  • i've loved this song nearly all of my life and i'm not that old...can someone tell me why music isn't this good anymore?

  • love the beatles cover to

  • One of my favorites!! I get goosebumps and go crazy when it comes on the radio.

  • Old dog, Mr Berry... Yea baby Chuck Berry is rock n roll....

  • Holy shit, how can YOU not like, Chuck Berry? I got bored from listening to modern music, but this type of music makes me dance.

  • HAVE TO LISTEN TO THE VERSION WITH TINA! RIGHT NOW

  • wwwgreatbuyoutletscom wwwtopfuelsavercom It was considered as

a shameful degradation for him even to touch the ground with his

foot. The sun and moon were not even permitted to shine upon his

head. None of the superfluities of the body were ever taken from

him, neither his hair, his beard, nor his nails were cut. Whatever

he eat was dressed in new vessels." He has never seen a white man and, according to the

firm conviction of all the Boobies, He cannot bear to look upon the sea

  • im 16 and i dont care how old you are and whether you like this or not i came for my own enjoyment and then i decided to trolololololololol no im actually glad you like this music:D

  • haha im 14 and i have this and MANY other oldie songs on my IPOD!

  • I am a fetus. All those rude ignorant fetuses just listen to their mothers bodily functions but i much prefer chuck berry.... why are you reading this? listen to the music?!

  • FUCK YOU DUMBASS WHO THINK BERRY INVITED ROCK AND ROLL DUMBASS

  • @funcooldrew2 well i don't think it is possible to "invent" a genre of music, but Chuck Berry is definitely one of the first people to start playing music with this kind of style.

  • @MsMegajosh why they say invited rock and roll what about elvis

  • @funcooldrew2 well Elvis was also one of the first, great founders of rock, but i dont think you can say he "invented" rock and roll.

  • Comment removed

  • @funcooldrew2 No one invented rock and roll. If anyone can claim it, it'd be Fats Domino for being the first to crossover, but the roots go waaay beyond that. Many great musicians consider Little Richard and Chuck Berry (who were both popular before Elvis) as the original Kings of Rock. Elvis merely took it to a whole new level, which is why he's the King of Rock to most. No one is stupid for picking Chuck Berry, Little Richard, or Elvis. You can't go wrong with any one of those three.

  • @douchiedude was it like grunge just playing in clubs till elvis found clubs use that music ?

  • @funcooldrew2 Rhythm and blues was not very popular to the mainstream audience back then. Rich white people listened to pop and wanted their kids to listen to pop. Teenagers liked rhythm and blues because it was different, shunned, and "sexy," and when some artists like Little Richard and Chuck Berry crossed over onto pop charts, that made way for more musicians like them. Then Elvis came and took the world by storm, the rest is history.

  • I am 3 years old and I like this song and I hate Justin Bieber. I am so cool because I like to claim I am not like other 3 year olds who listen to stupid songs.

  • Este si es el papa!!

    rock n roll music!!

  • I can't stop dance to this!

  • My friend, Kyle, can not stop singing this song! Btw I like this song!

  • "If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'." -- John Lennon

"[My mama] said, 'You and Elvis are pretty good, but you're no Chuck Berry.'"

    -- Jerry Lee Lewis

"There's only one true king of rock 'n' roll. His name is Chuck Berry."

    -- Stevie Wonder

  • like the original better though

  • @Gijs96 This is the original, if your referring to The Beatles version as the original then your wrong. Chuck Berry is the one who wrote the song, The Beatles just covered it.

  • Hey it doesnt matter what age you are ? If you like its cool if you dont its ok just dont come hating :)) music doesnt require age and there are different tastes

  • @Zobberi1

    I totally agree with you

  • What are you all trying to prove by stating your age?

  • people need to stop arguing about who is the king

elvis is known as it it does not mean chuck isnt good

  • The REAL king of rock 'n roll!

  • Music perfection, plain and simple.

    ....and I'm 18!

  • # 642

  • @wormguts Touche!

  • Great!

  • Mailman hienointa musaa oltiin nuoria ,,,,hwe was yang uans beautiful rock

  • Just let me hear some of that Chuck Berry's Music !

  • O.K.

  • O.K.

  • Can you say foot tapping

  • the Beatles sent me here

  • oh god i wanna dance to this so bad!!!!

  • Shit, Can you imagine if this guy had never been born!??? Shit, Shit, Shit!!! We're lucky he was born!!!

