  • Manque un peu d'épaisseur mais charmant.

  • great voice, not a great actor :/

  • The similarity of timbre between Bülent Bezdüz and Stephen Costello is uncanny!

  • Amazing!

  • Great great voice with ringing high notes. Very rare type of tenor

  • Bravo Bezduz!

  • From what I hear and see, Bulent Bezduz has a lot of work ahead. Needs to improve his technique, his acting abilities, music knowledge, and so forth. Why? Because it is worth the effort. Gorgeous voice, good stage presence, musicality. We've seen a number of famous performers who departed with far less.

  • I saw him in Gotenbourg Opera House last year...He was excelent...

  • very good браво!!

  • Bravo!

  • Bravo!!!

  • Bravo: A really clear easy tenor voice with a sweet tone. Good stage presence and easy movement. This young man could have a major career since the voice will get bigger with maturity.

  • William Berger (author of Puccini without excuses ) Rodolfo : An impecunious poet.Althought nothing ever said explicitly ,we immiediatelly get the feeling that Rodolfo is a handsome and very popular with the ladies. The role written in a manner agreeable to lyrical voices, althought like Mimi ,he should be capable of projecting some heft at various points in the score Listen BB's duet with Juntuen : O soave fanciulla :)

  • they mentioned the name of this song in the book: lover enshirened by J.R. ward that was such a great book I had to look up this song... a hot, tough, troubled vampire man with a bad past sings this ooohh in the book I mean.

  • Bulent is really one of the finest lyric tenors around currently with Florez and calleja imho. i have been watching more of his performances.. the appoggio is almost perfect..barely anyone sings high notes so properly now.. and the timbre is beautiful.

  • Can't really compare Florez and this voice, I think. Florez is a very light, true belcanto tenor.

The Calleja comparison is more accurate, I think. Calleja is a bit better, I think. Wouldn't be surprised if these two ended up being the premier tenors of their generation.

  • I want to hear him in few years. If he works just a little bit more he can be a great singer!

I prefer him in "La traviata"

  • Great voice! I'm really impressed.

  • he's amazing! Turkish men are sexy!!

    <3 He'll go far!

  • Very good. To the MET? Hmm... not at the moment yet, but 2010/2011 might be the right time :)

  • He could sing at the MET as well as many others of nowadays, Mister Soprano!

  • He could, I know he could. But he may not. Got it? If you want it to be a real succes, why hurry, give him some more time - his singing is good, but not perfect.

  • I listened to Mr. Bezduz a couple of days ago in Göteborg, Sweden, and must say that his high C was much more impressive now. Just a small, but perhaps interesting, detail.

  • Could you pls tell about other details more Acting etc. Thanks..

  • I really liked the production; well acted and sung by Bezduz, Juntunen and Zetterström, and the orchestra under Pietro Rizzo was excellent. Mr Bezduz sings with finesse and has no problem reaching above the orchestra because of his good tecnique. I like listening to voices singing, not screaming. He has a natural flow and is a believable actor. Well done!

  • Well Done BB...

  • I revisited the performance today at a matinee and it was even better than the premiere. The acting was really moving - I had tears in my eyes on many occasions and I'm not that easily moved. The cast, especially Mr Bezduz and Ms Juntunen did a great job. This is a performance worth preserving.

  • Only a few day's left !!!!

and Mr Bezduz will sing again: La Boheme at Sweden Goteborg, directed by Ms.Elisabeth Linton.

Premiere 22 November 2008 Goteborg Opera House

Info for full schedule /cast/ and Q&A with Ms Linton visit bezduz fan club !

  • First time I see this guy and I'm truly amazed.

  • TOI TOI TOI in Gotebourg... I m sure you will have great success there.

    Best

  • Well they need him if he sounds like this today, Bravo!

  • Yes, great technique and grazie voice (reminds me a little of young Carreras), but these days we are lacking spinto and dramatic voices, no more excitement.

Never get any excitement in the house these days...only listening to old live recordings can do that for me.

  • Today I have noticed in the Metropolitan Opera 's schedule 2010/2011 season and I relized no one has received the role of Rodolfo (La Boheme)

    hmmm ... hmm ?

