Im glad you can mix up the settings. I keep the flight mode on game because Im not good enough to fight in sim mode (yet...Im learning) and the systems in sim. By far the best combat sim I have ever played IMHO.
Well of course you have the normal DETAILED AS F**K sim.. but the gamemode is more like to have some fun for the newbies who just want to mess around.. and its pretty fun if you ask me :D
It's also a way for novices to slowly ease into a sim. For a 14 year old who haven't played any simulators before, this is a good way to get into it. Just jumping into simulator mode is absolutely no fun at all if you don't even know what a cyclic is. It's also a nice way to sell more games. The sim market isn't exactly insanely profitable. And the development costs of a sim are pretty high.
nicelly said, I'm into detailed sim's and this one is on the top of my Best Ever List..
My friend isnt into the whole simming buisness.. but he did enjoy the Arcade/game-mode a lot.. he almost bought it.. but the fact that you cant play online with this was a major turn-down for him ):
see this is a great isea because it can appeal to all markets some people don't prefer the complexity of a sim and choose arcade games but this can be for both types of people what a great idea.
yes that and also hopefully makes some people that starts out in the game mode to actually want to learn more and eventually get the full experience - flying for "real". Was a smart move to include the game mode. :)
What you are seeing is the arcade mode (I think they call it). The player can choose to fly with all the easy stuff as shown, or they can choose to fly the very indepth simulation.
this is nice and all, but I think in the interest of the game you should upload a nice long gameplay vid, show all these things. as attratice as a 15min take-off ingame sounds, I would rather see the action.
I agree. It's nice to have options for guys who like to blow stuff up. I prefer sim mode, but whatever generates more support for DCS is good with me. More money = more development!
why this not released on ps3 :( and yes it is possible for PS3 to handle these graphics

@gerry7man555
It's not a measure of graphics, but of keys. There's over 80 keys in that game. (just search "DCS black shark keymap" in Google)
Yeah, that's not getting on the PS3's controller.

I played game mode for about 5 minutes and then went back to sim. I prefer complexity. Great option though.

Don't generalize people by age. A 14 year old cousin is just as capable as a 30 year old.

hi, can you turn on or 'enable' a heat-blur effect from the exhaust vents?
similar to Lock On ?

wtf??! is this black shark? dcs' black shark? it's not supposed to be arcade - is that an option?
Crawlerz246 3 years ago
its an Arcade option.. you also have the 1st person mode :) (which is hard as PHACK)
looking better every week!

all I can say is thank God. flight sims are too impenetrable for me and I love Ace Combat style games but I don't own any next-gen consoles.

WAGS! one thing i know game mode is missing, music. it's too quiet.
707377503 3 years ago
Yeah, i agree it a bit too quiet for the people who are going to use the arcade mode.
