@johananuvis the only thing gay here is your ignorant comment.. You are probably in the closet and hate everyone in the world because you don't have guts to come out.. asshole
@Sgalaga Well for that camera angle I removed the cable from the guitar for better visibility as I thought this is obvious that you need one from the guitar.

I just got the Rp 1000 to day and a Peavey 6505+ with matching cab and I can figure out exactly how to hook this thing up to where it sounds good and can't figure how to switch to different affects other than the four that were allready on when i plugged it in, would you happen to have any advice?
@bdoginit01 1. Check if your peavey has a serial loop 2. use the 4 cable method as labeled on the back of the machine 3 see instructional videos on how to hook it up
It is actually not so hard just kind of new to you (probably)
@nirvana613 Next time I wear my sunday face just for you! yo i saw that ur an endorser of digitech lol i commented on that rp-90 video before but just wondering since black friday is coming up for guitarcenter should i get the rp-1000/500 or the rp-355?
@outbook It depends what your focus is...playing live or playing at home. I mean there is no point in paying all those live features like tap tempo, metal plunger switches and amp and stomp loops on the RP1000 if you play at home to your computer directly. Dont get me wrong I mean the RP1000 can record via USB but it does have all those features on top of the RP355.....I guess if you think what your main playing situation is the decision is fairly easy
@RIPTOTHEJOSH04 Yes there is it is a compressor and it can be set up pretty drastically so the note sustains and sustains.....buuut this does not have a ebow or sustainiac device built in