Isn't the right time to introduce Mr.Bezduz to the New Yorkian people ???

    pls.read his resume/engagements/guestbook too

  • Bravo Bülent , I havent seen better than your interpretation except Pavaroti. It's like a singing lesson. I will come to see your La Favorita in Montpellier. I love your tender voice. Where ever you sing TOI TOI TOI.

    Rodi Alva

  • Dear Rodi Alva !

Can we (B.B.fans) rely on you to share your experience in Montpellier with us ?

How did you like La Favorita (stage design ,stage director ,costume designer orchestra, and above all the performances of Bulent Bezduz and Béatrice Uria-Monzon

    Thank you Gabriella

  • You are in serious denial to justify your miserable existence. Look around you! You live in a crap hole! How much of a clue do you need? How give a heck about Georgia and Georgians in a serious sense? Nobody? You existence as a nation is INSIGNIFICANT. When are you going to understand that?

  • Georgia 4 ever indeed We need a such an easily surrendering, submissive nation which could be conquered in a whim! Please stay the way you are as a nation! We need someone at the bottom of the barrel! LoL..What an idiot. No go listen to Carreras. He seem to suit someone inferior such as yourself very well.

  • What a stupid jester are you inquisitive bugbear You say something, what you don't understand yourself and don't believe in it.

Whom we surrended, whom we submissed do you know it?! I don't know!

  • Increible...muy buena interpretacion

  • Jose Carreras 4ever!!!

  • Well..minus reviews from Carreras fanatics with barely any knowledge of opera is something I do not care about. Yet, it won't stop me from opining about it. Try to be factual and rational. But your obsession with Carreras is understandable. You seem to relate to (for the most part) to mediocrity as a person with a mediocre heritage and ancestry.

  • Ah sure tis all a matter of opinion, for me I will simply say Pavorotti was one of the greatest - and by the way I agree with your comments about him in his younger career. My mother (now 85) saw the legendary Fille du Regiment in the mid 60s at Covent Garden. She gave me the programme recently, she had noted beside Pavs name - "This one could be rather special" Which is why I value her opinion about BB! Still isn't opera a great leveller and better to argue about than Religion or Politics!

  • Maestoso333..what did you attempt to say?

  • Carreras? Come on..he looks as if he's gonna split into half when he's trying to access his upper register. He simply doesn't have it. In his best day his B5 was at best ok. And don't come up with he's got perfect dynamics nonsense. He's overrated.(Period). Among the hispanic tenors, I'd take Aragall and Kraus any day. The rest is hot air albeit a marketing success.

  • You just make me laugh clued up! TheInquisitive4Ever ...

  • TheInquisitive4Ever You have to understand, that your poor exclamations about Carreras makes you jester! You do not set free any chance to shit on the GRATE JOSE CARRERAS and what is a result of your ill-considered exclamations?! Everybody rate your cooments -5 and think, that you are jester!

  • just continuing, I have been an opera goer for 30 years and as posted earlier my 84 year old mum listened to this youtube recording and said good god he is the best I have heard for many many years (and believe me she has heard all the greats of the past fifty years), so open your ears and open your heart, this guy uses his voice to move people - and believe me if you saw him on stage performing you could not fail to be moved - he is going to be a mega star!!!! For many of us he already is!

  • Gevork6, I am really not sure what planet you are on or what you expect, this young man and in tenor terms he is still young - not quite 40 is one of the finest singers of his generation - and I for one am sure in the next few years is going to explode onto the global operatic scene, I "stumbled" upon him by accident seeing his Edgardo in Glasgow last year, I went to the opera knowing none of the cast and came out the theatre gasping in amazement, and I have been going to the opera for about .

  • No question BB is talented....but the High C has to be worked on as I said...I'm sure in time he will master it.....also the phrasing and the legatto line habe toi be ironed out....I mean I was comparing him to Pavarotti the greatest singer of all time!