  • such a legend, this guy. <3

  • is this originally done by chuck berry or the beatles? although i personally prefer the beatles version

  • @jpelligra1 it's originally by chuck berry. to each their own, but i love chuck berry's more :D

  • Im 14, and I hereby apologize for what my generation has done to music.

  • @BoydMcCoy it's not your age group that ruined music. it started around the 70s really. ever since disco, than all that non-sense in the 80s (90s had some pretty good, but i might be biased), and anything from 2000-now sucks major balls. music hasn't had real quality since the 60s. it's only individual artists who might be great, but in general it's all a huge joke. *tear*

  • @BoydMcCoy >.> it was cool when the first guy did it, but now it's just lame...

  • let's back to 60's years

  • 6 people don't like rock and roll music.

  • The indispensable Chuck Berry, ladies and gentlemen!

  • THIS, ladies and gentlemen, is REAL music!

  • I seriously know where Chuck Berry lives!!! I live in MO and my Grandpa's brother, Larry hunts on his property there are all kinds of paved roads in his woods!! I Swear!!!

  • damn hi's good <3

  • chuck is the coolest cause hes the effortlesstest

  • love the slapback echo on this classic !!!!

  • not ever read as much bullshit as i read in the description... wow, he did about 3 good songs

  • I love his music, and that life he gives us in his music. I love all of your " black music" allways. Because you have SOUL, soul and allways soul..

  • Sorry to disagree with most of you but Lennon perfected this song!:)

  • Classic!!

  • Great song!!

  • little richard> chuck berry

  • @PortsmouthNoir no Chuck berry > little richard

  • @sk8erdude091100 you're about 30 years younger than me. Little Richard proved to the world that you can sing outrageously and empower the world. Chuck Berry was bested by Hank Williams, Cash, Williamson, Hurst and Richards to name a few.

  • @sk8erdude091100

Little Richard was the original and you can't take that away from him. No point arguing though, I just throw them all into the category of the architects of rock n roll. Carl Perkins is the artist of the time I'd consider most similar to Chuck Berry, they almost parallel each other as guitarists, songwriters and lyricists, but coming from different angles. I consider the three the holy triumvirate.

  • @subg88 Well put

  • Now listen to rock dis days

  • this old music is real music, some idiots thinks that Hannah Montana is rocker THAT IS SO FOR MORONS an that LMFAO ARE PARTY ROCK, idiots dont know what is rock or bluess, county and metal music today, rock is Twisted sister,AC-DC, Motorhead.......... FUCK YOU IDIOTS!!!!

  • The lyrics refering to the Congo in this all time classic is a political statement by Chuck.

It is NOT "It's way to early for a congo" as in the dance line. It is rather "much too early for the CONGO" as in the nation of the Congo in the 50's, going through revolution and cutural upheaval, was not ready for rock and roll.

    Joe Postove

  • Back then cool people were really...literally.....awesomely cool, they had skills, they knew what they were doing.......God i hate "facebook/youtube/internet-posers/fakers cool" people liked only by teenage girls and so teenage boys also have to be like and admire these internet fuckers in order to open those teenage legs....fuck...no mature person likes to listen to the kind of...ohh crap...i dont want to write that name...instead i'l just type shit ...shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit

  • IT'S GOTTA BE ROCK N ROLL MUSIC

IF YA WANNA FUCK WIT ME

    SORRY BABE

  • I was born in the wrong generation.

Someone should bring this music back.

  • 50s <3

i hate all that shit today come on lets live like people in 50s or 60s :D

driving an old mustang in nowhere and hearing that song ;)

  • I'm 14 and I like this song and sort of music NOT all kids are rude and ignorant.

  • @sorchajet

    same I'm 12 :)

  • @sorchajet cause you are human being and have a clue about that..cheers dude = )

  • The biggest problem with the American and Global Music Industry for well over a Decade or More is the Damn Payola runs the Media viewing sources such as the Internet,Radio, and TV. Not what New Stuff that is best available in the World. There are a lot of Great Talented New Singers and Performformers who never get known to the World Public because they do not to have the People to allow them to get known to the World. The Global Music Industry dictates what souless depressing garbage should be

  • i prefer the beatles version...it has more soul, but this is still so so good

  • @henryherbert Each style version was great for it's time and period.