@mcuzo In modulation row you can assign the effect to be pre or post...try this and also use different chorus models. For distortion I use the TC and for clean crunch I use the Voodoo...I am very happy with those. The Noise gate whould work if your amp has a proper effect loop maybe your amp has a parallel effect loop in that case 50% of the signal will always be pure amp and the other 50% will run thru the RP....which means if you assign the chorus or gate to 50% it is just 25% in the poweramp
i have the RP500...every time i engage the wah pedal, the volume gets ridiculously loud . this really creates issues when looping and dubing sounds and just playing in general. any tips
@MrLonelymun The higher you go in the range starting with the RP55 and all the way to the top the RP1000 you get more effects more parameters more options....so the RP1000 can do anything and I mean anything the RP55 can do this includes the wahs of course
Fantastic review! You have given more useful info than the personnel I spoke to at Digitech. I have the RP1000 and a Blackstar HT-100. I'm looking to preserve the tone from the amp. I'm not entirely familiar with the "pre/post amp" placement of effects. Can you offer a little more insight into how/why to do this? Thank you!
@MrCollege Basically there are FX which need to be in front of the preampstage of an amp and some want to live after the preamp stage after the stage where the distortion takes place. Wahs, Comps, Tuners ig go first then you reach the pre amp stage so distortion boxes must be placed here then go into the preamp...after the preamp you can use delay mod and reverb....then poweramp section. The mod FX can be used pre or post depending on the effect you want to achieve
@ralfjung sorry i wrote my last question at about 10 seconds into the vid. I have a few questions...i just bought an RP500 and am anxiously awaiting its arrival - most of my questions will prob. be answered in the manual but anyways...1) can i plug my RP500 into the effects loop & amp simultaneously? If not, which is preferred (i have a peavey 6505+ 112 combo tube amp). 2) can you explain the bypass switch a bit to me?
@ricomitrozonnn That Tele is a Andreas Lang Tele....German luthier...very very good but unknown as he makes just a few instruments a year as he is really picky about the wood selection plus he is not a buisness man but what a craftman he is.....that is truely a fantastic guitar
@guitargeant That b/w guitar is a Danelektro Baritone...that Tele is a handmade guitar by a Luthier called Andreas Lang out of Germany.....I am not sure on which guitar you refer. I did some demos for The Valve but I am not sure if they used these demos...maybe you wanna check their webpage or write to the guys directly....
@guitargeant Smile....I play this guitar quite a lot as it is one of my 3 main guitars. Unfortunately the takes I recorded for the RP1000 video didnt make it to the edit as it is a 10min frame I have to keep. Check out my other videos and you see the black LP in action quite a bit
@leprosyful keep in mind that these videos are reviewed by very young people....so if you think I am gay and I should show some attention to your rear....send me me a personal massage if you need to....but dont post things like that publically ok?
dude one qustion. i see that some efect procesors have a fuction name ground-lift. i saw that rp1000 has it and even line 6 pod x3 live. and i dont know what it does. can you tell me please?
@tibi1687 when you hook up a pedal to more than one units...like an amplifier and then at the same time to a PA using the XLR outs you might experience a deep humming an annoying tone which you can eliminate pressing the groundlift...one of the pins of the XLRs will then be lifted off the pedal chassis ground...
@pollometalero Not in this video....I have used a real amplifier and recorded the signal over a Shure SM57 or AKG414.....cant remember but I think it was the 414.
You can record using the USB out though and it sounds stunning to my ears
@wolfgang2007aaaaaaaa No it cant...the problem is that 10 different guitar amps are switched 6 times differently....it varies from brand to brand and sometimes even inside a brand so it doesnt make a lot of sense to incorparate this as you miss out a few amps and get negative critic for it....I guess thios is why Digitech left it out completely
i have played with an rp1000 and looked at the manual online dozens of times and i cant figure out how to set the expression pedal to whammy and pitch and stuff. it always stays on wah. need help?
@homebiscuit1994 It is not so complicated....turn on the Whammy in the Modulation row and select a setting you like. Then go down to the expression row and select the expression pedal....go to knob 2 and dial in pedal....go to knob 3 and dial in 0 then knob 4 dial in 99.....then press save....thats it. Even easier look for a preset which have it set up already and copy or change that preset to your liking
hi :) your awesome man :) but i have one question i want by a digitech processor for my guitar but i dont know which is the best :) could you help me ! they are - The Digitech rp500 , digitech rp355 or digitech rp1000 ! These demonstration videos of yours are VERY good!
I like the fast pace, the accurate descriptions and technical explanations, particularly of how the device is connected. Your selection of musical samples is perfectly suited to each sound and your playing is excellent. Thanks for these. They are better than most manufacturer demos.
I love that Tele too! Nice design. What kind is it?
And I'd still like to know what that little black thing is behind the nut?!
@OldSchoolSkill The Tele is made by Andreas Lang who is a German luthier. It is a really responsive guitar, almost like a violin. That black thing behind the nut is a little trick to dampen the strings. It is just a rubber band you usually use for hair...I have that on almost any guitar I use...especially when you do multiple finger tapping this inexpensive device helps a lot - and you dont have to drill holes in a guitar to mount a dampener
.. there is a demo of the rp1000 somewhere that says you can integrate other stompboxes with this unit.. do you have an additional demo regarding this feature? can you integrate a whole chain of stompboxes with this one?
Well what i meant was like you make this vids and people should be thankfull for them.. Like ive only found 2 demos of this pedal and a few reviews.. You have take time and even money i guess to make something nice for other people.. So bottom line if some loosers that think they are like some cool shit.. Like "oh men im insulting ralf jujuju" fuck them and keep doing the good work
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