  • I don't think anyone is saying he is the new Pavorotti, his kind are once every three decades, Pavorotti greatest singer of all time? mmm..Stefano, Caruso, Gili, McCormack, etc, no doubt(Pav) was in the super league but great marketing, mass media exposure, huge improvements in technical recording, in a century they will still be listening to him and others who will come and go in the meantime. You have to be careful about the greatest label

  • ...the young Pavarotti....not the later media bloated over the hill superstar....cannot be surpassed....it is impossible...he was absolute perfection....his technique was the greatest ever....his effortless ringing high notes will never be matched....he had the unique ability to produce a full bodied round tenor sound yet with the lightest of productions!......his passagio was unbelievable!.....his phrasing superb....on and on......etc...

  • Listen to Bjorling

  • The climactic High C is nowhere near what it should be....take a listen to Pavarotti doing it....I understand that it is very challenging as it is at the end of a very difficult and long aria but he has to really work on making it sparkle.....also needs to really hold it longer.....should probably practice singing it with High C# and then the C might get easier as time goes on!

  • Dear Gevork !

Would you please advice another opera singer who can sing this aria better than BB.(I mean contemporary ,young upcoming generation)

    Sincerely :ojdf

  • ...the list is soooo long that there is not enough space.....listen to Alagna for example.....or Diego Florez.....Villazon.....etc....in this world there is no lack of talent......but to be talented is quite something different than to be an abslolute legend like Pavarotti....his recordings of many aria are the definitive standards....now BB is a fine young tenor but he is no Pavarotti....he is not that talented....but with work he should be able to really improve the very high tessitura....

  • Comparing singers to Pavarotti is quite unfair, similar to saying, "John is nice, but he's no Jesus!"

  • ...great point!...after Pavarotti people should just stop singing.....there is no where else to go....the ultimate has been achieved....everything else pales in comparison!

  • Bulent Bezduz Grammy Awards winner, a brilliant opera singer ( playing the role of Edgardo, Alfredo, Rodolfo ,Nemorino and Fenton ) has through his performance proved to be one of the top tenors today.

The time has arrived to introduce him in North and South America's opera houses, otherwise opera audiences might be deprived of a great contemporary opera tenor, BB.

  • Dear operajdflorez ,

Bezduz is really one of the best tenor. Since I saw him in Marseille ,I never forget. He has all..big hearth ,wunderfull technique and good looking. Maestro of belcanto.

I appriciate,Bülent Bezdüz North American Web site that you designed. It seams really big work and professional web site.

Thank you for supporting such a great talented singer.

    All the best

    Rodi

  • Dear Rodialva!

Thank you for your notice I appreciated !

Website bezduz com is dedicated to Mr Bezduz and every Bezduz fans all around the world are welcome !!!

My best wishes from Montreal Gabriella

  • Everday listening once , good for health :-)

  • Beautiful! Bravo and Good Luck.

  • W LA TURCHIA!!!!!!! GRANDE PAESE

  • bravissimoooo

  • I love this aria so much...but I can't sing the high C part....hahahaha.toughest. my top note currently..is a pushed high A.

  • Fine singing for a young tenor. He held back a little on the high C but never was yelling at all, nice job. Why bring up experienced singers when he is new and young? fine voice and time will tell what he does. Bravo and good luck.

  • WOW

  • Brilliant..very good

  • Cok basarili..Tebrikler arkadasım..

  • Seems you guys have forgotten about Giuseppe Di Stefano...who Pav himself says he idolized growing up. Pav's is no doubt amazing, but I think this song is owned by Di Stefano...listen for yourself right here on youtube.

  • I have never heard of this guy until yesterday???? Extremely gifted, and much more to come in my opinion. Bravo!!!!!!!

  • Actually, besides Pavarotti's high C, the rest of the aria was terrible. Horrible legato, terrible diction, and he basically ended the aria yelling. The best Che Gelida Manina was by Carreras.

  • How many times did Carreras sing che gelida manina in the wright key on stage

  • Solid performance....but for the real thing pull up a Pavarotti version........after what he did they should just retire this piece....cannot be done better.....as for the High C.....Pavarotti's was absolutely perfect....no need to try anything else...Stop there!!

  • Ti trovo in vece stupido e noioso.

