I identify as a lesbian but I would never say that if I met a man and fell in love that I would not have sex with him. It isn't about gender as much but I am attracted to women and not men. But, for me, love is something that matters more in terms of why I am attracted to someone. This video isn't offensive or ignorant to me. I am a bisexual and when I am with a person I am with only them. I don't know what to say otherwise. I have met males and females, gay, straight, bi, trans, some are faithful and true. even as a friend or otherwise. It's who they are inside that makes a true longtime relationship. This is a very valid question. And I think he said the answer in his question. Women are more fluid. The core difference between men and women is women are more emotional. It's less about sex and more about a connection. I also feel that at least recently more straight women are willing to experiment (as it's a lil more socially acceptable). Just because they will sleep with a woman does not make them gay. Eventually they realize they're not gay much to the heartbreak of the "real" lesbian.

Us gays are people with individual feelings. I was so comfortable with being gay that I came out in grade 5. my ex girlfriend has known for 2 years now and still hasn't told anybody. You can't necessarily generalize these things like "lesbians are all butch and gay guys are all pansies". This means that you also can't generalize a question towards gays.
I'm 100% the same! I'm bisexual and move people for who they are not what they look like. I have a few gay and lesbian friends and a lot of them were just born attracted to the same sex, others discovered their sexuality over time. I don't think it makes them less assured in their sexuality than gay men but perhaps the women saying they were lesbians then going with men were bisexual but found it easier to clarify with lesbian and straight? Depending on their partner?

There is a wide variety of experiences and expressions within the GL community. Some young queer (gay and lesbian) youth have straight sex to get a sense of who they are, but there are gay men and lesbians who have never had straight sex. The causes of all forms of homosexuality are probably the same - some form of genetic or environmental factor when the fetus is developing. Other than that, I do not think there are a lot of strong defining things in the community.
i believe it is a moral opposition to men or at least that has been my experience. i was talking to a girl i know who broke up with her girlfriend and she explained to me that she likes girls because of the depth in the bond she is able to make, she also gave me her phone number and told me she would call me next time she was in town. gigidy!

But, (From my viewpint) tend to be more open and willing to commit to their lifestlye, because their more accepted.

That's a good question, but I don't think lesbians get as much... publicity as gay men. When you picture a gay man you picture someone with no sexual feelings toward women whatsoever. But a lot of people just picture sexkittens when they picture lesbians, or butchcases. Truth is, they're just like us straight ladies. Literally, everybody. A lesbian can be horny and confusing just as a straight person can be. A lesbian can also be relationship-oriented instead of just sex, just as a straight person can be. Honestly, I think many women may THINK they are lesbian when men present themselves in relationships with them as being such fucking assholes that they no longer want to associate with the entire male gender, and turn to being lesbian in hopes that the whole feeling for fucked up men will stop. I believe that for women sexuality is more fluid.
I identify as a lesbian but I would never say that if I met a man and fell in love that I would not have sex with him. It isn't about gender as much but I am attracted to women and not men. But, for me, love is something that matters more in terms of why I am attracted to someone. This video isn't offensive or ignorant to me. This is a very valid question. And I think he said the answer in his question. Women are more fluid. The core difference between men and women is women are more emotional. It's less about sex and more about a connection. I also feel that at least recently more straight women are willing to experiment (as it's a lil more socially acceptable). Just because they will sleep with a woman does not make them gay. Eventually they realize they're not gay much to the heartbreak of the "real" lesbian.

its all to do with the different theroies on what makes people gay. an interesting fact is the more older brothers you have the more likely you are to be gay. this is because during pregnacey (carring a boy) the female body is introduced to unfamiliar hormones and the more this happens the more her body fights it off. this oviously doesnt happen when a women is carying a girl.

There is a wide variety of experiences and expressions within the GL community. Some young queer (gay and lesbian) youth have straight sex to get a sense of who they are, but there are gay men and lesbians who have never had straight sex. The causes of all forms of homosexuality are probably the same - some form of genetic or environmental factor when the fetus is developing. Other than that, I do not think there are a lot of strong defining things in the community.

...that could be different. i think woman are slightly more resilient to social stigma, and there is generally less pressure on them to be a certain way. moreover being a lesbian isn't as bad in modern society as being a gay male, so there's that to move it along. even in the gay community, for a man to be bisexual is a bit difficult (from what i've heard from my gay friends). men tend to be either gay or straight because they have to define their roles more rigidly than women are required to.

Its just like females rights. Homosexuals and women are not completely accepted as specific raced/straight/males. Lesbians arn't fully accepted as many male homosexuals because were still going through the process of acceptence. It may be decades, centuries, or a few years before every human being is accepted and tolerated by every human being. My guees is a long ways away though. That's a good question, but I don't think lesbians get as much... publicity as gay men. When you picture a gay man you picture someone with no sexual feelings toward women whatsoever. But a lot of people just picture sexkittens when they picture lesbians, or butchcases. Truth is, they're just like us straight ladies. I think plenty of people have a I'm-Gay-No-I'm-Not phase, and it's men and women alike. But I think your everyday lesbian is pretty... solid lesbian.

Lesbians are induviduals just like everyone else. You can't be like "Do you think lesbians...." because everyone is different. In the same way you can't be like "Do you think black people..."

Greg, I love you, you have great points, but this is an ignorant question. Like the current top comment says, you can't base an assumption on an entire community. Everybody is different. Literally, everybody. A lesbian can be horny and confusing just as a straight person can be. A lesbian can also be relationship-oriented instead of just sex, just as a straight person can be. My lesbian friend isn't even interested in sex, so she tells me, she just likes women because she's attracted to them.

lesbians are just like everyone else (so are gay guys). If a lesbian or gay guy goes straight then they either were/are experimenting with their sexuality. u can't be one then switch to another, ur either gay, straight or bi, or experimenting to see which u are.

I'm a lesbian, and I am a lesbian because I am attracted to members of my own gender. It never chose to be gay as far as I know. Women who are 'lesbians by choice' are sexist and discriminatory against men, which is wrong, and are not lesbians, but bi/straight.
For the record, I have never been in a relationship, because I don't desire one. Independent. I would never go out with someone I didn't think I would be able to be with someone that I couldn't see with me my entire life, so, yawwwwww.

Honestly, I couldn't care at all about this question because I see sexuality as a right, it is what we are and no can change us. i don't see the difference in love. So there is really no point in me posting this because I don't have an opinion but oh well.

Honestly, I think many women may THINK they are lesbian when men present themselves in relationships with them as being such fucking assholes that they no longer want to associate with the entire male gender, and turn to being lesbian in hopes that the whole feeling for fucked up men will stop. That being said, they may "relapse" back to men because they are in all honesty straight or pansexual. Disaster relationships can do many things to different people, and for some, it turns them away.