i think your hair is pulling on your brain because i have never used the thumb rating system and i didn't give you 2 thumbs down your vid was very informative well done all i said was get a hair cut i'm sorry that i hurt your feelings
You say you are sorry and then in the same posting you offend me again...
How would you like it if some people would comment your fast food shaped figure or your facial hair instead of looking at your performance?
Remember I do these videos to help and inform people and it is not a platform for me as a person or artist, so again spare those personal comments! Please...
Thanks for your answer man i think its really cool you do that ill buy this pedal ignore the hairstyle stuff i think you should grow it to your knees or something to show them you don't care! Hahahahaha see ya.. Rock on bitchezz! lml
In fact I do care - it wont change anything though....I mean 45.000 viewers on this video and over 1 million on my channel and once in a while someone who says that I am gay or should get a haircut or something...so what. The internet is a platform which brings characters to the surface which would othervise probably hide in their own devices. Posting something means you need to expect these kind of comments too. But it wouldnt be fair to the 44.998 other people if this would really distract me.
.. dude, I really don't think you're gay, you just have a soft tone.. and I do wish I have that long hair too.. anyway, great demo.. though I already have a different multi fx, I cannot have this one anymore..
it is actually unbelievable that you give me two thumbs down because you dont like my hairstyle (I just realized that you rated me)...shall I go ahead and offend you too and tell you loose some weight or get rid of that funny goaty of yours?...this is ridiculous....
dudee! i've like the same question of this other dude @fwd0120 please answer men.. though i've already decided to buy this one it would be awesomee to do that please tell!! rock on bitchezz! lml
Dear, Ralf. I was going between this and the Rp500. One of the deciding factors are the bottom row of buttons that change presets by default. I read in a guitar world magazine review that this row of buttons (1-5) can also be assigned to different (effect) parameters as well. Is this true? I read somewhere on the internet that this is not the case. If I could get an answer that would be great. Thank You, Ralf for your great and informative videos. the best on the internet!!
the bottom row will always be presets no matter in which mode you are or what you do to the upper row of switches. The upper row you can re-assigned to your liking. When you scroll down to the Expression row using the cursors in the matrix and turn knob 1 you can see FS 6 thru 0...then by turning knob 2 you can select almost any parameter there is to be assigned to the FS you are working on at this moment. So yes you can re-assign the parameters and function of the upper row
355 has everything you need but is taylored for home and projectstudio use. 500 is soundvise pretty much a like but designed to be on stage...there you can bypass amps and speakers in case you just want to use the effect section and/or stompboxes. The 1000 has all of this plus an external stomploop plus an amploop. Bottomline if you have a good amp and play live go for the 1000..it is most versatile
@rageohol1 the higher you go in the models the more horsepower is applied to each effect.....if you need a noise gate desperately that means you use a rally noisy guitar or something in front of the RP...usually I have not met someone who said the noise gate isnt enough.....but you can be rest assured that the NG on the 1000 is a few notches better than the one on the 255
Whats the point of creating a multifx unit that encourages you to use it with your own amp but not have amp channel switching capability. This is the reason why I will not buy this unit .Digitech need to address this issue.
hi Ralf... i love your vids... what do you recom. PR1000+JAMMAN or the GNX4 as a stand-alone Unit!! And it's band for the Digithech Units to have a Booster before them (for a Solo or something).
Would it really have too much to ask for MIDI on this thing? Seriously, the GT-10 (Boss) can change channels on my amp (IT HAS MIDI). This thing can't (No MIDI). But, this can give me routing that the GT-10 can't. I would have chosen this in a second if it could simply give me program changes. I thought everything in this price range had midi capability. Please add midi in your next model.
I Will buy two RP-1000's if they add MIDI. They'll have to call it RP>1000...
@IamLookingAtAGlobe I am totally with you...but to my information the engineers decided to do it that way because they didnt want to sacrifice processing power and so weaken the effects and ampmodels. A second processor in there would have been too expensive....bla bla bla....we are all hoping for a bigger machine
I have to ask; what was with the black Les Paul? LOL!! What an odd video. It was a good demonstration of what each effect does, unfortunately, they were Digitech effects and sounded lousy.
When I do a video I shoot more material than those "scenes" which actually land in the youtube video. It felt kind of odd to just sit there and talk so I kind of hided behind that Les Paul...unfortunately none of the takes with it made it in this video but you can check out the video response here. There you can see the ghost in action....Cheers
I noticed that when I switch to a different preset I need to press the Amp Loop button each time to re-engage it. Is there a way to leave the amp loop setting on so I don't need to reach down and press that button every time I step on a new preset?
Google is the keyword here...smile....Purple Haze is a song by Jimi Hendrix on of the top 5 songs he recorded I´d say - I am sure you find lots of tabs. Having said this I am sure there are a zillion of bands out there which name themselves Purple Haze
Does the RP1000 have selectable output modes to use the preamps with the FX Loop of an amp, or direct to the PA (therefore with the Speakers simulator enabled)?
yes it does....you decide if you use the preamp of your external amp or the internal preamps.....these you can send to a poweramp but pick up post distortion effect before you do so....pls watch the other videos and then it will be clearer what I mean
Ehm no! I'm asking a different thing: how can you make the device "understand" whether the preamps are being used in an FX Loop of an amp, or direct to a PA system (with speaker simulation)?
there is a little dip switch next to the output plus which activates the speaker simu on the line outputs. On the XLRs the speaker simu is always on....same for the headphone outputs
Does this pedal have a bass guitar setting and or a drum effect?