  • that upper range is pretty weak

Bende senin hakkinda nacizane fikirlerimi soyliyim.Iyi bir dramatik ton ama cok kotu sarkicisin ozur dilerim...Cok yayarak soyluyorsun kelimeleri ve tadini cok bozuyorsun melodinin.BUlent in tonu ve muzikalitesi senden con onde bence.Daha cok genc..Bulent i gormuslugum bile yok arkadas falan sanma sakin.saygilarimla...pinar...

  • I wonder about critics debating virtues of each note sung. I just go to the opera to enjoy it and have heard many Rodolfos over the years, recorded and on stage. BB is one of the finest young tenors I have ever heard. This interpretation of Che Gelida is one of the best you are likely to hear on a stage at this point in time, my 84 year old mother - who has been going to the opera for the past 60 years said she hadn't heard a young voice like this for about 30 years.

  • Hmmm?? Beautiful voice, Beautiful man. Very admirable job of a difficult aria. Defintely a very promising young tenor. I have some concerns about how the tone "spreads" in places and I am not sure that Rodolfo is "right" for him at this point in his development, but I think we will hear much from this wonderful young singer. Bravo.

  • Nice voice, but I'm more blown away by some of the inane comments on this wall.

-It's Wunderlich, no 't' (as we already established)

    -It's a high-C, not a B-flat

-Before you go running to look at your scores, know that 'la dolce speranza' hasn't been sung since the beginning part of the last century, when it practically became mandatory to sing the C

  • @drewski67 check it with a pitch fork - he sings a high Bb (B flat) as in the score. Not C - if you analyze the spectrum its a bit over 447 HZ - which makes it a high B flat. Plus if you have a bit of musical education you would know that a high "C" would not fit in the harmony where a B flat is written. You tube is full of absolutely unprofessional and ignorant comments. "when it practically became mandatory to sing the C" - where did this come from? Who decided and where?

  • @MrKiliev are we talking about the 'la speranza' section?? That IS a high-C. YOU check the score, idiot. 'Chi son' is a B-flat. Unprofessional?? Ignorant?? "if you have a bit of musical education"? HA!

And yes, it has become mandatory. If you read the FULL score, you'll see that the orchestra doubles the voice in the ascent to the C, as is all too common in the music of Puccini. Do you think anyone who sings the 'la dolce speranza' and avoids the C would escape ridicule?!?

  • @drewski67 OK sunshine - take a pitchfork which will give you a perfect A at 440 HZ. Download the clip. Loop around the "spe e" with any sound editing program. Knock the pitchfork on your forehead to get a perfect A - notice the halftone difference. Check out you tube HQvY4YKlwtM - notice something of the high C compilation? The High C's are different notes! If you are such an opera buff maybe you should know that sometimes the orchestra transposes a piece half up or down or even one up or down.

  • @MrKiliev I'm disappointed a man of your intellect wouldn't have taken into account dated audio played at different speeds and therefore, sounding like different notes. Many of these were live recordings and the audio is a little funky. Some of them were intended as different notes (Caruso, Domingo, Alagna, all singing Bs) Bjorling sings a higher pitch because he very often sharps (some say forced emission, others say a conscious attempt to cut through the think texture of the orchestra)

  • @drewski67 My cousin is a recording engineer for twenty years now and I know from him. It's done sometimes. An aria is played or recorded a step or a whole step down to accomodate the singer. Plus I know that the human voice is an incredible delicate instrument and some seasons the voice simply is not there. No one is an exception. That's why I guess I was trying to be a detective here.

  • @drewski67 Also Bezduz is known to graciously sing the high E flat somewhere. So there is no ridicule.

  • @drewski67 Well - taking my words back - looked up the score - the aria is in D-flat and that dolce speranza is a modulation on the Double Dominant to Dominant - Bb 7/9 -> Eb - so it has to be a high C - the strings really do double the C which is what Rodolfo sings (but not in the original version - he sings a D -> Eb. HOWEVER I still maintain that the recording / or the performance may be transposed down a bit. Sorry for the bitchy comments - but that's how I am before my morning coffee

  • @MrKiliev I appreciate you being mature enough to admit when you're wrong, but I don't get where the D-Eb is coming from. Original version?? Tenors have been known to sing the aria (and sometimes the whole scena) down a half step, but you mentioned UP a half step?? No tenor would ever transpose this aria higher than the original key. Yes, Bezduz sings the E-flat in 'Lucia' as written. VERY few tenors do it though.

