You know, one reason I selected that track was because I like the beat so much that the offensive part was a little more tolerable even though the sound is offensive. At least the scratch did not dominate too hard. He's talented, no doubt and I won't dis him or this song. It's just a part of the disability to have problems with distortions that differ from others. I wish sometimes I could like the sound....but then I'd lose my ability to tolerate chalkboard. Why no chalkbord scratch songs!?

Has anybody ever heard of Asperger's Syndrome. I'm one of those people who have it. When I was a kid turning to a teenager,I used to cry when I heard a DJ scratch records when mixing on the turntables when I listened to the radio. And if that's not enough,when I was 6,I used to cry when my uncle scratched my mother's records on the record player. Now,I just turned 30 two days ago,and I'd like to say that I am an avid fan of turntablist DJs and I wish I was one,or at least get my own phonograph.

No. It just means you don't have a sensory sensitivity to it. I actually don't mind the tune at all, it's the tones of scratch that's used to make it. In fact, what's ironic is that I love the tune! You could be autistic or non-autistic....but autistics are more prone to micro-textured noise sensitivities of some distortion/sound or another. The safest noise might just be a sine wave or triangular wave.

I think that's because they're complex sounds, with no clear meaning to them. When I can't identify the pitch of a sound or get a word from it, it bugs me. I've been driven crazy by the hum of an air conditioner! But relaxed like I am now, alone in front of my computer, I won't go into overload--it's when I'm tired or thinking hard or in a public place that it happens easily.

I actually get tension with all of them from time to time. When it's cold and I feel in any way achy or my hands and feet feel dry or I get goosebumps, my nerves are particularly sensitive to every little noise (including air conditioners). I can't really stand to walk on ice or hear people ice skate either even though I love the cold. Yes, overload is easy with any really distorted sounds. Only nice sines and square waves have nice tonal smoothness that don't irritate too much in that way.

Actually, a nail file is also pretty intolerable to me. A saw running is bearable but certainly no favorite. It's kind of an uncomfortable noise a bit worse than a jack hammer perhaps. I can see how some could easily be sensitive to that. It's close to my distortion sensitivity range.

I'm entirely unable to enjoy certain types of music, especially at the volumes it tends to be played. However I'm tolerant to torture, my parents had a Cockatoo kept in a cage outside my bedroom window. It screeched a lot, like fingernails on chalkboard, very high volume. I learned to let that wash through my mind - not stick.