I've listened to well over 100 pedals and I keep coming back to this one. The effects and versatility are pretty good for what I'm able to spend.

MrLonelymun 1 year ago
@MrLonelymun The higher you go in the range starting with the RP55 and all the way to the top the RP1000 you get more effects more parameters more options....so the RP1000 can do anything and I mean anything the RP55 can do this includes the wahs of course

Fantastic review! You have given more useful info than the personnel I spoke to at Digitech. I have the RP1000 and a Blackstar HT-100. I'm looking to preserve the tone from the amp. I'm not entirely familiar with the "pre/post amp" placement of effects. Can you offer a little more insight into how/why to do this? Thank you!
MrCollege 1 year ago
@MrCollege Basically there are FX which need to be in front of the preampstage of an amp and some want to live after the preamp stage after the stage where the distortion takes place. Wahs, Comps, Tuners ig go first then you reach the pre amp stage so distortion boxes must be placed here then go into the preamp...after the preamp you can use delay mod and reverb....then poweramp section. The mod FX can be used pre or post depending on the effect you want to achieve

can you do this with the RP500? if not, what is the "best" or recommended set up for the RP500 on a peavey 6505+ 112 combo tube amp.
dkrasney 1 year ago
@dkrasney Can you do what.....you need to be more precise...look at my RP500 videos maybe these videos answer your questions
ralfjung 1 year ago
@ralfjung sorry i wrote my last question at about 10 seconds into the vid. I have a few questions...i just bought an RP500 and am anxiously awaiting its arrival - most of my questions will prob. be answered in the manual but anyways...1) can i plug my RP500 into the effects loop & amp simultaneously? If not, which is preferred (i have a peavey 6505+ 112 combo tube amp). 2) can you explain the bypass switch a bit to me?
dkrasney 1 year ago
which is the model of that guitar?
ricomitrozonnn 1 year ago
@ricomitrozonnn That Tele is a Andreas Lang Tele....German luthier...very very good but unknown as he makes just a few instruments a year as he is really picky about the wood selection plus he is not a buisness man but what a craftman he is.....that is truely a fantastic guitar
ralfjung 1 year ago
@ralfjung and the principle is the black model? and marks? thanks

Ralf is the man. He helped me with my Rp500. Quite best the best clinician guitarist that's willing to help customers. Cool dude :D.

Is that a danelectro? Do you do just a demo of the amp? sound sweet!
guitargeant 1 year ago
@guitargeant That b/w guitar is a Danelektro Baritone...that Tele is a handmade guitar by a Luthier called Andreas Lang out of Germany.....I am not sure on which guitar you refer. I did some demos for The Valve but I am not sure if they used these demos...maybe you wanna check their webpage or write to the guys directly....
ralfjung 1 year ago
Dude lol hold one guitar when you talk and then play another for the clip and Why did you never play the Black Beauty?

@guitargeant Smile....I play this guitar quite a lot as it is one of my 3 main guitars. Unfortunately the takes I recorded for the RP1000 video didnt make it to the edit as it is a 10min frame I have to keep. Check out my other videos and you see the black LP in action quite a bit

dude one qustion. i see that some efect procesors have a fuction name ground-lift. i saw that rp1000 has it and even line 6 pod x3 live. and i dont know what it does. can you tell me please?
tibi1687 1 year ago
@tibi1687 when you hook up a pedal to more than one units...like an amplifier and then at the same time to a PA using the XLR outs you might experience a deep humming an annoying tone which you can eliminate pressing the groundlift...one of the pins of the XLRs will then be lifted off the pedal chassis ground...

pollometalero 1 year ago
@pollometalero Not in this video....I have used a real amplifier and recorded the signal over a Shure SM57 or AKG414.....cant remember but I think it was the 414.
You can record using the USB out though and it sounds stunning to my ears

Hi, can this control my guitar amps channel?
wolfgang2007aaaaaaaa 1 year ago
@wolfgang2007aaaaaaaa No it cant...the problem is that 10 different guitar amps are switched 6 times differently....it varies from brand to brand and sometimes even inside a brand so it doesnt make a lot of sense to incorparate this as you miss out a few amps and get negative critic for it....I guess thios is why Digitech left it out completely

i have played with an rp1000 and looked at the manual online dozens of times and i cant figure out how to set the expression pedal to whammy and pitch and stuff. it always stays on wah. need help?
homebiscuit1994 1 year ago
@homebiscuit1994 It is not so complicated....turn on the Whammy in the Modulation row and select a setting you like. Then go down to the expression row and select the expression pedal....go to knob 2 and dial in pedal....go to knob 3 and dial in 0 then knob 4 dial in 99.....then press save....thats it. Even easier look for a preset which have it set up already and copy or change that preset to your liking

OldSchoolSkill 1 year ago
@OldSchoolSkill The Tele is made by Andreas Lang who is a German luthier. It is a really responsive guitar, almost like a violin. That black thing behind the nut is a little trick to dampen the strings. It is just a rubber band you usually use for hair...I have that on almost any guitar I use...especially when you do multiple finger tapping this inexpensive device helps a lot - and you dont have to drill holes in a guitar to mount a dampener