  • @drewski67 Lucia de Lamermur or something. That's where Bulent Bezduz does a high Eb. Its on youtube somewhere. I was just without my morning coffee when I started this. I would have deleted my bitchy remarks if I could.

  • Wow...great voice.

  • OK Bulent boy - but you are singing "your tiny hand is frozen" without holding her hand! First when you sing "let me warm it for you" do you take her hand.

    Good telepathy

  • I saw the show, When they were looking for the key he did already hold her hand. Than just before long la flat ,she took her hand back. Than he was trying to convince her with a beautiful sound. Thats it poltt2003 boy. There is 1000 kind of staging. For get it and listen to the sound boy..Have fun

  • But the way its posted on UTUBE we dont see that. Plus I would agree with Poltt2003. "Your tiny hand is frozen" is a term of endearment, its like telling a woman "You have beautiful eyes" and looking at the football match. Like speaking tender words and looking out of the window... But the singing is perfect and because this performance is a candidate for perfection did Poltt notice one tiny flaw (he obviously was quite impressed to look into details)

  • beatufil voice!

  • veeeery beautiful! one of my favourites.

  • who was that soprano he was singing to?

  • Congratulations Bulent Bey. I think we will hear more of you in the near future.

  • A sweet voice and, i think, a young tenor

  • A great voice, still to be worked, a great star and a hope for Puccini interpretation and for the tenors arround europe. BRAVO Bulent!!!!, beautiful timbre, the short C good and brave, young and to be followed. You already have a big group of funs in Romania. Bravo again. Look for romanian soporano Roxana Briban, you could do a great duet with her.

  • I bit nervous throughout I thought, tenattive and short on the high C,BUT his voice is glorious and we may have a new huge star in the making.Handsome and lean-he'll be in demand!

  • wonderful voice

    bravooo

    nihat

  • ..olmuş özellikle Talor kısmı çok kusursuz olmuş.Daha iyi söyle nefesim ensemde..

  • Come on Bulent boy, hold that esp-EEEEE-ranza a second more!

  • Correction, just looked it up its dolce spEEEEranza (3.25)

  • I love a lyric voice for Rodolfo. I usually hear spintos; but, lyric seems to handle this score easily enough and the timbre suits the character. If you have the old Wunderlicht recording, give it a listen and marvel how he sings the words after the high C.... just a Puccini wrote it.

  • So what?Wunderlicht is great we al know but what is the conparison with this guy.isn't great watch the talor.Excelent I guess.

  • sorry maestoso33 and tenorote but his last name is wunderlich..

    not wunderlicht!!!is wrong..

  • its a high B flat

  • Nonsense! Honour to whom honour is due! Of course, it's a high c! The aria is sung in the original pitch! And very well sung indeed!

  • No doubt about the singing - astounding - but the score says its a high B flat. Guess I will check it out with a pitchfork and have the final say since I dont have absolute pitch.

  • Beautiful stuff..

  • harika!!! Wonderful :) Swietnie! Prekrasno! mnogo hubavo! Marveilluex!!!

  • stud, to young to rodolfo, not bad.

  • too young to do Rodolfo - it is exactly what you need for Rodolfo fresh young voice and face, Rodlofo is supposed to be a young poet in love, I saw domingo do Rodolfo when he was 40 and then again fifteen years later - I know which one I preferred. This guy is the perfect casting for Rodolfo!!

  • He's ok but not great

  • Sevgili Bülentciğim,

Biraz önce aryalarınla birlikte yorumladığın türküyü de dinledim.Hepsi de güzeldi.Kutluyor ve kucaklıyorum.

    Bacanağın ve abin Hüseyin Vural

  • I cannot imagine where you might be, but I like the voice, stage... how good to hear done believably, and musically. [wait - "qui son...é" a bit early with the next word!]

  • Wow.

  • wow.

  • i love his voice!

  • I am italian and I can say that his pronunciation is really good.

    Bravo, Turkish tenor^^

  • Very good!!!

  • mersindeyken opera hocamdi cok ozledim turkan bibar in yegeni deyince tanir beni