  • ¨Todays "artists" can never achieve the legend status Chuck has had for decades. They're nothing against Chuck Berry. Heck, they wont even be worth to shine Chuck's shoes.

  • FUCK the FUTURES! BRING back the OLDIES! -no riots -no nuclear -no facebooks -no rude kids and no JUSTIN BIEBER!

erghh. no what ah? i dunno wat to say.

  • @E3Z00000 Hell yes!!! I love David Bowie, Suzi Quatro, Franki Valli, Chuck Berry, The Runaways, Joan Jett, The Sex Pistols, BRING IT ALL BACK hahaha <3

  • @E3Z00000 Agreed ♥♥

  • @E3Z00000

    Haha my kind of man

  • @E3Z00000 Oh yeah! At 15, I completely agree with you. I'm starting my own band to play real "rock and roll music"! ;) Starting a revolution!!!!!!

  • @E3Z00000 agree! XD

  • damn it's 2012 now! Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and the others will make new songs and destroy the rock and roll! btw, happy new year! hope the old bands come back and perform a live concert!

  • @E3Z00000 Hmm...wait a minute: no riots and nuclear during the '50s? Are you competely sure about this?

  • @E3Z00000 nuclear came before this song was made.....

  • still great!

  • THANKS CHUCK BERRY YOU ARE THE FATHER OF ROCK AND ROLL I HAVE RESPECT FOR YOU BRO

  • mmm me gusta mas con los beatles

  • Comment removed

  • Ahhh... sweet 50s.... :*(

  • 2 dislike? really?

  • it scrazy didnt this guy inspire the beatles?? and now he covered their song? thats like an accomplishment right there

  • @nightcrawler511 This song is originally by Chuck along with Rollover Beethoven. John Lennon said "if you were to give rock and roll another name you may call it Chuck Berry."

  • look superEduper you suck!

  • to AAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL the people argueing bout this and the Beatles , The Beatles listened to this music and Chuck Berry etc... where their idol's they never denied this but to me the Beatles version is better, Yes without this there would be no Beatles but personally i think they did this song better

  • this make my day happy

  • YOU GO BERRYY!!!!!! :D i love the beatles version too but original beats all. even the beatles!! I LOVE THIS SONG :D

  • @rollingstonesgirl99 The Beach Boys did a great version of this too.

  • @hazelmay64 oh really? havent heard that version, im off to listen to it! haha XDD

  • @texianpride... Remember whites are the majority in the US. Elvis did many songs that were first recorded by African Americans. When he did them the whites embraced there own and loved him.

  • @texianpride... Elvis was more acceptable... blacks could not even eat where they wanted at the time. A white person would have a wider appeal. Even today if a white person raps as good as a black person ... they will get more attention and likely sell more albums... Kreayshawn is a good example of this today in 2011

  • Les Paul invented the electric guitar by the way: One of his famous songs is *Hold that tiger* which has to do with a sports team holding off the opposing team *The Tigers* while Chuck Berry improved greatly it's sounds.

    Just food for the ears.

  • Elvis is the king for a reason guys.

Chuck was incredible but Elvlis had the most number one singles in the history of music.

Hes got somthin like a hundred hit singles or some crap yall forget why he was the king.

Personally I like Buddy more but Elvis is the King of Rock N Roll HE was the one who made in world famous sadly not Chuck

  • @TexianPride If Buddy Hadn't of Died He Whould of been known As the King.

  • HES THE FATHER OF ROCK N ROLL MUSIC BITCHES!!!!!

i think he should have been king of it to :)

  • Les Paul created Rock and roll. Elvis and Chuck berry popularized it and the Beatles perfected it

  • In Chuck Berry we trust!

  • Stop fighting. Fact is, Chuck and the Beatles are one of the best, not the best, one of the best. There's still Bob Dylan, Elvis, The Who, Queen.

    40s - early 90s were the best

  • Historic fact: Rock'n'Roll was invented in USA.

  • About this whole Beatles discussion... their version of this song has always seemed weak to me... In fact, all of the covers on "Beatles For Sale" seem weak (but especially "Rock and Roll Music" and "Kansas City/Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!".

  • If u want to dance with me :L.

  • Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival... they were all great!

    I love 50's, 60's and 70's music!

  • @TeamMastaPr2 don't forget Buddy Holly.

  • Chuck Berry is the Godfather of Rock and Roll.

  • If John Lennon could bow down to this MAN along with Keith Richards, everyone can!!

