgrade

  • i got a 10 gal. for mine, but the max i would probably get for my puffer would be a 15 gal. also, remember to introduce yr puffer to brackish water, it simulates the part of there lifee in which they live in estuaries, i want to change my puffer to fully saltwater in about a year and a half,

  • Due to the high bio-load, I would not recommend anything less than a 20 gallon long for a single GSP. This will suffice for a young GSP; however, you will likely need to expand when it is an adult. An adult GSP attains a length of around 6 inches; however, it will also be the shape of a bloated nerf football.

  • @SolidDaiisy SW only and 30g minimum each GSP

  • Thank you for admitting that they should not be with the angels. Unfortunately, a 25 Gallon is not even big enough for 1 GSP.

  • They are now in a 30 gallon and doing great :)

  • Good to hear! Thanks for the reply. Are both of them in the 30G?

  • Good to hear.

  • You dont think a 25 gallon is ok for 1 GSP? I think it should be fine?

  • No, 30 Gallons is a bare minimum for only one Green Spotted Puffer. Keep in mind that these are in no way freshwater fish as they are often sold.

  • Let me ask you. I Have two in a 30 gallon. It is fresh water with about 5 tablespoons of aquarium salt. I know thats not enough salt or the right kind. Should I use instant ocean marine salt? How much per gallon? Thanx for the help.

  • A 25 gallon -might- suffice for a single GSP if it is a long rather than tall tank. Water changes will likely have to be maintained quite frequently, though.

  • they dont attack the angel? wtf

  • dude get a biggeer tank that tank is way to small

  • for some reason mine keep nibbling on my other fishes fins...

  • They generally do. Keep in mind this is a special case. Most puffers would maim the angel.

  • @samiegirl1 For some reason u didn't research before buying.

  • plz mail me as i wont find the video again lol 0_o

  • will they tolerated tropical water all their lives? plz reply

  • no they wont tolerate tropical all there lives i had two the man told me they were tropical but i researched it and they are tropical when young but as they mature they need more salt in the tank.a month later the puffer died it stopped moving and went on its side and a week later the other one died

  • they MUST be kept in tropical water all their lives or they will surely die. BTW tropical means warmer water. Has nothing to do with salt content. most websites list 77-82 degrees to be ok for them.

  • They need brackish water and that means they need salt. I believe it should be at least 1.004

  • actually they need .004-.009 when they are young (1 inch or so), .10-.14 when they are about 2 inches and full marine condition when they are older. so I've read and plan to do with mine. (numbers might be off a little, but the concept is right)

  • I had my Green Spotted puffer in a salinity of 1.019. Later I put him in a saltwater tank .

  • 1.004-1.006 would be the salinity for a figure eight puffer--a puffer significantly smaller in stature to a GSP. A GSP will thrive in full marine condition as an adult. Salinity should be increased by only .002 per week until the tank has reached the appropriate salinity. This must be done with marine salt--any higher of an increase will cause an aquarium to recycle due to the bacteria die off.

  • @BillyVillain Worst info ever. They're are not tropical one bit. These are marine fish. I you get one plan on a marine tank or no gsp at all. They will not live long at all in tropical/FW tanks. They HAVE to be in a min. 30g tank per puffer.

  • how big will a puffer fish get ?

  • depends of what kind of puffer.. there are freshwater, brackish and saltwater.. google and see what kind you prefer/ what fits your tank size.

  • hey just a small warning i have pea puffers with my angels and the basically feed off the angel fishes fins my angels are use to it but really its not recomend....but who am i to say anything i got my puffers with my angels

  • Green Spotted Puffers need to be in brackish water and eventually marine when they are adults. the angel fish will not tolerate salt in the water.

  • I am aware of that, the puffers have a new 25 gallon being cycled for them now

  • people always say they need 2 be cycled and i thought so 2. then i went to wal*mart and was pissed cuz of the condition they were in so i set up a 10gal tank over night and came back and rescued 3 of them . . .they all lived and are about 2 be transfered to my 100gal brackish tank :D

  • you were so appalled by the conditions in wal*mart that you purchased live stock off of them. i assume thats what you meant be "rescue".

  • yah it was sad they were practicly dead when i got them. theyre now in full SW with my pourc. and huma trigger

  • Cool video

  • Are you going to leave the angelfish with the puffers? Its cool you got it to work out. I was thinking about taking my chances with two angels and a gs puffer in a 100 gallon...this video makes it look possible.

  • do you reply to every comment that's posted on your vids ;0)

  • if they ask a question, yes. so to answer your questions... it depends lol

  • beautiful puffs :)

    do they have little personalities?

how big is your tank.....they need at least 30 gallons minimum

  • yes, they are in a 10 gallon right now, they are very small... they will be in my 25 gal soon. they are doing well, eating great.. and I love their personalities

  • yes, 25 gallon in 2 weeks.. have to cycle it first

  • How long did you have the puffers together in one tank?

  • they have been together for a week, i just got them. they really sholudn't be with the angelfish though

  • is that the nip/tuck song?

  • yes