Rock on bitchezz! lml
Anonimyoustube 1 year ago
In fact I do care - it wont change anything though....I mean 45.000 viewers on this video and over 1 million on my channel and once in a while someone who says that I am gay or should get a haircut or something...so what. The internet is a platform which brings characters to the surface which would othervise probably hide in their own devices. Posting something means you need to expect these kind of comments too. But it wouldnt be fair to the 44.998 other people if this would really distract me.
ralfjung 1 year ago

Thank You, Ralf for your great and informative videos. the best on the internet!!
fwd0120 1 year ago
Hi there
the bottom row will always be presets no matter in which mode you are or what you do to the upper row of switches. The upper row you can re-assigned to your liking. When you scroll down to the Expression row using the cursors in the matrix and turn knob 1 you can see FS 6 thru 0...then by turning knob 2 you can select almost any parameter there is to be assigned to the FS you are working on at this moment. So yes you can re-assign the parameters and function of the upper row

ashwinv11 1 year ago
which is better rp 355, 500 or 1000???????
please help me to chose one
crcz0666 1 year ago
355 has everything you need but is taylored for home and projectstudio use. 500 is soundvise pretty much a like but designed to be on stage...there you can bypass amps and speakers in case you just want to use the effect section and/or stompboxes. The 1000 has all of this plus an external stomploop plus an amploop. Bottomline if you have a good amp and play live go for the 1000..it is most versatile
ralfjung 1 year ago
how is the noisegate on the 1000 compared to the 255?
i have the 255 and the noisegate is ok, not great
rageohol1 1 year ago
@rageohol1 the higher you go in the models the more horsepower is applied to each effect.....if you need a noise gate desperately that means you use a rally noisy guitar or something in front of the RP...usually I have not met someone who said the noise gate isnt enough.....but you can be rest assured that the NG on the 1000 is a few notches better than the one on the 255

luciankaltz 1 year ago
Whats the point of creating a multifx unit that encourages you to use it with your own amp but not have amp channel switching capability. This is the reason why I will not buy this unit .Digitech need to address this issue.
cast390 2 years ago
Bingo!
If they add MIDI, I'll buy one. But if BOSS beats them to the punch and adds these routing features to their unit, I'll buy theirs.
These routing features with MIDI at this price would be in very high demand...
IamLookingAtAGlobe 2 years ago
hi Ralf... i love your vids... what do you recom. PR1000+JAMMAN or the GNX4 as a stand-alone Unit!! And it's band for the Digithech Units to have a Booster before them (for a Solo or something).
RUOCCOLOCO 2 years ago
Would it really have too much to ask for MIDI on this thing? Seriously, the GT-10 (Boss) can change channels on my amp (IT HAS MIDI). This thing can't (No MIDI). But, this can give me routing that the GT-10 can't. I would have chosen this in a second if it could simply give me program changes. I thought everything in this price range had midi capability. Please add midi in your next model.
I Will buy two RP-1000's if they add MIDI. They'll have to call it RP>1000...
IamLookingAtAGlobe 2 years ago
@IamLookingAtAGlobe I am totally with you...but to my information the engineers decided to do it that way because they didnt want to sacrifice processing power and so weaken the effects and ampmodels. A second processor in there would have been too expensive....bla bla bla....we are all hoping for a bigger machine

I have to ask; what was with the black Les Paul? LOL!! What an odd video. It was a good demonstration of what each effect does, unfortunately, they were Digitech effects and sounded lousy.

@laughingboy0068

Thank you for your reply.
Does the RP1000 have selectable output modes to use the preamps with the FX Loop of an amp, or direct to the PA (therefore with the Speakers simulator enabled)?
wkcchampion 2 years ago
yes it does....you decide if you use the preamp of your external amp or the internal preamps.....these you can send to a poweramp but pick up post distortion effect before you do so....pls watch the other videos and then it will be clearer what I mean
ralfjung 2 years ago
Ehm no! I'm asking a different thing: how can you make the device "understand" whether the preamps are being used in an FX Loop of an amp, or direct to a PA system (with speaker simulation)?
wkcchampion 2 years ago
there is a little dip switch next to the output plus which activates the speaker simu on the line outputs. On the XLRs the speaker simu is always on....same for the headphone outputs
ralfjung 2 years ago
ah it's so simple then. When playing thru an amp, does it disable the Speakers sim in all patches?

yes it does these dip switches are global