  • I want that this song be played on my Funeral Pary :D

  • first guitar hero

  • The piano makes this song what it is a master piece cool song still after all that time.

  • WTF!!! Only 2:35 long, I need more dammit!!! GIVE ME MY ROCK N ROLL MUSIC!!!

  • Great, great songwriter, but one of the greatest performers? Have you seen a Chuck Berry show? He won't even tune his guitar. The man quite simply doesn't care about putting on a good live show. Plus, he's a major creep regarding his sex offenses throughout the years.

  • @thop55 Oh, shut up.

  • in all honesty i hate elvis fuck him taken credit for this mans work

  • Chuck berry is pre-My parents and I still love him.

  • fuckin 14 year olds...

  • I'm 14 and can't get enough of Chuck Berry and a lot of other older bands like this, reply saying "Aye!" if you agree more people this young need to listen to this stuff.

  • @bigggggcody aye! im also 14 and love this stuff man.

  • @bigggggcody aye! i'm fourteen too lol

  • @bigggggcody Aye! Same age and always listening to stuff like this!

  • @bigggggcody

Aye! I'm 16, but I've loved Chuck Berry since I was 14 at least...This man invented rock n' roll!

  • This is better than Beatles the piano is clearer original better thanks.

  • @wins151 I love the Beatles and all, however yeah, originals are always better!

  • @TheBeatlesPkmnFaan42 Yes true i got nothing with the Beatles they even done alot for the music i just think john shouts it than sing it and the backing track not as good for them. but at lease they gave it new life again in the 60s.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey Wake up this man wrote this stuff years before the Beatles got started. As a matter of fact listen to the guitars on the early Beatles you will hear Chuck Berry coming directly through. He is the greatest and first with electric roick and roll. The Beatles and other groups credit Chuck Berry for much of their inspiration in their 64- 67 period. Chuck did this in 1956. As you may know 10 years in rock and roll is a light year.

  • @jimbyrne528 preach it!!

  • @jimbyrne528 I agree with you but a light year is not time, it's a distance measurement :P

  • @jimbyrne528 I think you'll hear more of Buddy Holly in the Beatles' guitar playing

  • @jimbyrne528 i agree what you had to say, but to be a asshole/loudmouth/smartass/douchebag i gotta tell you, a lightyear is a term of distance not time :P

  • @jimbyrne528 Actually The Beatles Were around in 1958 But weren't Famous & didn't go by the name The Beatles, The Beatles Really Started from 1960-1970.

  • @jimbyrne528 the Beatles were also inspired by the beach boys when making stg peppers band. just saying. also you cant forget THE KING!!!

  • I love Chuck Berry, he is excellent, but in honesty I do get a little bit bored of the same chord structure over and over. And I'm surprised he didn't and doesn't.

  • @mrsub360 in rock n roll everythings the same structure basically

  • John Lennon said that the name Chuck Berry is synonymous with rock & roll.

The Beatles would mock and laugh their arses off at anyone so clueless and out of it enough to want to argue about who is better, them or their main inspiration.

Enough with the moronic negativity. Enjoy the music, while you can!

  • @bootytoot

Thank you for the breath of fresh air, BT. It's like making fun of Alexander Graham Bell for not using a cellphone! : - )

  • @CAPTAINKIL1 BEATLES ARE GREAT BUT WITH OUT DIS MAN THERE IS NO ROCK N ROLL

  • @BUZZEDAPROMOTER Are you really fighting for that?

Chuck berry and Beatles are both daamn good. So why to argue for that?

  • @BUZZEDAPROMOTER True.

  • @BUZZEDAPROMOTER Without this man there wouldn't be even the Beatles :)

  • @PunkRockDude1 CHuck inspired the beatles to be musicians..but as MUSICIANS, the beatles did a lot more. analyze the difference.

  • @msanm5 That depend whitch means more for you.

Berry invented Rock'n Roll and Beatles made it HUGE.

But really there is no sense in this fight so how about we just make a deal that this one was a tie..?

  • @PunkRockDude1 Berry DIDNT invent Rock N Roll...are you that innocent? or then I could say Beatles invented Pop and Psychedelic? you just dont know what you're talking about, and I dont care if a beatle or someone said Berry invented Rock n Roll...because that's a lie.

  • @msanm5

Maby you are innocent becouse I said I don't want to fight :)

But then tell me who invented rock'n roll..?
